Found some awesome new production images from the new show on IGN. character turnarounds and stuff like that.

I have to say, I was already excited by the news of this coming last year when we first heard about it, but now the more I see and the more i hear about it, I really cant wait for this to come out, I feel like i did when i was five (24 years ago) and saw my first episode on CBBC, but even more excited, if this makes sense.

I just wish I could see the little ā€œaction poseā€ thumbnails better. lol

I think some of the sketches might be earlier versions of the characters. For instance on Cheetara her face markings on the top sketches are more like the RB Cheetara. and her hair and costume is slightly different. interesting stuff.

o.O no. what makes you ask that? theyā€™re production images. Character sheets for the animators.

Edit: I guess you asked cause it was on IGN. lol took me a min to think of that. But no IGN has stuff on movies and stuff as well as games.

Thanks for this. I like them more nowā€¦ except for Panthro, donā€™t like his design.

I think Slithe is the one who resembles the most his original cartoon.

I think Mumm-Ra has the most resemblance. Tho looks like they completely replaced his old cape with the wings. I like Panthro. Kinda wish he was still completely bald and still wore blue, but over all I like all the new designs.

Thanks for posting the link! These are great! Itā€™s nice to see a more detailed look at the character animation.

I will say - the kittens tails look weird to me. Mainly due to the color. I would think their tails should be the same color as their hair. Which Wilykatā€™s kind of is, but Kitā€™s isnā€™t at all.

And maybe itā€™s just me, but Kitā€™s skirt borderlines on obscene I think. Sheā€™s a child and I think sheā€™s dressing a little too, umā€¦ provacatively for a child. Just my opinion. Yeah, I know they all started out being naked at the beginning of the OS, which I never understood. And I know she had the pixie skirt like that back then as well, but this somehow looks worse. Maybe itā€™ll actually look better in the actual cartoon. But even Cheetaraā€™s clothes look more decent than Kitā€™s skirt.

This is great news! First this and the new Voltron premieres today, which series will have better overall success?

My guess will be Thundercats. Not because Iā€™m biased (tho I am), but because Voltron is airing on Nicktoons instead of Nickelodeon and because the animation looks really sloppy and dated. Thundercats looks like it has much higher production values and is on CN and not a CN spinoff channel.

Yeah i agree! this new Voltron does not grab my attention IMO it should have been anime at least.

These images are obviously animation production guidelines.

However, I am 100% sure that there will be one or even more video games based on the new franchiseā€¦ and maybe on the old too? We can dream for the momentā€¦

Iā€™d kill for Higher Res versions of these. and the Twins almost made me melt in to goo with how cute they are.
