I haven’t seen anyone on here actually say it’s not reflective in the show. Just that they are not upset that Mattel had made it more of a fur design as a homage to LJN. It was reflective and used as a shield. I’m just saying the look of the fur shield isn’t all that awful. I guarantee most casual fans don’t even realize it because the shield had a fur like design. Today at Toyfare we get to see up close shots of these figures so maybe we will have something new to be happy/unhappy about.
I wish they were doing more unique bodies instead of them all looking the same. I know it was okay for MOTU as they were trying to replicate the look of vintage toys but the original LJN toys and the cartoon had them all with different builds and heights.
Aside from the fur I also think it is far to big looking for the figure.
Excited to see all the stuff at Toy Fair.

Any news from Toy Fair?
The four horseman tend to make a lot of their portraits a little long with prominent cheek bones, eyes that slant and sometimes too big of a chin. Look at their DC Universe Superman. I think that’s what makes Lion-O look a little off. I still think this is 100 times better than their first version. That being said, I think there will always be things we will want to tweak.

Face sculpting with 4H has always been hit and miss in my opinion. The current Lion-o’s face is a lot better than the original prototype.
I always thought the first MOTUC He-man face sculpt was very poor also. It was an odd ix up of vintage toy, toy card art and the Filmation cartoon and didn’t really look like either.

If I’m not mistaken, I think the first Lion-O prototype used He-Man’s face/head with the hair added on.

Seeing the Thundercats and MOTU should be interesting Really would like to see some of the of the planned 2017 figures along with Snake Mountain.
Really excited though to see what NECA, Diamond Select and Hasbro will be showing. I have heard rumours of Hasro bringing back M.A.S.K., Visionaries and Micronauts so I really hope they have some prototypes to show. Also Hasbro will be showing the new 24" Fortress Maximus from Transormers and possible a rival Decepticon for him like Trypticon or Scorponok.
Hopefully a they also show all the 2016 Marvel Legends figures for Captain America: Civil War, Dr Strange and X-Men.
Persoanlly I hope Playmates say if they are adding anymore figures to their Classics TMNT line.
Really excited about what stuff DC Collectibles will be showing. They have showed some amazing stuff already like a 30" 2x seater Batwing for the Animated line.
Diamond Select usually always have some awesome figures on display. Their Ghostbusters are amazing. Far superior to Mattel and 4H versions.
NECA has some cool stuff on display in their video game line with Castlevania. 1/4 scale 1990 movie Turtles and a Rocky Anniversary line.

Oddly enough the 200X He-man figure also had a poor face sculpt. The original prototype version 4H made was vastly superior. He looked like King Grayskull. 
Speaking personally, as a kid I always thought the claw was furry. It honestly never made sense to me that it showed Mumm-Ra’s reflection (I mean why didn’t Lion-O just use the sword?). As an adult I realize it couldn’t be reflective AND furry, but it’s still obviously not metal (it never reflects anything but Mumm-Ra and it’s way too flexible). I would explain it as part of the magic of the claw instead of some strange metallic coating.
I believe he also showed him his reflection in the sword at least once.
When I was a child I always thought it was a mixture of material but mostly metal. Like the underside was fur/leather and top was metal plate parts since they had all the gadgets.
The Mattel FB page just shared a design sketch of Mumm-Ra; interestingly, as well as the staff, the sketch also suggests the hilt of the Sword of Plun-Darr (sans blades) as an accessory.

Yes? Having a thick glove stop weapons would obviously make more sense than a furry glove being reflective. It could’ve always had a metal piece under the leather, fur or whatever.

Frankly the differences could be easily explained as Snowmeow just having longer fur than the Claw Shield. It was obviously made to resemble a Lion’s paw. It shouldn’t be a stretch to believe that many people see it as fur.
Enough with the CLAW already…any news from NYCC?

When you put it like that it could really be either point. I can’t remember a time in the show where they explained the claw shield too in depth. Also if we are going off texture and what was drawn the glove has the same color throughout yet the fingers move. I think all comes down to this being a show made for kids and they never figured they would have to explain every small detail. So the claw shield is made out of whatever material you want it to be. Maybe it is has kind of sentience or mental link with Lion-O and creates a hard surface when fighting or defending. While we are being technical let’s discuss where all that hundreds of feet of rope goes when the claws shoot off to grapple onto something?

I 100% agree with you. A Jaga, Ratillia 2 pack with sword of plundar and treasure of thundera would be the best toy combo period.

Maybe the claw is like Witchblade’s armour LOL. Maybe it’s just half and half like the old LJN toy. The back top / fore arm section being metal and just the hand being a thick material. to allow hand movement. I actually kind of preferred the 2011 series shield in a way as it at least had four fingers and a thumb. Always found it odd that the original claw shield had three finger.
