My money is on that scenario for Tygra. And we’ll stumble on the last of the tiger hold-outs who will train Tygra in his mind gifts right about the time the time they’ll get massacred mid-series. And that’s where we’ll meet up with Bengali.
My guess is this one.
At least with Cheetara’s “This isn’t going to end well is it?” And Tygra’s rather thoughtful “Nope” as an answer.
They know whats best for them.. At the moment.. They would get the asses whooped. lol..

As you know directly, I am no saint. And I do not like change very well, especially depending on circumstances. Still, this time, I am trying to keep a level head. Truth be told, I almost missed last night’s episode because I forgot the show was even on. Next Friday I will be missing it because of polterguests. Look at how young they both were when he left. They couldn’t have been more than 10 or 11 at the most which would mean Panthro and Grune would’ve been gone almost a decade. They might know in the back of their minds who he is, but their memories of him would be really hazy.
But then again Tygra did recognize Grune pretty easily in the premiere. But that could’ve been from Tygra’s hero worship. Maybe Panthro wasn’t as close to them.

But they’d been told he was dead, and the Panthro they saw before turned out to be Mumm-ra, so I don’t think it’s weird at all that they didn’t recognize him as Panthro at first. I mean, if I’d been told someone I hadn’t seen for almost a decade was dead, I probably wouldn’t think it was them if they came and started kicking ass in the darkness, on a big roaring machine no less.
Some of of you complain about the need for more character interaction and what not. Five episodes in and we already have a main cast of SEVEN. It’s not easy balancing 22 minutes for seven characters, not counting the characters of the day. This guys are doing a marvelous job with what they’ve got.
And the storytelling is already above anything else out there for american animation. Plus it’s also already in a high category only a handful of american cartoons are at. So stop complaining, stop living in the past and having ridiculous expectations.
Despite the fact that his show is being made with adults also in mind, specially old fans, the demographic is the kids.
Unlike Avatar, this show has a pre-established mythology this guys know they have to respect, so improvising and doing their own thing like that show did is harder.

Nostalgia is great and all but it really obscures objectivity to a huge degree. TOS was far from perfect.

This last EP was definately a step in the right direction but I have to agree with Nine Tiger, I wished for more character development and backstory. Not because I want to watch a drama show but the producers have promised us big story arcs and answers but the focus is not on that part (yet?).
BUT I’m still loving the new show because I’m happy with what we got so far, action is a must in a animated serie for me and that part is spot on, characters are well designed, animation is pretty, sounds and voice acting is awesome.
If in the end we don’t get all the answers then so be it.
The OS was totally brilliant as a kid. I have watched several episodes again the past 2 years and it’s really boring, childish, mostly terrible voice acting and the worse part it’s too predictable. The characters the action and design is to this day still incredible but everything else of the OS needed an update and we’re getting that right now. I already rate the new series higher than the OS.
So in conclusion: Nine Tiger has a point and if that is what he really desires from the show then it might be a dissapointing ride for him. I understand his points but they have no impact on me, I like what I’ve seen so far in general.
I am so surprised no one else found that Cheetara line great.
But on to other matters, anyone else wonder why after dispatching the lizards they didn’t get outta there with that first cart? Why’d they have to go confront Grune?
Well, what’s the one other large cat that can challenge a Lion?
The only advantage a lion has over a tiger are that they’re pride animals and their numbers.
One of the OS themes towards the end was the fact that the nobilty wasn’t too pleased as Lion-o was tearing down the old social order on New Thunderia. It might be something this series is carrying over with this low bubbling resentment we saw Grune display towards the lions.
Add in tigers being cold weather cats naturally. There could be a tiger noble out there who gave Claudis a certain gesture and figured he and his people were out sight they would stay out of minds of lion nobility.
Add in them being a race of illusionist— What race can you think of that would be better at say staying hidden if they didn’t want found? Find them if you can.
So is the consensus here that Tygra actually did use his invisibility powers in the episode? Because to be honest, it was kind of hard to tell whether he did or not.
Hopefully they will develop more as the series carries on.
Loved it almost as much as the premier. Like someone already said, it felt like they were really trying to make us see the evolution and downfall of the Grune/Panthro relationship. I felt for Panthro and even understood Grune. The noticeable parallel between those two and Lion-O/Tygra is foreshadowing some great story lines.
I feel like were going to delve into the whole bloodline v. worth dilemma. I know Lion-O is worthy and all because the sword tell no lies and what not, but I still see potential for some interesting development in that area.
Glad to see Tygra sounding more like he did in the premier. I felt really good about his character in the premier. We saw him happy, angry, sad,arrogant, goofy, flirty and commanding. That is why ive been somewhat put off by his later appearances. Im not asking for all of that in one or two episodes but I would love to hear him joke around in the heat of battle again.

Untill last night, he looked more bland in comparison.
After the twins, Cheetara seems the most consistent. She’s got that wise beyond her years thing going for her. Her loyalty to the crown is annoying, but consistent.
Loved seeing Panthro challenge Lion-O’s authority. Although, I think Lion-O came off more jerky then ever this episode

I’m voting yes just by the way he winked back in. That’s pretty classic Tygra becoming uninvisible there.

Well, in the OS their magical weapons just enhanced what was already there.
And your not the only one-- I miss Tygra’s fireballs and the dancing fire circles.
Okay time for some nitpicky stuff.
Lion-O changed the Sword of Omens chant:
“Thunder-Thunder-ThunderCats Ho!!!”
So what happened to that extra thunder anyway? 
He didnt have time to say it?
Anyone else as confused about the cats having tails as I am?
I thought it had to do with age but that is not the case since lion-o/tygra didn’t have them.
Panthro had one if the very first flashback and then not after that.
It’s a sign of being lower class. How that works I dunno, but that’s the official view. Which is why the kittens were street urchins.
Supposedly, or so we’re guessing, Panthro had his removed when made General.
This show keeps getting better and better with each episode.
On the other topic…I’ll say I really don’t have the time to waste or the desire to go on bashing and breaking down things I don’t like in life. I’m a Star Wars fan, but I don’t wander into Star Trek forums and tell them their stuff is crap…I’m a Marvel guy, but I don’t go into the DC section on comic book sites and break down page per page what’s wrong with their stories. If you don’t like the new show, fine, you’ll always have the OS to enjoy all you want, as well as that self indulgent, useless fan fic too.
I have to disagree with that point to some degree. They might have only 22 minutes per episode, but thus far (with 5 episodes) they’ve had 110 minutes to flesh out those 7 characters which is more than enough time to spend on more than just Lion-O. That’s as long as a full length movie would be.
