New 6" Classic toy line from Mattel!

I’m beyond stoked that this is actually happening.

They are all being built using the basic MOTUC buck bodies so asking for unique heights and sculpts for certain figures is not going to happen.

I just keep staring at that group shot from the Matty’s e-mail thinking how amazing it will be to have a huge collection of T-cats. I’m really pushing for this line to continue for a while.

I feel the same way. I don’t think I could be any more excited about this line. But having said that I get more giddy after each reveal.

I know these are prototypes, but I really hope they use the new MOTU Filmation He-Man body as it has better ankle and wrist articulation.

I agree but I see that the ankles are getting a lot of complaints already. The look of them aren’t the best but it’s nice to add a little more to the articulation and make for some different posing options. Something the Classics line had a serious lack of.

Jackalman looks amazing…anyone that’s going to start comparing real life jackals to lions is just plain silly…

I’m afraid ure the one without a point since I mentioned nothing Jackalman fluctuating in musculature…I was explicitly referring to ur real jackal and real lion comparison which has no application in a pure fantasy cartoon…either way…figures look amazing!

Any idea how many subscriptions matty collector need to keep the line going into 2017 and beyond

I dont think anything like that has been revealed. There is no subscription-meter like in years past with MOTUC. Obviously there is a $ amount in mind for them where this is/isn’t worth their effort/time, but who knows what that is.

I would prefer better articulation an posing options. The ankles are like some of the older Marvel Legends figures. Hasbro’s new ankle rocker joint they use on their Marvel Legends is really nice.

Toyguru said there is not meter. Also with Thundercats being a licenced product they will make them for as long as they hold the licence.

Well the Ghostbusters were also a license and the Ecto-1 had a meter. So you never know. I personally doubt that Club Third Earth won’t go through, tho.

This year’s CTE is pretty much guaranteed to go through from the sounds of it. I think the future makeup of the line will depend on how this year does.

Like, if they sell x thousand, they might decide to just offer the Cats, mutants, Mumm-Ra and a couple of supporting characters before finishing. Maybe they only offer a six-month sub for 2017.

If they sell 2x thousand subs, they might also offer the Lunataks and all the major supporting cast, perhaps the Thundertank. They might offer a full 12-month sub for 2017.

If they sell 3x thousand subs, they might do the other vehicles, more obscure characters, maybe even a playset. The 2017 sub might be a full year plus quarterly items and bonus offerings.

(None of these are actual things btw - I just believe they will have different roadmaps for the line depending on how successful the sub is)

The day of sales will also be important to the line’s continued existence, but crucially Mattel will not have any idea what those will be by the time they have to decide on the form of the 2017 sub.

its just a cartoon… SON!..lol…figures look amazing!..dont like them dont buy them

In the latest Roast Gooble podcast, it was stated that these would all get the new articulated ankles and wrists.

Even various MOTUC are off in terms of builds. Just look at all the New Adventures characters.
I wish T4H had put more effort into tooling a new chest and shoulders to allow the figures to grip the weapons properly with both hands.
Also they really need to use a real chain on Panthro’s nunchucks. When they could give Conan…I mean Vikor  real chains on his gauntlets/shackles they can give Panthro some.

Have you lot seen the release version of the Filmation He-Man? Bit of a step down from the prototype version. I’m not much of a He-Man fan but I was going to get this and Skeletor. I think I’ll pass now. Hopefully the Thundercats line
doesn’t suffer from this much of a drop off from proto to release version.

Hopefully. I still think the Filmation He-Man looks really nice.

The New Adventures of He-Man toys all had slimmer builds as well.

The same could also be said for Bow from She-Ra whose toy also had a much slimmer build.
Regardless of how they looked in the cartoon and toys, most will just be fitted on the standard MOTUC buck.
