The Sword of Plunn-dar was in the OS. it was the one Mumm-Ra used where the hilt looked like snakes wrapped around each other and it had a blade on each end. He liked to twirl it around. The hilt looks different in this version, but the blades are similar.
It was introduced in the return of the thundercubs 5 parter. Mumm-ra didn’t really use it often despite the claims of it being a super powerful weapon
It was in the original series. Mumm-Ra retrieved it from New ThunDera. According to OS, the owner of the sword (before Mumm-Ra) was Ratilla (from the same group of mutants as Ratar-O)
Interesting that there could possibly be an episode with Ratilla! 
Makes it seem even more likely that Mumm-Ra is a mummified mutant. I noticed in the image of the Mumm-Ra toy that there are red circles on his weapons like the one in the sword of omens.

I’ll bet Birth of the Blades will be the birth of the Sword of Plundarr which has 2 blades. I doubt it’ll have anything to do with the origin of the sword of omens.
I agree. I think this will be the introduction episode of the Sword of Plun-Darr for sure.
That or it will be introduced in ‘Curse of Ratilla’ and then in ‘Birth Of The Blades’ is when Mumm-Ra gets his hands on it to use against the ThunderCats.
before the premiere Ethan Spalding had a short interview where he said they’d go into the origin of the Sword of Omens. and with the similar stones and stuff with both the swords (and gloves) I believe they’re connected in some way.
Possibly. They could also introduce the history of the sword of omens in “Sight Beyond Sight.”
I wonder if this won’t have something to do with Jaga. Perhaps he dies in those episodes and begins appearing to Lion-O as his ghostly figure.

The only way I could see them replacing Claudus with Jaga as Lion-O’s guide is to have Larry Kenney come back for more episodes.

Yep that was what I was thinking about, as I thought it was confirmed that Larry would only voice Claudus in the first 2 episodes.
However if Jaga does come back in ghost form, yeah it will probably be explained that it’s because he was a magical being.
You’re not dreaming. Near the end of the series, Lion-O discovered via nightmares that his father is being held by an entity called the “Shadowmaster”, who apparently took Claudus to gain favor with the ancient spirits of evil. Lion-O saves him, but he is no longer among the living – so he becomes a “ghost” and he is side by side with Jaga.
Larry Kenney has hinted he might be back for more episodes. But I would guess if he is it would probably be for flashback scenes.
I would explain it because Jaga was a cleric. I’m guessing he’s more spiritual, I think that’s what the word “cleric” refers to. Why could Obi-Wan Kenobe and Yoda and Anakin appear to Luke after they died but not Padme? I think because they were more spiritual and pursued that in life. Likewise, the difference between Jaga and Claudus? That’s how I’d explain it.
Has someone read or heard somewhere that Claudus is supposed to appear again in ghostly form? 
Larry Kenney is a talented voice actor. He could be back to do other parts as well?
