So they re think the idea of opening the subs with out telling everybody… Well at least that is going to give them more exposure, because it was kind of rushing from Friday to Monday…

I must say I was surprised to see 3 (4 if you count in Jaga) ThunderCats in the first six characters to be released.
I don’t mind it, I mean the faster we get the A list characters the better for us, come to think about it, MOTUC also started like this, the first year was very big hits and then it got spread out.
Just hope we get at least all ThunderCats and Mutants out of the line … 
Like others said, just glad we got some confirmation of the line up, no we know what to look forward too!
I am so excited for Grune!! He is my favorite villain!! So I will be getting three of my favorite characters from the show in the first batch! AWESOME!! Thanks Mattel!!

Yes, MOTUC got the majority of core characters out in the first year then followed up most of the other in the second year.

Exactly. Then it’s just a matter of having to hope the finished Mattel products match the Four Horsemen prototypes.

I’m stoked by this announcement. Super happy to see Pumyra in there. I really just hope she is done justice as the first female off the starting block. With the current way the dollar is trading towards the rand it makes it a very expensive exercise. I also don’t think I can wait 3 - 4 weeks at a time to have the items arrive. Do you guys think that the Mumm-Ra sub exclusive will be included with the first 3 items shipped if you choose that option? I mean, will it then be 4 items? Also - does anybody know whether the $25 is deducted on release and then postage charged only when it is shipped (if you choose the 3 items at a time option)? Seeing as they can’t charge for postage with each figure when you ship the lot together. Or do they charge you the whole lot at once?

Good question Sebastiaan. I would also like to know that. Like you said with the exchange rate it makes it very expensive. If it keeps weakening just think what a figure will cost by July.

I would be worried if she were the first female, but because of all the females in MOTU I think they will get her right. They really improved with the females on a bunch of the figures this past year. I’m curious to see how Mumm-ra turned out with the robes and completely new parts.

Mumm-Ra is listed as September with Pumyra, so if nothing goes wrong he should be in the first consignment if you choose the quarterly option.
I’ve used both monthly and quarterly options with the MOTUC subscriptions in the past, and presumably the Thundercats sub would work the same. So if you choose quarterly:
When you sign up for the sub (in February, I guess), you will be charged the $25 subscription fee. Importantly, this fee covers the cost of Mumm-Ra.
In July and August Matty will put aside your Lion-O and Jackalman; you will not be charged.
In September, you will be charged $75 (for Lion-O, Jackalman and Pumyra) PLUS shipping for FOUR figures (Lion-O, Jackalman, Pumyra and Mumm-Ra). Remember that you already paid for Mumm-Ra back in February, so you will not be charged again for the figure itself, just for shipping it.
After that you will not be charged again until December, when you will be charged $75 again (for Panthro, Grune and Jaga), plus shipping for three figures.

So this is an admittedly stupid question, and I’m sure it’s been answered somewhere in this thread, but do we have any idea when they plan on letting us purchase a subscription? Really looking forward to this line and I hope it brings some renewed interest and fresh faces into the world of Thundercats collecting.

Best bet is next month; they said February when discussing the sub last year, and it lets them show off most/all of the figures at Toy Fair. I’d expect an actual date announcement any time now, though, now that word of the line-up is filtering around various toy sites.

As a newb to the whole sub thing I really appreciate info like this. I am so excited for this line as it has been a long time coming. I can’t wait to see some of the other character designs!

Thanks temple. I assumed that regardless of monthly or quarterly option, the buyer still would be charged each month for the figures. Good to know that quarterly would result in a single charge for 3 figures only on the third month.

No problem; I’m still undecided about whether to go monthly or quarterly for the sub. On one hand, I’d love a figure to look forward to every month. On the other, you really do save a reasonable chunk of change having only two deliveries instead of six, especially here in the UK. (And the costs for collectors in, say, Australia are astronomical)
It is the added cost of postage to the UK that is really putting me off getting a subscription.

Yet the linked page doesn’t have Third Earth subscription listed there.
I checked it out Vivek and I see that the subs are not there when you click on the link. It doesn’t look too good if figures are pushed back or does it just mean that it won’t be ready for production by then. Now we have to wait longer. I just hope that this do happen this year.
The announcement now has been removed. Guess they are finally fixing the subscription page and will then make the needed announcement again.
The pushing of release date is probably cause they can’t make the production deadline. I am fine with two figures delayed by two months instead of rushing production.
