Why? Did he lose his whip? I don’t remember that…
It seems as though he’s been without it since episode 2.
I would guess that it was taken from him when they were locked up as he had to grab a gun in order to have a weapon to fight with. And he’s been using nothing but the gun since.
Might be that way. I hope he gets a new whip soon though. I really hate the gun.
Though they’ve already dealt with one death so far - Claudus’s. A major blow to Lion-O and Tygra. This episode may be more of a blow to the kids. I wonder if their parents died, if the Petalars deaths wouldn’t affect them in some way connecting to that. However, I doubt the show would go in that direction.

I’m guessing he lost it. In the artwork leading up to the show of the 4 adult cats, it showed Tygra with a gun in one hand and his traditional looking bolo whip in the other. I’m guessing he’ll get that whip in the future. Hopefully soon. He’s not Tygra without it.
I doubt the episode will focus on Tygra’s insight / feelings / thoughts at all, just Lion-o’s. You know, for a change 
I didn’t suggest they’d explore Tygra’s feelings on the matter. I don’t see Tygra forming an emotional connection to the Petalars. I was referring to the kids. That scene where they’re walking, Kit has some on her arms that she has spread out, her eyes are closed in a happy way with a smile on her face, and Kat behind holding some in his hands also looking happy. I imagine the kids will be attached to the Petalars and I was wondering how the show might explore their emotions in that, saying I doubt the show would connect it to them losing their parents. 
That’s kind of what I’m thinking they might do here; address death on a bit more of a personal or intimate level. I can count on one hand the number of cartoons that dealt with the subject in such a way:
Star Trek: The Animated Series: “Yesteryear” - Spock travels back in time courtesy of the The Guardian of Forever to prevent his younger self from dying during a survival test called the Kahs-wan ordeal. However, he ends up instead being saved by his pet sehlat, I-Chaya, who is seriously injured defending Spock from another Vulcan creature called a Lamatya. The young Spock must then make a difficult decision: let I-Chaya live out the rest of his days in pain or euthanize him. Spock tearfully chooses the latter option.
Star Blazers - It’s known throughout much of the show’s first season that the Argo/Yamato’s captain, Captain Avatar, is dying due to exposure from radiation. However, he resolves to maintain command as long as he is able. Eventually, he becomes too ill and turns over command to his Deputy Captain, Derek Wildstar, the show’s main protagonist. In the final episode, as he lies on his bed in his cabin, he tells the ship’s doctor, Dr. Sane:
“I dreamt of Earth last night. The way it was before the bombings. Green and cool. And there was a fresh wind… And my wife…standing at the window with my son…”
After the doctor leaves, we see the photo of the captain’s deceased wife and son that he has been holding slip from his fingers and fall to the floor. Dr. Sane returns, is at first startled to find the captain dead, then stands at attention offering a salute, just as the Argo returns to Earth.
Robotech: “Farewell, Big Brother” - One of the subplots of this episode dealt with the characters of pilot Roy Fokker and his girlfriend Claudia Grant making plans for a dinner date. However, the Zentraedi attack and Fokker is shot through his ****pit in a dogfight, mortally wounded. He manages to conceal his wound however, as he intends to keep his date. Later as he sits on Claudia’s sofa, strumming a guitar, Claudia accuses Roy and the other pilots of treating combat like some big game. Roy suddenly stops, then says quietly, “It’s never been a game, Claudia.” He winces, then falls over and collapses onto the floor dead, Claudia kneeling over him, sobbing.
If this episode comes even close to handling death in the way the shows above have done, I’ll have gained even more respect for this new show.
I’m intrigued to see where it goes, for sure. They are SUPER cutesy (not necessarily a bad thing) but the basic set-up does seem to imply that will be undercut by sadness. The tiny Petalar sounds like the youngest kid from The Middle.

…that panthro had lost his nunchaku since grune brought it to Claudus on the first ep.?? if so.. how come it appears in his very own hands on ep. 4?

Different nunchaku? I mean Grune handing Claudus those Nunchaku was poignant. It was the last thing he had left to remember his friend. Grune had to know Panthro was important to Claudus, otherwise why use him as bait.
I sincerely hope its not a plot hole.

the fact that Claudus recieved the nunchaku was because he found it to be the weapon, the only weapon that panthro was handling at the time…
coming to think of it.. I back down on that one.. since the only real possible explanation to this would be because panthro has built another one on his own.. since he was capable of creating the thundertank.. that would be a piece of cake in terms of weapon engineering..
Maybe the pair Grune had was normal old nunchucks and the new ones might have all the special stuff they had in the OS like the lasers or smoke screen and stuff.
I would say, “Definitely yes.” The character Silky was no doubt the model for the Petalars. And did anyone notice how much the Petalar leader sounds like Lion-O? Will Friedle doing both characters, I’ll wager.
They could be doing a little future foreshadowing too.
Jaga might just be a true goner when they find the book of Omens with Lion-O having to let him go.
That second clip certainly gives new meaning to the phrase “allergy attack”

They could have been a generic pair Mumm-Ra created. We still don’t know what happened between Panthro and Grune.
The Panthro toy comes with two pair of nunchaku, so that seems to be the simplest explanation. If I remember correctly Claudus said that Grune and Panthro were gone for “many seasons” so it’d make sense for Panthro to bring multiples just in case.
I did notice it and thought it was strange.
Well, if Tygra can get another whip, I guess Pantrhro can get new nunchucks as well
