This was an awesome episode, finally a little backstory. Panthro can really kick some butt can’t he. O and I love the new design of the Driller, fresh and sleek.
However, I must say I’m not liking this tech-savy Mumm-Ra much. It would be better if he draws his powers from magic and not some-super-tech. Mumm-Ra was all about mysticism.
Furthermore, things seem to be moving too fast. I mean Mumm-Ra has just been awakened and immediately he mentions he wants the sword. Realistically he should have demonstrated his anger towards the Cats or said something else. Then there are odd reactions from Grune. When Cats show up at the mine, his reaction seems more like he’s excited for them instead of a frown.

Mine too! In fact, I think he was the only worthy addition. I liked Pumyra as well, but saw no point on bringing her oher than having another adult female in the team.
Finally! Can’t wait to see that. Did he get a new whip, was it the old one, or what?
Actually, that’s the nly thing I don’t like about the new Panthro, that he takes so many lizard men at once. I don’t like him to be a sort of He-Man / Superman character.
Even when disappointed (I expected a reaction from him as well), I was prepared for that that given the way his character has been shown in the first 4 eps.
Bengali was kinda cool as the Thundercats resident blacksmith. He was kinda like Tygra’s little brother.
You mention the Panthro Superman effect but you see Claudus and Grune doing the exact same things. They are simply at the top of the food chain as warriors.
Fan fiction and the associated fandom of many series, much of it maintained by women, do have one use: they ultimately get the attention of suits who bring back television shows. Just saying.
In general I dont get the wide spread fandom hate. Just sounds like a bunch of people have superiority complexes or something.Im better because I dont indulge in it kind of thing with some posters. Its not like you have to pay to read fanfiction or participate in the fandom. That it is actually illegal. All fandom participation is done by free will and is free of charge
I think fanfiction can be really flattering. Someone was so enchanted by what you created, that they refused to let it go. They need at least one more adventure.
Now if someone were to come into a TC forum and *******ize the fans and rip the show for things that are out of the creators control, then yes I would consider that bashing. Dont feel like ive seen any of that here, but im relatively new. Im sure even the producers know what there dealing with. Some fans can be very critical, even that in its self is a compliment. People know how much potential this show has and are even familiar with some of the writers/producers etc. Standards are set long before the first episode has premiered. Recent example would be the Young Justice fandom. Not that their both without some wank.
They might be paralleling the OS and Jaga will give him his whip with the insignia.

One thing regarding time. They knew how much time they had coming in. Right now I think they did a great job pulling Claudus and Lion-O and the kittens out and making them characters. Pathro we now know enough they set the stage. Movies don’t usually have a cast of 7 or more you are trying to get to know.
And keep in mind the crew keeps telling people that are asking about Cheetara’s back story “It’s coming”.
I’m not sure about that. OS Panthro never striked me as a wise/smart (which I know are different) character. Yes, he knew things, most of them related to technology, but I think the wise and/or smart ones were Jaga, Tygra and Lynx-o.
I figured the mutants took it from him when they threw him and Lion-o in the cell and they still have it. Tygra grabbed the gun when they grabbed the sword.
But don’t forget, yeah he had the whip then, but that’s not the whip in all the promo art. In the promo art the whip has three balls. In the first ep it had two diamonds. He’ll probably get the new whip eventually. Just like how Wilykit and kat’ll get their weapons eventually.
This is so unfair. YOu guys get to watch the Eps before me. I just got finished the ep. and I liked it. I liked the start.. SAMOFLANGE LooooL tooo good. ahhh fond memories. And then Panthro asks after a conversation: Any questions? Tygra: Whats a Samoflange?. EPIC

Overall I liked the ep and Panthro is a great like in the OS. Something I expected him to be. Great show.
I don’t think Cheetara and Tygra came short here, just the Kittens did and Lol, even there was a OS flashback. The kittens get to stay and “guard”
Also, unlike lions, tigers are naturally loners. I always thought that partly explained OS Tygra’s introvertion and isolation.Tigers don’t hunt in group, neither hang out together like lions do.
Cheetas are also kind of loners, but are susceptile to get tamed (unlike lions and tigers, unless you use fire and whips lol). That might be why Cheetara was more able to socialize but she was also a step at the side as I saw her.
So I think the OS personalities quite responded to the cats they were based on (expect for Tygra not being able to swim… ridicule as tigers are great swimmers).
I kind of agree with Nine Tiger though. Yes, I’m a fan of the OS, guilty, but I really feel a lack of heart in the NS.
I kind of saw him as a friend roughly Lion-o’s age he could prowl around with too.
I thought it was interesting that where Tygra was throwing fireball around with his whip we tended to see Bengali hurling stuff like rocks with that hammer. Hints of TK they could run with in this series maybe?
