The WBKIDS website has posted a thundercats game that is new to me… apologies if this has already been posted or is old news…feel free to remove if that’s the case!!

Thanks so much for posting that up - it reminds me so much of the old computer games I used to play when I was a kid, there was a time someone would have shelled out a lot of money to play a game like that on a computer games console!

For a flash game by WB, this is AWESOME
It’s kind of a boring game once you get past the awesomeness of the fact that your favourite characters are revived in this official game… the sprites you fight on the regular levels are repetitive and so is the background.
But fighting the giant Monkian, Jackalman and S-s-s-slythe is very cool. I didn’t make it to Mumm-Ra’s pyramid so have no idea if that was cool or not.
Not sure why Pathro’s super power is to call lightning bolts down from the sky, it’d be neater if the ThunderTank raced across the screen killing everyone on sight.
Has anybody played the other games? I was wondering whether WB might be making games for other properties that have been dormant for a while or if ThunderCats is an outlier?

I just fought Mumm-Ra and lost. He’s bad ass!
This is a classic Side-scrolling platform game reminding me of the golden age of Video games at the old consoles like Super Mario Bros released for the NES or Duble Dragon. Simple and funny, actually this new "Rescue’ game is very similar to Thundercats:The lost eye of Thundera published in 1987 by Elite for Amiga and Atari ST with the exception that you can select to play as a character from the rest of the team. The bad thing is nowadays these 2D platform games are considered unsophisticated and after the end of the 16-bit era the player’s attention had gradually shifted away passing the interest to RPGs, first person shooters or more complex action-adventures genres. I don’t understand the reason for surprisingly bringing back such a traditional game which someone woudln’t spend probably more than 30 minutes to play because honestly after a while it gets really boring. In the way i see it, most likely it is a promotional trick so as to introduce something,and really i can’t guess what, major and brand-new for Thundercats at some time next year.
Speaking of VG Thundercats have all the prerequisite to make it to this section. In particular as an RPG featuring fully rendered characters on pre-rendered backgrounds transpiring its anime nature, something like Final Fantasy 7, of course in high-details graphic. The story is great and perplexed with a variety of enemies and diverse elements,the protagonists are elaborated beautifully designed with a range of combat skills seperately or as team and above all a world already set but not yet fully explored. The story wouldn’t have necessarily to be:"go beat the evil Mumm-ra’, it could unfold from the begining the Thunderats story and presenting their way to New Thundera. Anyway there are so much resources and it is time they started realizing of the immense opportunities…
Well I finished the game, Mumm-Ra isn’t as tough as Tygra in the long run.

I love the retro look they’ve given it. Too bad there wasn’t a game like this on Super Nintendo back in the day. I’d have played it for hours!

Played it. Addicted to it. Have only gotten to level 8.
Somehow my Lion-O keeps getting punched in the face – a LOT.

This game is a nice throw back to the old Konami games like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time. I would have loved to have a T-Cats game like this on Super Nintendo. A game like that could have greatly expanded on what we see here. They could have worked in all kinds of enemies like Ratar-O, Safari Joe, & Grune the Destroyer as bosses. They also could have worked in the New Thundercats or something.
I beat the game. Its very basic all the way through although the enemies start to get tougher towards the end. I did it with Lion-O mainly because he has more health than the others and that just made it easier, lol. I would have liked some back ground changes for some of the levels. For example, it would have been cool if Level 9 was actually in Castle Plun-Darr & Level 12 was actually inside Mumm-Ra’s Pyramid. It would have also been nice if Vultureman had been given a spot in the game, but whatever.
Overall though, the game is simple & fun, especially for a flash game. Game play was simple and kind of addicting and it was just nice to play a game with Thundercats characters in it.

they now have the second game up and running, “The Orb of Madness”
Just thought I’d pass along the update…Glad everyone has been able to enjoy this so far.
PS looks like the have reinvented the music and character design a bit this round…cool!
That new game is pretty cool, side scrolling game similar to mega man. It’s pretty fast and I like the animation.
Only the first level is available right now though. The cool thing is that the stages take place within the Cats Lair and Mumm-Ra’s Pyramid.
I don’t know if you guys have the same problem, but for me the major problem with the game is that every time I use the arrow keys my screen scrolls in different directions – not just the game, but the entire screen. Like every time I use the down arrow key the screen scrools downward and I can’t see the game, so I, constantly having to fix it so I can see. It’s usually while I’m battling and that distracts me so much that I lose a lot of life. I wish there was some whay they could make the game full-screen or modify the direction keys so this wouldn’t happen. It’s really frustrating. :lionomad: :cheetaramad::mad:
I love how the characters are drawn in the ad for these games, it’s exactly how I would want them for a new cartoon series! I think Warner Brothers is testing the waters to see how the kids respond to the Cats. But if this eventually means a new ThunderCats cartoon (with Larry Kenney, Peter Newman, and Lynne Lipton reprising their old roles), I’ll be among the first to dash to my TV on Saturday mornings! Hooo!
I had the same problem with Internet Explorer. Then I tried it with Firefox and the problem was solved.
