Kevin Michael Richardson is going to voice Panthro and Will Friedle will be voicing Lion-O.

Listening to that interview alone, I can tell from his voice he’s a perfect fit for Panthro 
Just hope the guy playing Lion-O (who I’ve never heard of…) is a good vocal fit for Lion-O too.
I haven’t heard of Will Friedle either, but looking at his resume i can tell he must have a certain level of experinece.

Also his voice might be just for the Young Lion-o. Once he grows up thoughout the Series probably someone else will voice him. This is only left to be seen.
Kevin Michael Richardson is definetely ideal for Panthro, he has this barytone sound!
I LOVE Will Friedle! He was Eric from one of my all-time favorite shows, Boy Meets World! But he also does a ton of voices such as Batman from Batman Beyond!

Love their choice for Panthro. Not so sure about Friedle as Lion-O. He has a very “young” voice.
If you don’t know Will Friedle is a few of his voices are Terry (Batman) on Batman Beyond, Blue Beetle on Batman: the Brave and the Bold, and Ron Stoppable on Kim Possible. He was also the big brother Eric on Boy Meets World.
I just saw the interview with Kevin Michael Richardson and looking forward to this new show a LOT!
Disappointed my guess didn’t get the shot at Panthro, but this guy’s pretty decent. At least they got it right with another deeper voiced African American voicing him.
As for this Will Friedle fellow, I just listened to him on Batman Beyond and, while he’s not bad (it could be a lot worse), he’s no Larry Kenny either.
Awesome news! Friedle was great as Terry McGinnis in Batman Beyond. BTW, Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker is coming out on Blu-Ray next month. So it’s a great way to be introduced to the show if you’ve never seen it (and yes, in case you’re wondering, both the uncut and edited versions will be available on it).
Kevin Michael Richardson is a good pick. And he was on the top of my list of people whom I expected to be cast as Panthro. I’m kind of surprised though that he was free to do it, since he’s already working on three other shows that are still in production. Right now he’s on:
The Cleveland Show (Cleveland Jr., various characters)
G.I. Joe: Renegades (Roadblock)
Transformers: Prime (Bulkhead)
So since he’s got a full plate, I was just slightly disappointed that they didn’t give someone else a shot.
I’m excited with both of these choices!

hmm…not quite as husky as I would’ve wanted, but they couldve done much worse. Works as a younger version of her. She has a slight growl to her voice that I rather like.

Her voice sounds like an happy hour special lol. IMO they are making Cheetara more irresistible this time around for the series sorta like Catwoman for the Batman franchise.

No disrespect to Lynne Lipton or Peter Newman, but I thought Cheetara and Tygra would be the easiest re-casts for this new show. Neither stood out to me as being top level iconic voices in the original RB Thundercats and really, other than some little girl I think even someone like Megan Fox probably could have done at least a serviceable job as Cheetara. Maybe that’s because I’m a guy though.
Newman’s voice fit in that same category as fitting the character, but not really standing out as iconic. So again, if I were directory I really wouldn’t put too much emphasis on his replacement, although the guy they got seems like top voice guy.
Also, unless he’s the Michael Jordan of voices, I feel sorry for Mumm-Ra’s actor as he’ll be the most heavily scrutinized and heavily lashed out against if he doesn’t deliver.
I actually agree with everything Grune just said. Although I did like Lynne Lypton as Wilykit, her other voices never really stood out to me as much.
This just keeps getting better and better!
Chriqui is someone whom I’ve heard about, but haven’t seen a lot of her work.
Of course, as the article also mentions, she’s also going to be in the upcoming TRON: Uprising series. So since I’m also a major TRON fan, that’s also very cool!
(Speaking of which, is it me, or do those two cycle pods on the sides of the new Thundertank look like lightcycles?)
Still, I’m glad they didn’t go with the obvious, which would have been Tara Strong. And strictly speaking as a red-blooded male, it certainly doesn’t hurt that Chriqui is a hottie in real life!:mischievous:

Well I’m not gonna pretend to be any sort of expert, or even have a half decent knowledge of voice acting - I dont! But 2 things I thought I may as well point out in line with the discussion

[li]These actors/actresses will be ‘putting’ on voices we’ve probably never heard before so it’s gonna be hard to judge how well they fit the role[/li][li]I hope they don’t have these few people we’ve heard about doing to many of the other voices like we saw in the original - it’s just pants to have Mumm-Ra’s nemesis cauldron creature sounding like Panthro with a chest infection as just 1 example :P[/li][/ol]
P.s not to take anything away from the original actors, I loved all the voices and some actors did really well with the multiple roles e.g Peter Newan as Tygra AND Monkian…what a legend!
Good choices I must say :D. Surprised by some people not knowing who Will is. Loved him as Eric on Boy Meets World. Even more so as Batman. I think he’s perfect for doing young Lion-O, although he can make his voice heavier to sound adult when he grows old in anime: just like he did for Batman, when he was wearing the costume: he slightly changed it.
This is good, this are barely known voices. Thank god we ain’t getting the overdone Tara Strong or Tom Kenny (though I love them).
Will Freddie..lol, he voiced Ron Stoppable from Kim Possible. XD I had no idea about him voicing Terry from Batman Beyond, so now I look forward to hearing his take on young Lion-O.
Richardson, I don’t recall hearing any of his work, but that’s probly my bad memory.
And Chriqui, unfortunately I know nothing about her. Wish I could look up more on this guys, but I’m on a borrowed connection right now. D:
