New 6" Classic toy line from Mattel!

Personally I would prefer the main cast first and then the secondary characters. I will however try to get everything. I just wonder when TC subscriptions will open. If the first figure is coming out in July 2016 it probably won’t be too far away. I don’t know how these subs work in this regard.

I’d like the main cast first with maybe a couple non main cast characters. I really hope we don’t go down the route of D-list characters and multiple unwanted variants of main cast characters.

With the exception of Chilla I can’t see myself wanting any of the other Lunatacks. The only way I would possibly want them would be unless they looked absolutely amazing because in the cartoon I had no interest in them at all.

I do hope we get a multi pack of Berbils. I will totally army build them. And some Trologs and Giantors (Megator recolour).

What if they did the Rock Giant as an over sized item.

And Snowmeow is super easy Battlecat recolour.

Battle Cat recolored as Snowmeow would definitely make my day.

^ SNOWMEOW would rock.

Its nuts. I’m excited for this line after seeing how deep they took MOTUC to. Yet, I’m terrified at the financial commitment to a line like this. After seeing that Snake Mountain they just debuted I would have little willpower for a similar Cat’s Lair or Mumm-ra’s Tomb.

Large playsets must seem like they cost a lot.

I really like the designs of the 2011 reboot, It would be cool to get figures of those at some point.

Does Matty ever reissue figures after their initial sellout? Looking in their shop on their site there is some MOTUC stuff available that I figured would have already been long gone (She-Ra figure, Grayskull playset, ect)

new line

I am beyond exited!!..cannot belive this is really happening!..ive been posing and suggesting Mattel give Thundercats the same treatment they gave He Man…specifically with FH…ive probably posted and nagged and suggested it bout 40 times…lol…in all of my posts my strongest argument is always about investing in a possible thundercats mattel line…so now that a line is underway…i wanna restate: I WILL BUY EVERYTHING, SEVERAL OF EACH, SUBSCRIPTIONS, ETC…EVERYTHING MATTEL MAKES THUNDERCATS I WILL BUY!..PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY…LOL…waited all my life for this upcoming line…hope all fellow thundercats fan support this line!..this is what weve been waiting for, i truly think this is it for us,last chance to get this wonderful franchise a deserving updated toy line… lets support it 100% so we can get all of those characters weve always dreamed of: Lunatacs, mandora, warrior maidens, feliner etc…

Oh that is good news :).

That’s awesome to hear! I understand the re-use of bucks but really want them all to be as cartoon accurate as possible!

You guys should check out this poll at TNI:

http://toynewsi.com/

So far 253 votes and about half are excited about the line. And then there are those who won’t buy the figures if Digital River or subscription is involved.

If all their demands are to be met, then this line will never take off.

I saw the footage from SDCC, i am very content with the Mattel announcement about producing Thundercats. The older fans in the forum were screaming for such a treatment and we desperately wanted a bona fide company to make some great memorabilia.

I believe that Mattel should have got the license 4 years ago, when the new series got out and after many decades of Thunderctas remaining in limbo, boost up the franchise in the proper way. I am one of the proponents of the belief that Bandai harmed the Thundercats property and instead of backing up with some great Figures and playsets the new show, damaged it by putting out mediorcre toyline with bad choices both design wise and artistically.

I want to see more from Mattel, to be honest, the Lion-O figure i saw at the Video at the SDCC panel wasn’t exactly what i had in mind. It’s still far from the LJN Classic line. Lion-o was stocky and short, with a Sabretooth look a like face, resembling more to the He- Man counterpart. But it’s still too early to pass any judgement.
I think after so many years of us fans, supporting the 30 year old cartoon and still buying the amazing LJN Thundercats toys, it is imperative to finally give us a commemorative Toyline, reminiscent to the great looking 80s Thundercats.

I would die to finally have the chance to go at the stores and be able to pick from the shelf a Lion-O like this:

MOTUC fans are very vocal and very active which is why the line has done well. IF Thundercats Classics is going to be successful, Thundercats Lair.com needs to be its own advocate.

But yeah not every demand is going to me met.

Lion - O’s eyebrows look fine to me…

The eyebrows on the prototype will almost certainly be adjusted before it goes to production.

I, for one, would MUCH rather they be cartoon accurate than being updates of the old toys. That Jackalman Magikz just showed is a perfect example. The old toy looked more like a gremlin than Jackalman.

Also, I’m more worried about the sword than the eyebrows (though they do need to be thinned a little). The cat is upside down!

I completely agree. I am a huge fan of the LJN line and it is timeless to me. Having said this I want them to bring the cartoon to life in figure form!

I agree 100% … Thundercats.org need to be more vocal! We need all the guys from he-man.org that is TC’s fans to stand together and get Thundercats.org to boost this line like they(we) did the MOTUC line!! :liono

Can the moderators please create a section for this line in the forums so it’s easy for new fans to get involved ?
adssse guided me to this thread as I didn’t know where the new line was discussed. Didn’t think to look under 2011 ThunderCats Toys …

The 2011 ThunderCats Toys forum category has always been the main forum to discuss all modern TC toys post-2011 which till now involved figures by Bandai, Mezco and possible future lines (which is now being materialized by Mattel).

I think we could rename the forum Modern ThunderCats Toys so it becomes easier to identify or create a new forum all together. Stay tuned.

Thanks Vivek!
