They will be working more like a team, like a Tcats team, as in the good old days! I can’t wait for the Cat symbol being activated on their belts and Lion-o signal them!! Lion-o grown up most likely will have a new outfit, i remember an old interview the producers had commented on lion-O’s maturity and physically changing, taking place along the way.
I remember that interview too, and I think they said he’ll get a bit taller, and a bit more bulkier too. I think you’re right on the costume change too, even if it is just for the sake of a new action figure.

He already seems to have changed a little. His voice is a lot deeper and he seems a lot taller and bulkier, especially compared to Pumyra.
I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but do you think another voice actor will do him?
Also, another point is raised, how are they going to explain the time it passed that he grew up? Is it going to be shown? and does this mean changes will also apply to the rest of the team?
I don’t know. I don’t think we’ll see much change between anyone besides the twins and Lion-O because Tygra, Panthro, and Cheetara seem to be grown up (physically). Considering Lion-O’s father was really, really buff I can see Lion-O getting much more filled out over time, and it’s already somewhat beginning to show. The only exception is Pumyra (if she stays with the group) because she seemed about the same age or maybe a little younger than Lion-O, so we might see her grow a little if she decides to stay with the cats.
No it will be the same voice actor, he’ll just be dropping his voice an octave or two.
What do you mean how are they going to explain it? Time passes, they age. And there could be weeks, even months between some episodes. It will happen gradually as it has been doing so far, I mean look how subtle they are being. You can just start to notice slight differences now, but you have to look. The next season won’t happen until the end of summer at least, and then they’ll have that whole arc to continue the slow aging process. 
And yeah, you can slightly notice the kittens looking a bit older too I think, or is it just me?

I am LOVING how intelligently they are writing this new series, I mean all the subtle things like the aging process, character arcs, etc. It is just so intelligently written! I am loving it!
It’s so awesome how they’ve pulled it off so well.
I don’t think Lion-O will get bulky like Claudus. Cats like Claudus, Panthro, and Grune seem to be the exception not the rule. Even Javan wasn’t quite as large as they are. I think he’ll get older. Maybe his hair will grow a little longer and he might get as tall as Tygra or his jaw will be a little more squared, but that’s about it.
And when he’s in his late 20s/early 30s (if they have a time skip or if the show continues that long) he might look something like Lynxo’s build here (but younger of course).

No I still think he’ll bulk out a bit more, maybe not as MUCH as Claudus, Panthro or Grune, but I think he will certainly head in that direction. Like you said it’s all about time scale, I think if we get a skip ahead to when he is in his 30s (purely hypothetical I’m not saying the story will) I think he’ll resemble a slightly slimmed/toned Claudus without the beard, but the muscle will be there.
I think we’ll probably only get to see Lion-O enter his early twenties, unless there’s some weird time skip or something.
I do too, I was just speculating on what he might look like later in life, when he’s closer to Claudus’ age, and I think when we see him age into his early twenties, we’ll see him start to get some muscle and bulk up a bit.
All I know is it’ll be cool to see him older.
True. It will be even cooler to see three or four seasons over a three or four year run (or maybe longer??) And then compare the boy who escaped Thundera with the man who rebuilt it! :liono
I’m thinking it’s already been almost a whole year, if not more, since Thundera fell.
Sounds about right, given that there could be weeks or even months between some episodes, and the truncated episodes themselves could take place over a few days or more.
I’m bringing this up because it seems like an appropriate moment to do so, but the gap between the second half of the trials and Native Son seems like it was meant to be a season break. I know we’re still technically on the first season, but that seemed like an extremely appropriate time to end season 1 (although I’m glad they didn’t).
Hmm, I’m not sure on that one, unless you’re thinking of maybe a season 1 part 1 and a season 1 part 2? The trials were just over half way in the season, and its relatively normal to have a big two parter mid way through a season then again at the end, right?
Like you said though, there was a gap, so in continuity terms, they could have been travelling for weeks or even a couple of months together before we see them again at the start of native son. I think viewing it like that adds to the epic scale of the story.
