I must be missing it as I didn’t see it at the link but that is a bummer if they are holding back Grune and Jags as I was really looking forward to them. Why would they be holding them back I wonder? At one point didn’t they say they had 10 designed? Are they going to be doing an initial sub for 5 and the follow up sub also with 5? With all these details changing it has been pretty confusing for a first timer looking to sub.
Just saw your update that it was removed.
I guess a smaller sub will be easier on my wallet. If delaying them is what it takes for the fans to get the best product than I can wait. I just really want this line to be handled with the utmost respect and outstanding quality.

The funny thing is that history repeats itself. This also happened with MOTUC when the line started with He-Man and Beastman

That is correct it did. He-Man and Beastman both ended up being released in December 2008.
And even with the delay they still suffered quality control problems. All the first run He-Man figures were assembled with the shoulders on the wrong way around.
Yeah, it’s a shame, but I’d rather wait an extra couple of months than have them rush the figures. Maybe they had some production samples come out badly so are going back to the drawing board? Who knows. With just four months of subscription, I guess they might replace the quarterly option with just a ‘get everything in December’ option?
I wonder if they still plan to do the SDCC figure/figures?

Ya, that is an interesting question about shipping. I myself would be willing to do one large shipment.

Also, in the (now deleted) update, the figures had suddenly jumped to $30 each; that’s… quite a jump.
Good news on the single shipment option, though; it’ll be an early Christmas present!
Wasn’t it already $30 for regular purchase and it was reduced $25 for subscribers only?
Or are we now looking at $30 for subscribers and $35 is the regular price? Single shipment option is indeed a good alternative. Just need to develop that level of patience.

It had changed to $30 subscription and $35 day of sale… but until they actually put up a final sales page that stays up so we can see what’s going on, I guess there’s no point in worrying about it.
EDIT: The sub pages are back up, and say they go live tomorrow. Guess we’ll see, huh?

It’s a little bummer that the prices have been increased. People who don’t subscribe and just want to buy selected figures will contemplate whether $35 for a 6" figure is worth it. I hope Matty doesn’t increase the figure price further during the second year in 2017. Though it happened after couple of years, MOTUC went from $20 to $27 per figure.

So they’re delaying the figures 2 months, removing 2 figures, AND raising the price.
This is not a good start, and really doesn’t increase my confidence in MattyCollector.
We’ve got a month to subscribe, so depending on if they have decent pictures/information about the changes up on the site when it goes live tomorrow, I might wait for Toyfair reveals first.
Going from cheaper than MOTU figures to more expensive than them is a bit of a downer, but if they can show that the money is being well-spent (lots of unique sculpting, beautiful paint apps), I can at least justify it to myself because I WANT to love this line, honestly.

Wow, the rise in price is a major bummer! I will still sub but that really starts to add up for me.
It will be extremely hard to wait until Dec but I am leaning towards the single shipment.
I think this big price rise per figure plus the huge cost of shipping overseas, has priced me out of becoming a subscriber.
Really gutted…
I hope the line works out for you guys and it becomes a success. Then hopefully something will come along for those who will miss out this time around.

I must admit, I am sorry to hear they dropped Grune and Jaga fot this year, but that is the way it goes … had same issues with MOTUC.
I was thinking about Panthro, and to me if they stick to the lines of the 14" Mezco Panthro, I will be stoked! To me he is by far the best Panthro toy ever, and the most accurate!
I hate the subscription method. Why they don’t just make a series of figures and put them on their website and be done with it instead of dragging it out to one each month I honestly don’t know.
When DC Collectibles can release figures at retail and on web sites based on the early 90’s Batman cartoon I honestly do not understand at all why Mattel cannot do the same with MOTU and Thundercats.
I’m very happy that they offer a combo shipment for all the figures. I have read that they’ll only charge you the lot when you ship them in December (excluding Mumm-Ra which you pay for on subscription). Is this definite? I have to get my new credit card before the end of Feb then otherwise it will be a disaster if they charge me now but when December comes, it has already expired. I know they say that only after the first item has shipped can you change it, but what if you ship the lot in December only?! This combined shipment makes for a good time to save up properly throughout the year and make it worthwhile to have it delivered with FedEx or whatever courier they use.
