If Lion-O is the one to end up with Cheetara, then I would really like it if it was after a few years and he grew up a little more. She just seems too old for him. It would help if we knew their ages.
As for the tension between Lion-O and Tygra, they might be jealous of each other for different reasons. Tygra could be jealous because of the obvious reasons; he’s adopted and Lion-O is the one to become Lord, even though he’s older. Lion-O could be jealous of Tygra because he thinks Tygra’s so much cooler than he is and gets more of the attention. or something like that.
I just don’t see Tygra being jealous. I could see them making Lion-O jealous of Tygra. Play this possible scenario - Tygra was adopted so he can’t become Lord of the ThunderCats, but Tygra is a champion of the people. Everyone loves Tygra and he has the charisma and personality to respond to them to make them love him even more. He is Claudus’s right hand man and has been given thus far much more responsibility than Lion-O as such. Lion-O is perhaps a little quieter, more reserved than Tygra, so the people don’t have the same kind of love for him as they do Tygra. Tygra is relational, Lion-O has a harder time forming relationships with people. I could see this scenario. In the trailers, Tygra comes across as the champion type and Lion-O seems more like the quiet cub who isn’t all that great in the spotlight. Just a thought.

Now we have an anime and at least one writer from Avatar to influence the storyline. I keep thinking it would be cool to cross Airbender with ThunderCats to where the ThunderCats can bend elements. Lion-O would be able to bend them all, Tygra air, Cheetara fire, Panthro earth, Kit & Kat water. That’d be so cool.
Well my first thought was you meant you voiced a character in the original series, not Cheetara. Then I thought that’s what you meant your own made up characters, but I thought I would ask. Did you create your character at another web site? If I could make up my own character for the show, Lion-O could have Cheetara, I’d hook my character up with Tygra. Rowr! :tygra:
Though I always preffered Lion-O with Cheetara, mostly because it would bring more maturity to Lion-O in the development department, Tygra with Cheetara just felt more natural and right. And going with how Tygra is to be portrayed here, gosh, the poor guy would have it really bad if he lost the girl. He deserves some love darnit!
Lion-O on the other hand, this time around, is said to be more over confident. So again the maturity thing applies here.
Grr..I think I’m inclining more to Tygra’s favor because he seems to have it rough. Lion-O get’s the glory, let Tygra get the love?

Came across this interview transcript with Larry Kenney on web site posted Apr. 1. Larry was asked about the new Lion- O and his answer surprised me ferom what I’d seen of Lion-O in the trailers…
Cosmic Book News: How would you describe Lion-O this time around?
Larry Kenney: Lion-O is a bit of a smartass and it works well for this interpretation of Thundercats. They have given it a real contemporary sound. I like it a lot.
Gives a whole new dimension to the character. Sounds to me like both Lion-O and Tygra may be coc-ky, full of themselves princes who are about to embark on a journey which will grow them up. Will be interesting to see.
It’s also possible that both Tygra and Lion-O are interested in her and she has no interest in either of them. Wouldn’t stop them from acting like silly young males. Just as long as it’s not a Tygra/Lion-O pairing. That’s a bit more than I could handle being done to an old favorite.
Pretty much a fan that just likes a character(s) because they’re “hot” or “mysterious”. And proclaims said character(s) is the best thing in the universe and won’t listen to reason. Also may tend to distort said character(s) beyond recognition in their fan works.
This also applies to shipping. Likes a shipping because it’s “hot” or because they think yaoi is all there is. Even pairing such characters like rival characters. i.e. Ash and Gary from Pokemon, Cloud and Sephiroth from FFVII, Goku and Vegeta from Dragonball, Edward and Envy from FullMetal Alchemist..and so forth. >_>
I’m open to all types of pairings. But sometimes this people take it to stupid lengths.
I’m actually curious as to the how fandom clash Thundecats will receive once the newer generation catches on does. Most of my fandoms are riddled with this junk, yet Thundercats is still pretty clean. xD
Ah. I tend not to pay attention to much fan stuff in that regards. I find myself more interested in the show and what’s actually going on, making hypothesis about what’s to come and then discussing what happened.
Personally I still go by saying I’d rather nobody be paired up on the team and leave the team in tact as a team without the drama of relationships developing between any members which only adds complication and I’m really not into romantic relationship drama. Guess that’s why I don’t watch soaps.
Hm, I don´t like cheetara ( new and old, but the new cheetara looks like better than the old cheetara)…I don´t like (most) fermal chacaters in cartoons and animes ( I know I´m self a woman). But I think love stories with man x woman are very boring for me^^'.
I think it is better than no love stories in thundercats.
I hope it won´t give a love storie in the new thundercats series.
So at this point in the series, we see budding interest between Cheetara and Lion-O. I think Cheetara was the one we first saw show interest in Lion-O and now Lion-O seems to be growing more attracted to Cheetara. But I’m not seeing any interest between Tygra and Cheetara. I don’t see her showing interest in him nor do I see him showing interest in her. I wonder when that’ll start and why. Because right now, I get the strong impression that Cheetara is very annoyed with Tygra. In the last episode she scolded him that he should be more supportive of Lion-O. And I don’t think her scolding him did anything to make Tygra interested in her, rather I think he feels a slight annoyance with her.
