I’m a firm beliver the writers should take a quick look at Big Bang and get some hints at writing overly intelligent and sarcasic with a touch of antisocial.
Tygra and Lion-o really do have the potential to be absolutely hysterial playing off of one another if the writers give them a chance.

“Excellent. I’m offically allowed to drift off in disinterest then.”
Okay… It could be better. But I think you get my point.
Just watched and it’s amazing how it get better episode after episode! The balance between tension and the action here was fantastic! Keep it coming CN!
They also kinda looked like one of the Ancient Spirits of Evil from TOS. I’m thinking that’s what they were.
I am a big fan of Big Bang. I think the dialogue in that show works because we know who the people are under the sarcasm, and that adds a bit of melancholy and pathos to the proceedings.
Hoping they keep Amy Farrah Fowler around. Her banter with Sheldon is inspired 
It reminds me of my own science days back in the late 70s. When I went for an interview for graduate school at Cornell, the doc in the microbiology department said to me that women should not be in the lab because they did not have the strength to move the liquid nitrogen tanks on their own. I told him it was no problem, because I would just sweet talk a male to do it for me.

I think dialogue wise that show is the best on TV right now.
They miss with Howard as a engineer because we haven’t seen him pull the duct tape out once.
Writers of Pathro please note. 
I don’t think it would feel particularly cool or epic to see the Thundertank pieced together with duct tape.
Duct tape is only for emergency temp fixes in the field.
You fix the range of things from setting broken bones to splicing together spilt hoses or wires. Not to mention it always comes in handy to tie and gag someone. 
Hmmm…female writers…I don’t know, shouldn’t their place be in the kitchen cooking my dinner or in the bedroom perhaps…?

Anyway, I’ve never thought or cared about the gender of a writer. It has no bearing on me liking the story. I just care how well something is written and much like art, the written word is subjective.
I also think it’s been many things that’ve keep TC alive through the years: toy collecting on the secondary market, conventions, cosplay, forums and communities on the net, several mini-series comics from Wildstorm, ect. Plus other 80’s reboots of varying success have all contributed to what we are getting today.
How about it is as simple as this. TCats had imagery and concepts that where just more appealing to the general populace than the other shows of the time.
I always dug the show the most for it’s anime-stylings. I’m referring directly to it’s art direction which was far superior to any other show at the time.
Of course this was back in the mid-eighties, before the rise of anime in the US-- well at least before it was as mainstream as it is now.

So, does anyone else think that the map (glyph? scroll?) Claudius shows Panthro and Grune depicts the Book of Omens as being in a pyramid? I was thinking, perhaps the Book of Omens is being guarded by Mumm-Rana. Thoughts?

Why would Mumm-Ra interrogate Jaga as to the location of the Book of Omens if he was already in possession of it?
the Drawing is in the shape of a Pyramid, but like the person above me said, Mumm-Ra wouldn’t need to look for the Book if he already has it.

I’m still convinced that the book is in El Darra because they wouldn’t be hitting us over the head about it otherwise in the pilot and Ramlak Rising. Maybe Mumm-rana lives there.
Finally watched the episode. Just some quick thoughts:
Liked that Tygra can turn invisible without the whip. I hope he uses it more since it takes away the chameleons’ advantage. He’d be a great scout in situations like…oh say, investigating a Thundrillium mine.
I hope Driller isn’t gone for good. Nice reboot of that character that makes sense.
Panthro is awesome. I think the boys didn’t really know what to make of him because he is pretty reserved as a character. He probably didn’t have much to do with them when they were children, so the princes barely remembered him as a result.
Grune, on the other hand, probably took a very special interest in Tygra because Tygra was a non-Lion with a potential bid for the crown, so he was more present in the princes’ lives. I’m guessing the monarchy works with the following hierarchy: Royal Bloodline > Nobles (with possible higher treatment of Lions) > Purebred Commoners > Mixed Breed Commoners.
I’m thinking Panthro lost the tail in whatever battle caused him to be blinded in one eye and get all scarred up. Seems like a tail would be an easy target for an enemy to grab onto and slice off.
This first arc of the season is Lion-O’s story. So I’m not too surprised by the special emphasis placed on him in all these episodes. I think we’ll get to see more of the others in future episodes as Lion-O gets a handle on being Lord of the Thundercats.
Based on what Mr. Mercer apparently said, I would guess that Grune tries to woo Tygra over to the dark side. However, Tygra is a far better person than Grune and will stick by his brother no matter what.
Ah, hmmm possible. Though I hope she’d get a major redesign. She always looked a little too man-ish to me.
The Mumm-Rana character had serious potential that was under utilized by the show’s writers. She could have been a lot more intimately involved w/ the TCats and the downfall of Mumm-Ra. I do agree though that she was rather manly featured.
He said Mumm-Rana, not Mumm-Ra.
And even when it’s a good theory, I beg for no Mumm-Rana this time
Like Bloom, I think the Book is in Eldara (which might be a game word for El Dorado, the magic lost city).
Even when I liked it, I hope they don’t get us used to it to the point they drive us to forget about the whip. Further more, I hope they’re not doing that already. I WANT THE WHIP BACK!
Mumm-Rana does look like a Drag Queen in the OS.
I’d also vote for a new name. Maybe Mumm-Ara?
I was never a fan of Mumm-Rana. It just felt like such an uncreative thing to do. Good Girl Mumm-Ra! Go! And I had so many question like how did she not know about the Thundercats, Mutants, & Mumm-Ra prior to that episode? I mean if she’s the ultimate force for Good, shouldn’t she keep tabs on what the evildoers are up to and try to help out any potential allies? She’s a pretty lazy do gooder, lol.
So if she’s brought back, they have to do a total overhaul to make the character work outside of just being female Mumm-Ra counterpart.
My idea with the Book of Omens is that, where ever it is hidden, it should be guarded by Hachiman whose family has been trained to watch over the book, a task passed down from generation to generation. Or maybe even pull an Indy & the Last Crusade and have Hachiman be an immortal guardian that has sworn to guard the book for eternity. When the T-Cats finally reach it, Lion-O has to do battle with Hachiman to earn the right to carry the book.
I don’t know. I think that’d be cool.

Except for the vulture, the ASOE statues were representative of animal species not of any of the main Mutants and never again was it pursued that they had anything to do with Plundarr.[/FONT]
