I’m sure Jaga will die heroically, and I too am leaning towards Mumm-Ra being the one who takes him down. However, to me the real question is should Mumm-Ra take down Jaga or Claudus, cause if it’s Claudus then Lion-O would have a personal reason for wanting Mumm-Ra dead. That would also make for a better story in my opinion.
I’m guessing he’ll die at the hands of MumRa, as a way to buy Lion-O time to get the Sword of Omens working for him. In the trailers so far the Eye Of Thundera appears to be dormant and only comes to life after Lion-O does the Thunder Thunder Thundercats HO! bit. I doubt I’m even close to what actually happens, but I do love to speculate.
Granted, but no one took his life nor was he in any kind of battle when he died. And in the end, he essentially just gave up and willfully died, doing a Yoda kind of death. Eh.
You’re missing the point entirely. Just having a building fall on him would be such a waste. I’d rather have him not die at all than have something that trivial happen to him.
He didn’t just “give up and die.” He sacrificed himself to give everyone else a chance.

I understand that he sacrificed himself. Though I’m sure he realized he would not live long enough to make it to Third Earth. I think it would have made more sense to allow Tygra or Panthro to pilot it for the remainder of the trip since even though they would age, they likely would have lived long enough to pilot it the whole way. Though that would be a different discussion entirely.
Even if a building falling on him killed him, it would still be the Mutants fault hence it’s not just some kind of anti-climatic death, it would be a death caused by battle, the same as if some random mutant stabbed him, which isn’t likely. It could be just as heroic if the reason he got crushed by a building was that he was saving lives…
Anyhoo, not a reason to get upset. It’s just that we don’t have much to really talk about yet.

Is anyone else refreshing that “Thunder Thursdays” page every 10 minutes hoping for an update? lol
I just saw today’s installment of Thunder Thursdays and it’s awesome! I love the landscapes. They really took their time and did their homework with designing this new show! I’m just so excited for this and I can hardly wait for the premier. The updates get better each Thursday.

I think the other question to ask is what kind of relationship (if any) Lion-O has to Jaga in the new show. If Jaga has a similar mentor style role to Lion-O as he did in the original show then it makes sense that Lion-O would be just as devestated about Jaga’s death as that of his father’s.
So what could happen is that Claudius dies at the hands of Grune and then MumRa kills Jaga. Which gives Lion-O two very different enemies to face off against. MumRa being the main threat. I think that would allow them to develop MumRa’s threat in a more gradual way. I suspect we’ll be seeing ghostly Jaga and Claudius in the new series. Assuming Claudius dies and is not taken prisoner (locked up in MumRa’s pyramid). Not long till we found out how things are going to pan out.
I’d like there to be several threats. I don’t like it when everything is orchestrated by mumm-ra. Grune should not work together with mumm-ra and the mutants either. I wan’t all villains to have different motives and occasionally working together to reach a goal.
Anyway I don’t want Mumm-ra to act like the big boss. That’s the only concern I have
Well we know the mutants are supposed to work separately from each other this time around, but Grune’s action figure had Mumm’Ra’s symbol on him. That might suggest he works for Mumm-Ra.
Well, there have always been that one big boss masterminding everything, and I personally wouldn’t mind if they all work under Mumm-Ra. Sure like the old series they might not work willingly for him, but under his power they’ll be forced to.
Even if they are working for MumRa I suspect they will have their own goals.
Anyway I don’t want Mumm-ra to act like the big boss. That’s the only concern I have
MumRa is the servant of the Ancient Spirits of Evil. He’s doing their bidding first and foremost.
I’m guessing Grune is working towards releasing MumRa (it sounds like MumRa may not be able to leave his pyramid given the scene with Jaga. Looks like MumRa has been released from something). I also think Grune will use the mutants probable hatred of the Thundercats to his advantage to pull off whatever scheme he and MumRa have planned for the Thundercats.
