  1. If you’re not a fan of the new Lion-O, don’t post in this thread. It’s a fan thread in the 2011 series forum for the new Lion-O, so let’s allow only those who are a fan of this new Lion-O post here. If you’re a fan of the old Lion-O but not a fan of the new one, just stay out of the thread and let those who like the new Lion-O talk about that character.

  2. Liking the new Lion-O doesn’t mean you have to like everything about that character, it’s okay to post some negative comments as well, but in this thread it should be by people who overall like the new Lion-O.

  3. Let’s keep the fan threads debate free. If one person says something they don’t like about the new Lion-O that another person would like to debate or vice versa, then you need to debate it in another thread about that particular topic.

I figured this guy needed his own thread, I’m a Tygra fan too, but the lord of the thundercats needs some love too ya’all. And I have a feeling he is gonna do a lot of growing up over the next thirteen new episodes! :thumbsup:

I think Lion-O is very open-minded. He believed in technology even when ridiculed- and did not stop looking for it - for years. That is some fierce determination right there. He seems to see individuals, or people, instead of just outer appearances, and is willing to embrace diversity (a quality that definitely qualifies him as ruler, rather than Tygra). He continues to fight his brother, even with the knowledge that he will likely lose. He’s bounced back from the loss of his father and kingdom (somewhat, he’s got a clear goal he’s working towards, but I’m looking for more mention of his family life)- I want to see how he will bounce back from this newest development. I think he’s set the standard for resilience and perseverance in the face of all odds from the get-go.

That is a emotional thing. I hope it takes him some time to deal with it, it wouldn’t be normal if he got over it really fast.

Actually I’m just as much of a Lion-o fan as I am a Tygra one. I wanted Tygra to get the girl, but I like them both. They each have their own merits as leaders and heroes.

I think lion-o will be fine it’ll just take time. since the next two episodes deal with the “trials of lion-o” that will probably help him mature and move on . of course introduing pumyra later will probably help too.

Why do you want tygra to get the girl? Don’t tell me you want everyone to have a equal share.

To me King means nothing, it is just a title. Have someone is more imporatant than anything.

I like bengali with pumyra.

Plus, that would feel convenient. They would do it due to POing Lion-o fans off.

As a kid, I have always wanted Lion-o to be cheetara. I am talking about the 80s.

I want to see lion-o on his own, he needs to stand on his own and the group will only hold him back.

He needs to be away from cheetara and tygra, that will be toxic for him.

Are you suggesting you’d like to see Lion-o leave the group because they just get in his way? One of the biggest parts of the OS was the lesson that through teamwork and coming together, the Thundercats were victorious. Whereas when they stood alone, not so much. And I’d kind of miss all the other characters if Lion-o solo’d things.

I think the title of the show might have to change to ‘Lord of the Thundercats’, but it would be nice to see them split up for a short time. It would force them to acknowledge each others value and build a deeper appreciation for each other.

To clear his head. He would have to be reminded every time he sees Tygra and cheetara together of that kiss.

For him to grow IMO, he has to do it on his own.

I think everyone needs alone time to revaluate their life.

No, they can keep developing the rest of the cats.

Lion-O needs to be above running off to pout in my opinion. As the Lord of the Thundercats it would be really irresponsible of him to leave the others over something petty like that. Without the Sword of Omens the Thundercats really have little to no chance to fend off Mumm-Ra if he were to attack. It would be best for the character to accept that Cheetara made her choice and continue to lead the team. Leaving the group would be a step backwards in his character progression.

Lol with the show being a 1/2 he wouldnt be shown gone long anyways.

Don’t think of it as abondonment. Real time for Panthro to recover would be awhile anyways. Course the drifter made a sword in a day sigh.

we know he needs to mature. Who is going to teach him? Sorry but his cat crew isn’t the best thing for him. He’s learned from his enviroment more. Emeric, Viragor and The Drifter taught him valuable things. The book even gave him greater insight on the sword. Somehow I feel I’m going to get the Lion King thing and His father will speak to him again.

Everyone is hell bent on Berbils fixing Panthro they could stay there while he recover’s or do their own thing. Tygra and Cheetare can handle themselve’s anyways.

It doesn’t really matter how long he leaves for. Mumm-Ra could attack the second he leaves, which was a problem for me with the episode “The Duelist and the Drifter”. With Mumm-Ra after them it doesn’t make sense to separate.

This is a lesson he could teach himself. I’d like to think the character can mature without having someone hold his hand.

In “Journey to the Tower of Omens” Mumm-Ra showed he can easily dispose of any of them. For them to stand a chance they need to stick together.

I disagree. How is that a step backwards? The best time to think is by yourself. How can lion-o grow if he has to deal with his feelings when tygra is around? It is not realistic for him to swallow his pride and he like, the world is great.

Lion-o can handle Mumm-Ra now.

It is not about pouting, it is trying to find yourself on your own.

This is about the death of this father, people, his responsibility as king, Tygra, and now cheetara. It is unrealistic for human nature to come back like, I love you guys.

I think it would be better if he was on this own for 2 episodes and deal with his feelings.

I think him being gone will help lion-o and tygra realize they need each other.

if lion-o did leave the group for a while, I wonder if mumm-ra would focus his attention on going after him (since he’s the one with the sword) and leave the others alone . of course mumm-ra could try to hold them hostage in exchange for the eye, forcing lion-o to put his new found skills to the test

I’m not worried about Lion-O. I’m worried about everyone else if Lion-O leaves them to be alone. With Panthro out of commission and the Wilykittens being pretty useless in a fight only Tygra and Cheetara could defend them. It’d be irresponsible of the Lord of Thundercats to leave the group vulnerable now.

It is possible for him to be by himself and reflect on everything that has happened without abandoning the group. He has to juggle his inner conflict and his position, that’s what is going to make him an interesting character.
