Or “Hiatus” as in WB is considering cancelling the project so it’s on hold. It could go either way.
Hopefully this is good news indeed. But remember it still relies on WB greenlighting production to begin. Still, at least now we know at this point it isn’t cancelled 
Add me to those pleased at this news! And I also agree; I’d rather the cast, crew and animators take their time and give us a quality product that we can all be proud of!
What I’m also hoping is that they’ll also take this time to respond to the criticisms some have had (“It feels too rushed,” “There are not enough women writers on the show,” etc.) The relationship between the showrunners and the fans so far has been a pretty good one, and I know they’re at least aware of some of what’s discussed here. They’ve seemed pretty receptive. So let’s keep the dialogue going!
Add to that “more OS villains!” lol

It would be a real shame if the second season didn’t get made. They’ve come such a long way with the characters and the storyline, and they could go way further with the concept. You would think they’ve got enough of an investment in the show to at least see it through to its expected conclusion…it would be a waste to let it all go now.
Well today was episode 19, 7 more to wrap up Season 1. Didn’t I hear/read from Matt Mercer that they had completed voice recording for Season 1 a long time ago? So it stands to reason production is taking a break before starting on Season 2.
AND keep in mind that this season started back in August? So they have about 3 months to get the first couple episodes of Season 2 done. As long as they are back working by June or July I bet Season 2 will start about the same time Season 1 did.

Which is where the word “considering” comes into play. Matthew Mercer told us that Cartoon Network was skeptical about a second season, so perhaps they are waiting to see if the ratings keep up or if toy sales improve before making a final decision.
While it’s great that we haven’t been canceled being put on hiatus isn’t exactly good news for the show. 
I want so much for a second season of the show to happen.
I hope the ratings and the toy sales have improve a lot sense they move it to saturdays. I am trying to support the series as much as I can by watching when it airs. In addtion, buying some of the toys. Yesterday, I just brought a Lion-o and Mumm-RA figure.

Why exactly? Every show has a hiatus! Its called a break! The next season HAS been ordered, and will be produced AFTER the break!!! Thundercats IS NOT CANCELLED!!!
That is true production takes time.
It has done, ratings doubled when it moved to saturdays. Now the ratings are as good as or even better than many of CNs other prime shows. They are STILL not promoting it however, which in my opinion shows just how well the show is doing to be beating other heavily promoted shows, and the ratings do not include those who watch it on playstation network, the internet or any other media because not every fan can get access to CN, so I think actual ratings will be much higher.
I just wish CN would show more previews or advertising. In addtion, when they put the show on hiatus, they need to have re-runs of the episodes. If CN would do these things it will help with the show and toys a lot.
Means nothing to me. If the show continues great. But until I actually see them I’m not buying it.
Wolverine and The X-Men got supposedly another 26 episodes ordered. Show did very well internationally great ratings for NickToons. No season 2 ever materialized. Designs were done. Scripts were written. Still no season 2.
Josh Fine even at the Planet Hulk premiere said that production would resume on season 2 of the show once the financing was in place. Never happened.
As for season 2 according to CN this right now is season 2. When they actually start working on more episodes and I mean active production besides designs, voice over, etc then I might start believing it. Until then with all this mum BS from CN, “We are in season 2 with new episode premieres now,” I’m not buying any of it. I’ve been burned far too often by corporate double speak in these situations before that did not end well.
That still sounds to me like the series is still up in the air.
But I’m keeping my fingers crossed and hoping. I want this series to continue.
The vile one: I don’t think you’ll accept that were getting a season 2 untill were all discussing the season 3 finale on here! We get it, you’re skeptical. Most of us aren’t so please either join in with the support or send your grumbles to the netherworld somewhere.
My skepticism comes from two places…
One, Cartoon Network even being skeptical about a second season. Why is that? The show is doing fine in the ratings and even better now that it is on Saturday mornings. The show is performing well so I don’t get why CN has to even think about it.
Two, the toy line seems to be in limbo at the moment. Not having toys on the shelves while the series was on a break is one thing, but when new episodes are airing and there is no product on the shelves there is something very wrong. Every store in my area has either no product or a few items on clearance that aren’t moving. I’d like to think the shows future doesn’t depend on toy sales, but the reboot of Masters of the Universe suffered a similar fate.
Until production actually begins on the ordered second season we aren’t in the clear.
