New 6" Classic toy line from Mattel!

This is the best news I’ve heard in years … I’m already dreaming of a Mattel driller and warrior maidens … Lol

But on the other hand I’ve just learnt they are only going to be available via mattycollector subscription which basically ****es all over me as a UK resident :frowning:

What about non US collectors Mattel ? Seems a little harsh to write off the entire overseas collector community

But I’m still Thrilled about the line and can’t wait to be scalped to death when I buy them on eBay…

I have been talking about these new Thundercats figures to almost everyone I have come into contact with I am so excited (I believe that many think I am now crazy haha). It is going to be tough to wait a full year, but hopefully there are many details that will continue to come out to feed my desires. I am eager to hear the details of how this subscription will work as I need to start saving and have no experience with the process.

I would suggest you send them a message on their forums to address that situation, they listen to fans!

Here is more video footage of the sdcc ThunderCats panel from Matty! Fast forward to 34:30

Thanks for the video, this is so exciting I can’t even believe it. I am DEFINATELY buying a subscription even though I never did for motu and hated the idea of them. Any Tcats figure by the 4H I’ll buy. Thanks for listening Mattel!!!

I too am from the UK, and am interested in this new line, but from reading the information online it appears that the subs are not friendly to overseas.

How can a major company like this not have delivery hubs available in other parts of the world that will help with the fan base?

Currently all ThunderCats queries need to be asked in the above Ask Matty forum. I guess we can’t expect a dedicated TCats forum category until 2016. I wish it was created now early on so all TCats queries and discussion becomes easier to find and thus getting their attention.

For now I found these two TCats threads there.

I didn’t have the Subscription for the MOTUC line, but I think it was available for international fans. It just might became a process and little pricey overall if one doesn’t intend to have every figure from the line, which they will end up having to buy regardless. But this shouldn’t be a problem for TCats fans, as we want to buy all the character figures anyways.

Check out the following page for more info about MOTUC Subscription. One is bi-monthly shipment and the other one is triple shipment option. (Scroll down the page to see the Subscription Cost details).

Collector’s Choice Subscription Bi-Monthly

Collector’s Choice Subscription Triple Shipment Option

Membership fee is $25 (for one year), then it’s the individual figure price every month. It’s very likely TC figures will also be in the range of $25 per figure. Not including shipping/taxes. Once purchased, memberships may not be cancelled.

The problem I have with the ask matty section is only mods can reply to threads. What are people supposed to do? Just keep creating new threads? Seems messy and counterproductive to me.

Your very welcome! I think this video will answer a lot of people’s question, including mine
(Also mentioning of possible SilverHawks and TigerSharks):

Major coolness.

In 42:30 they mentioned about TigerSharks and SilverHawks…what they said ???

Yes, they did. It could be a long time before Mattel ever explores those two franchises, though.

They could maybe explore those lines away from ThunderCats classic, but we have to make some noise and tell them to make it happen!

That’s right!

Thanks so much !

To make it happens, I suggest TC community join forces with MOTU fans…

That’s the best way to take the entire ThunderCats and their spin-offs released…

For sure. Let’s make our voices heard.

This is SUPER EXCITING news! Can’t believe that the ThunderCats are finally getting a new and good toyline based on the original series’ look. Fans have been requesting, begging, yearning for this for years!

I have to admit that I was never a fan of Bandai’s take on the 1980’s figures in their “Classics” line. I don’t know if it was the articulation or the sculpting but the 8" and 6" figures look more like Artists’ Mannequins than action figures.

The MOTU Classics figures are beautiful! Superbly sculpted and great proportions and anatomy. The Lion-O prototype looks just fantastic! The face could use a little tweaking as already mentioned by others here. But nevertheless, a great figure. I just hope they don’t stop at 2 figures.

I may be getting greedy (although I feel blessed to have any new Thundercats figures available) because I am hoping for some of the more obscure characters that I have always wanted!

Quick Pick
Zaxx
Pyron
Wizz-ra
Pumm-ra

And it goes without saying how much I would really like to see Claudus, Lunatacs, Mandora, Warrior Maidens etc. Heck I would even like a Snarfer (don’t shoot me). It seems like if this line gets enough support their are so many characters that could be produced!!

Here’s to believing Mattel will explore the more-obscure characters in the “ThunderCats” brand.

I am sure they will explore more characters. I just hope that all TC support this line. I just hope they get to make the core characters beyond Lion-O and Mumm-Ra. This is going to make a big hole in my pocket as I am in South Africa. The shipping will be more than the actual figure. I am not going to mind as we all have been waiting for a new line since for ever.

Pretty sure they’re going for more than just the basic characters. In fact if I’m remembering Pixel Dan’s interview correctly they specifically said they’re not going to give all the main cast first. They’re going to give a couple, then have other characters, then continue main cast, etc.
