From what I saw in that preview it seems like being able to use SbS is some kind of rare ability.
Seems that way.
I guess they wanted to give him his own special ‘power’ since Cheetara has her speed, Tygra his invisibility, and Panthro his sheer awesomeness. We’ll just ignore the fact that it’s not really a power in the OS. 
It’s probably a matter of storytelling really. Like “If Claudus had Sight Beyond Sight then why didn’t the sword warn him about the attack?”
This way they don’t have to answer that.
It seems like it will also bring the distinction in hearts between Claudus and Lion-O. The latter seemingly more in tune with the letter and spirit of the Code of Thundera.
Less than 24 hours! Can’t wait!
