Yep they definately expanded on it, but I prefer this to his reflection being his weakness.
From That episode the Cats needed to be knocked down a peg. Perhaps in the end of this series (in say 15 or so years) The climax will be the end of Mumm-Ra and the birth of a United Third Earth with all races being equal. (we are on third earth right???)
Awesome episode! 
The only thing I didn’t liked too much was that the episode(s) felt too quick, everything happened really fast but I more or less expected this.
Other thing, after Tygra questioned Lion-o’s decision to free those lizards and making fun of him for believing in technology, I was really waiting for Lion-o to tell something to Tygra because well, he was right in the end.
Mumm-Ra was great in the episode, too bad he couldn’t transform in this one, and Grune was ok but I was expecting more.
By the way I would have liked a bigger reaction form Tygra to Grune’s betrayal, afterall Grune is (was?) his hero, right?
btw did anyone notice? they fixed the error on the spear tips. lol
Did you notice that some scenes where a lot darker than in the trailers too? Like when there firing all those arrows and such?
Just got done watching it. My thoughts are that it is a promising start. The action scenes were great, the animation was beautiful, and the characters were really fun to watch. There are still plenty of holes to fill in regarding the back stories & such, but that’s what the rest of the show is for.
Strong start. Hopefully the rest of the show stays on track!
My major disappointment though was that there was no Intro. I kept thinking in my mind “What is the new intro going to be like”…and we don’t get one! I hope that was just for this special and future episodes get a frickin’ opening!
I AM LOVING IT!!! That was sooooo epic. I love this more adult version. I wanted to kick Tygra’s a-- at one point, but all in all, I am diggin this new version
I wonder what will happen to Jaga? Maybe he becomes a slave to Mumm-ra
You’re not the only one, taking into account all what happened, but his rivalry with Lion-o will be something fun and interesting to watch.
Oh and by the way, I also want an Intro, this series need one.
How does everyone like the new Snarf? I think its for the better. I like the body language and cute little noises he makes now. 
It really was amazing. I cried when it end and i just hugged my mother and said “Am i a child?” and she replyed. “Son.. The Thundercats are loose”
I almost thought there wasn’t enough Snarf. lol
Was Snarf in the final scene? or did he get squashed in the attack?
He was there at the end. Though I admit I sat there wondering how he got there cause I don’t remember seeing him in the escape.

I did watch it with my mom as she like the original thundercats aswell

Well, its only Episode 1. No talk or not, he still is pretty important. I’m sure he will be in the show a lot.
