Well at least the episodes are in widescreen and we will finally get to see the intro.
That poster is way better than the dvd covers. I’m not even gonna buy the DVD´s until a complete set is out.
Yeah, don’t bet on it having an intro. If there is one they’re keeping it a huge surprise (though I wouldn’t put that past them). But there has been no word whatsoever of there being an intro on the DVDs.
I’m actually fine with the intro length. When I watch the OS on DVd or even other tv shows on DVD, I pretty much always skip through the opening star credits or intro song. I even got tired of watching the Airbender intro after awhile.
What!? The original Thundercats intro is EPIC man! lol The SilverHawks intro isn’t too far behind 
Anyways I know things have changed and yadda yadda yadda but I just can’t shake the feeling that this is a “milking the cow” move what with this DVD coming out so fast. If you think about it, the DVD’s were probably already in production by the time we were getting episode 7 or 8.
Oh, I agree that the original intro was epic. But especially if I’m watching episode after episode, I’ll grow tired of watching the intro every time. 
It does seem, to an extent, that their real focus is profit. We’ll see though.
Of course they were. Why wouldn’t they have been? the DVDs were announced way before those two episodes.
The difference is that it was a decade-old cartoon with a primarily-adult audience and no merchandising tie-in. Whereas this is a cartoon that is currently running and its success is gauged, more than anything, on toy sales.
Which, ultimately, is irrelevant to me anyway. Try to sell me an overpriced barebones release and you’ll fail; the vague possibility of a better release down the line isn’t going to make me MORE likely to buy a thing I don’t want. If I really want to blow $16 on a Thundercats product to show WB I’m interested, I’ll buy a toy.
The original-series DVD’s are an insult too. Shoddy VHS-quality transfers, the TV cut of the pilot, episodes out of chronological order, and the people who put the set together apparently looked up the number of seasons the show ran on IMDb.
Oh, and it’s now available in a version with 33% as many episodes for 89% of the price.
