I’m starting to get tired of hearing it and hope one of the other Thundercats hisses the next time he/ she’s ticked off at something.
-To your first, it’s probable. Though the Lizard could have been spitting words at that point, since we’ve only seen the Lizards fighting and attacking the cats, and no other animal people species. (O_O maybe the Jackals will be nice in this series!) Also, the cats were very prosperous, and like any country might have fought other species over goods and stuff, much like our own. Then again, maybe the other species see the cats like Americans with only precieved falsehoods, after all the cats act very xenophobic and isolated.
-The reason they keep making fights between lions and tigers is probably because of the age old competition of which cat is king. Tigers, in Eastern cultures, have typically been seen as the king of the cats (if not beasts at times); Lions on the other hand have been given this spot. So there comes a clash, who is the real king of cats? O_O That and it gives us a Tygra-a-like to look at in the heavily Lion-O episode.
-I thought it was cool, but eh, too each his own.
-XD I went with Powerrangers, but Saint Seyia is a good parallel too.
-So glad I’m not the only one who noticed the difference with the white tigers! 
Though I can’t say I didn’t like seeing the Pumas making it instead (crazed Pumyra fan strikes again!)
-I perfer more eps being around the whole group, but for this one I was okay with it’s one-player form. Let’s just hope the next eps won’t be single-players to even it out.

I found this episode, and the show overall, quite enjoyable. And i am really happy to see the cartoon showing that not everyone you meet from a species in automatically evil. Plus, it was amusing to see how idiotic Lion-o was coming off. half the time I swore I heard his thoughts:
“Woah! I’m the hot lady’s boyfriend, or something! Sweeeet.”
I only saw one mood encompassed by the electricity covering the planet. Where were these other moons seen at?
I wish I felt that way, the way I felt with The Last Airbender where I loved just about every episode.
Yeah, I had figured that they would have found the Book of Omens in ElDara. It probably will contain knowledge and the poor kids will be so disappointed, at least at first. They’ll probably learn something too.
I don’t know, but I think that episode was the longest so far. Usually there are 2 commercial breaks and there was only 1.
I still think Lion-O should say “cat litter” instead of “whiskers.” At least it would have more potency to it. 
Oh my god, amazing ep. Just watched it again on CN-West. My thoughts are jumbled but here we go:

[li]Writers, please, can we go one episode without Lion-O saying “Whiskers”? Or at least give him a substitute word like “litter box” or something. I actually sat there and said “Whiskers” just as he was going to say it. Overall: AWESOME. I want a time machine SO BAD so I can go to next Friday and watch the next episode…or go to when the Season 1 DVD set comes out and just buy it. Where’s The Doctor when you need him?
Hmm episode’s a bit too power ranger-ish for my taste with all the super robo and stone power ups they’re showing us. Mumm-ra’s power armor looked badass though, while Leo’s gold outfit looked a bit stupid and funny. But still a dang good ep and give plenty of explanations so far.
So comparing to recent Third Earth, after being considered as a savior a millennia back and maybe, the cats were being full of themselves, getting top of the food chain and have all the good stuffs all the time, leaving the rest of the species maybe fighting against each other for crappy resources. This is why the cats are hated and viewed as racist oppressors.
This episode will be a turn point for the gang to actually garner support from the rest of species, but when doing this there are barrier and stigma of the ‘evil oppressors’ attached to the cats.
Interesting how Lion-O will actually solve this long time hate, but I’ll guess he’ll manage since he seems to advocate tolerance and understanding between the species, referring to episode 1-2 with the lizard slaves.
I too Agree That Lion-O Should have been a Third Person Viewer. The only thing I cam come up with as to how he knew how to operate the Tech was some sort of Carried over memory from Leo. Other wise when he first looked at the Operation Terminal the only thing I could see flashing through his head would be " Ok to start press any key… Which one is the “Any” Key…
Also I am let down by the animators doing a close up of him typing on the keyboard to release the other animals and they only animate him hitting the same three Keys over and Over and OVER…
As to your theory of Other Tech Based Cats making the ThunderTank. Sorry but it was a standard part of Mumm-Ra’s Fleet. Their was a scene in this episode during the invasion where Dozens of them come crashing through a wall and then head for the target. So I think the theory stands that after Panthro fell in the Pyramid he found his way to a motor Pool and hot-wired himself some wheels.
I think there is still the Possible theory of them all being Genetically Created myself With the Cats as the Elite Creation. Although Jaga did say in the beginning something about Thunderas Past. Meaning possibly that they could have all been from Thundera or Just the Cats were from Thundera… Just no telling yet. It still remains a Very Open Question!
You and me both Brother! I LOVED the Silver Hawks. I also Remember fondly watching the Tiger Sharks. Sadly I did not like the Thundercats initially just because everyone else liked them (I know WACKO). But I eventually came around. I sooooo Hope that if this show does well they might Spin off and redo SilverHawks. In the Very least let them make an Appearance in this new show.
The Electricity around the Planet was an Odd and very strong Electro Magnetic Field. Panthara Mentioned it at one point just before they Crash.
As I pointed out earlier while talking about the origins of the different Species Jaga did Mention something about Thundera at the beginning of the Episode. So It is very likely they originated on that planet but then left with Mumm-Ra to find these Stones of Power. Which still brings us to the Question of Who Was it they took the Stones From? Hindsight says Mumm-Ra Lied when he originally said the stone was his. Eeeennnnkkkk! So Sorry no points this round. The Stone was not yours you stole it from some other Race. Now on to the Bonus Question. When will Tygras Gun run out of ammo… Careful this is a trick question. It is a Laser gun so the proper question is will it run out of power or not? I think we wont have to worry about it as it probably runs off of Thundrillium and if the ThunderTank can run off a hand full then his Gun should only need like a grain of sands worth. IMO…
Ok This is what confuses the snot out of me. Yes the ship was definitely heading for the Planet. But in Earlier Shots in Earlier Episodes they made it look as if Third Earth was the Moon in orbit of a larger Gas Giant planet like Jupiter.
All I can Say to this is: CONTINUITY PEOPLE!!! I am going to ask about this on the Crew Blog to see if we can get a straight answer. Their only save IMO would be that it only looked as though they were going to crash on the planet but in fact they crashed on the “Forest Moon” (sorry couldn’t help myself).
Yup this is pretty much how I saw it happening from given information. I do like the Idea that was thrown around that Leo (or someone) Split the Stones up between the other races. This will be a good sign that he has won their Loyalty if they give back the Stone willingly. I just hope they don’t make the mistake of thinking it would be easier to just steal the stones from their Owners. Unfortunately I have a very Bad feeling we are going to be hearing the line “We Unite or Fall” Allot… I sooooo Hope I am Wrong!
And that is all I have to say in response to what I have read. Now if that weren’t bad enough I would like to go on to Critique the real ins and outs of what I felt this episode meant to me and to the rest of the die hard Fans out their in this strange and unique universe we all live in.

With the way the writers are going with the series I think we are certainly going to see atleast 3 seasons .
LOved the way to showed the origin of the Sword of Omens. The blacksmiths who forged it didn’t really look like average Thundercats with the black sclera… In fact last I checked Chilla had that look.
Love the concept of the power stones & after looking at the planet view , Tat was definitely Monstarr’s home turf. Mum-ra’s claw sheild looked fantastic. I guess that’s what gave the blacksmiths the inspiration.
The armors…what can I say…Mum-Ra’s looked great..Lion-O …not so much. I wish the lion helmet were a bit more convincing. But I’m a fan aof Digimon to some extent so I can live with it. Plus I’m guessing that sort of thing will drive the kids crazy.
At first when I saw Mum-Ra’s pyramid ion the new series i wasn’t sold with the look, but man! After seeing the spaceship form I so hope we get a playset!
Looks like the Tuskas will be elephants as opposed to Walrus’ in the new series?
Loved the ‘Panthera’ & Leo moments. I think they added a lot to the episode.
I still hope they focus a bit more on the Thundercat’s past before they wound up with Mum-Ra.
The series in my opinion just keeps raising the bar. The animation & action is getting better & better. I guess next week Lion-o’s quest of reuniting the animals starts with the Berbils.,…I can’t wait ti see the BERBILS next week!
This was the most amazing episode! Loved the armors and the battle. Mumm-Ra looked wicked in that suit of his, just wow. Nice to see the birth of the sword, though it went by a little too quick. It’s the weapon of the Thundercats, should have given it more gradual reveal. Glimpsing the back story only begs for more answers. Like what the heck Mon-Star has to do with all this? I watched Tiger-Sharks little bit as a kid but not as much as Tcats and Silverhawks, but even so it was nice seeing them again.
Agree with Bloom on this, Lion-O should have been an observer. And one little nit pick, Lion-O always tries to say some funny remarks no matter the situation. That was bit ridiculous. He is not Spider-Man.
Ok I can’t wait for the next episode. All this tech is beginning to grow on me.
A quick observation on the issue of if Lion-O being an observer vs. active participant in the Book of Omens history play-back…I personally got the distinct impression that it was something in between the two. Lion-O obviously embodied/possessed the Leo, did what he did, etc…but I don’t think Lion-O was always entirely in total control ALL the time with what was going on and what Leo was doing. I felt like Lion-O was at times partially along for the ride so to speak (“wow, look what I am doing and what is happening”) as afterall, this was a re-play of history. But, due to the magical nature of the Book of Omens somehow, Lion-O still had to do the things Leo had done where it mattered…
So did anyone notice that the general talking to Mum-ra during the halfway point of the episode looks just like the villian from the old Silverhawks cartoon?

Yup it’s been the talk of the week ever since the teaser was revealed last Tuesday. I don’t think he’s a general. From what I can tell the can from which the eye of Thundera was procured was his I think. But I’m glad the writers are really deciding to expand the mythos to other series as well. Can’t forget Monstarrs Transformation. As far as I know he used the Moon Star of Limbo to get his armor every time. Maybe it has the same effect as the other stones had on Mumra’s armor. so maybe there is a connection somewhere down the line.
And just above the Mon*Star pic is a Tigershark. It has been one of the most talked about reveals since the teaser was shown earlier in the week.
I hope there will be more to it in the later episodes

- 30 year old watching a cartoon every friday night
- catching references to old cartoons in a few frames of the episode
- searching out a thundercats message board to post about these things on.
- not realizing that said message board would obviously already know about this stuff well in advance.
- same 30 year old holding his plastic sword of omens and crying in the corner.
