My apologies for my absense over the past year or so. Hope you’ve all had a wonder Easter.
It’s probably going to get slightly worse, too, as I’m currently running my podcast, working a college course and doing all sorts. So I might dip in and out - but, whilst I’m still active now (as summer’s going to be kinda tough), I’d like to try and contribute something.
One of my idea’s is a new podcast episode - update people on some of the things that have happened over the past couple of months/weeks but also have some discussion. Should we widen the scope, try and touch on other cartoons being put onto DVD? Whatever, really. It doesn’t have to be too long, either. Around 45 minutes to an hour.
Contributing wise - keeping it to 2/3 people. I can record/edit it and have it out very quickly, mix it down so that it sounds efficient (I do this on a very regular basis so no worry on this end). I’d like to have Chris (He-Fan) involved as he’s UK-based (making it easier to arrange time stuff) and I have a friend of mine that could be very knowledgeable - he hosts Dropkick Radio if you’re interested. A very good fella, too. We’d have to be all agreed to do something like that as the last time we did something, it went tits-up and never got released. We could do a team one down the line but keep this one so that we have someone who isn’t necessarily from the team so is rather unknown to people - therefore making it more interesting. It’s more of an ‘audio update’ than anything.
Also, I’d like to put the audio interviews onto YouTube. I’ve kinda struggled with this one as I wanted to edit them but I’ve realised that, time wise, this isn’t going to be possible. Since the editing on them isn’t too bad and it’s the final product, we can release them for Youtubers to like. All I need for this are graphics - one for each guest (image, name-tag “An interview with soandso”) and the name of the website. Give me a week or so and I can have the majority of them edited and ready to be uploaded to YouTube. Just to make things easier - if someone can send me the Youtube username/password, I’ll upload them myself.
That’s about it, tbh. I’m away until April 12th but should be alright to do a couple of things. Discuss.
Just a quickish response from me as I’m totally knackered after a heavy evening running a band at the club - 115 people, 5 away from our fire regs capacity - shattered!
Re: ThunderCast, would definitely be happy to see it make a reappearance after so long, and yep, my availability permitting I’d definitely be up for taking part!
Re: guest host, I don’t have a problem in principle but would say that I’d like to see ThunderCast kept to at most a “PG certificate” - i.e., keep it reasonably clean!
Re: Mark and the statues segment - if it can be made to work, bring it on!
Re: interviews on YouTube - yes, definitely, 150,000% yes, I’d love to see this happen! One problem you would have is that you’d need to split the videos up into segments because YouTube has a maximum length of videos for anyone except Google ( ) that’s round about the 10 minute mark. If you can get over that (even by doing a “Part 1”, “Part 2”, etc.) then, bring it on (or have I already used that phrase?!)!
Nick, if you nag me about the graphic elements you need, I should be able to whip those up for you reasonably quickly - don’t be afraid to jog my memory, I’m afraid with my advancing years (28 in a fortnight!), the old memory’s not what it was!!
Nice to see some activity on these two fronts - my hat, as always, goes off to you Mr. Mills - let’s see if we can make this happen!

Excellent stuff. I’ll Facebook you in a few days about it - this would probably take place over Skype. Keep it relatively short - 30 to 45 minutes I’m thinking. Anything longer and it’d probably be overkill.

To be fair, my friend Jeremy was one of the folk I interviewed for the documentary I made a while back and he’s very articulate and knowledgeable on both his radio show and interviews. My podcast is completely different - but it’s two very seperate things. So I can definately adhere to this.
Re: Mark and the statues segment - if it can be made to work, bring it on!
Yah - we can pre-record that, stick it on the show. Keep that to maybe Chris, myself and Mark with mainly Mark and Chris discussing the statues. I can offer a general perspective on it but nothing expert.

Check my YouTube page ‘rmconnection’ - I do that regularly. Lots of hits, interesting comments and such. I just need the graphics.
We should probably choose what interviews go up and what don’t - I personally think we should vary it slightly. I’m a huge fan of the Earle Hyman, Peter Lawrence and Peter Newman interviews. Maybe include Kimberly Morris or Gerriane Raphael.. whatever you guys would like.
Once you guys work out the interviews you can upload them to the TCL account using the following login info:
login: ThunderCatsLairORG
pass: beyondsight
I’m down for the statues discussion, let me know when and where. Let me also see if we can get Rob Potts from Hard Hero or Jerry from Pro Culture Shock to do the same call with us.
I was also thinking about having a segment that involves picking out some forum topic threads. That way, we are incorporating the message board topics/board members, and also entices listeners to drop by the forums and add their two cents to the topic.
It gives us different things to talk about as well!
I was thinking that when we do a new episode, we could title it as the “second season” for ThunderCast…because it’s been awhile since we did the last one. It’ll give us sort of a fresh slate to start with.
Do you guys want to record an episode anytime soon? I’m really itching to do one, especially with all the news that’s coming out recently.
I know it’s last minute, but may be we can do one on Sunday? Even if it’s just a two person episode, I think we’re due!
I can’t do this Sunday (23rd) unfortunately, but at present am completely free on Sunday 30th May if that was any use! (Although if you guys want to go for this Sunday I don’t mind if you want to do it without me.)
It would be great to see a new episode of ThunderCast hit the airwaves!
Sounds like a plan - in light of this, I’ve just written “? ThunderCast” in my diary for Sunday 30th, in the hopes that it might be a goer for some of the rest of the team - would definitely be up for doing another one!
So.. we still on for Sunday 30th? My brother’s actually moving in on Sunday and I’m to eat at my father’s afterwards so the time may have to change.. I don’t know when we were planning to do it but around 10PM UK time or so might work. I’m really sorry, but this has come very last minute.
Saying that.. I have one questions. Whilst it’s obvious that we should touch on the Stephen Perry situation, to what degree? I think it’s something that should be talked about because it’s a huge topic right now and something very personal to all of us. I’m just wondering everyone’s thoughts on that.
I was also wondering if we were still on for tomorrow (Sunday 30th May)? I am still free and happy to take part if you guys would like - 10:00pm UK time would be ideal for me, although could manage an hour either way (i.e., either 9:00pm or 11:00pm) if that was any help.
I was wondering the same thing - personally I’d just talk about it like we’d talk about any other news item and see what happens (we can always edit out anything that sounds wrong or inappropriate afterwards). What do the rest of you guys think?
Let’s make it 11PM. That way, gives everyone plenty of time to sort things out.
I have to say this - I’ll probably be quite busy tomorrow helping my brother move in and then going out afterwards. It’s very last minute, this, so many apologies. It should all work out. 11PM UK time, let’s meet on Skype. I’ll record and edit anything we do.
That all sounds and works fine for me, I can be there - I’d like to suggest that you be the host as well, if that’s OK by you.
MannyF, are you OK for 11:00pm UK time for a podcast recording? IMO it would work best if there was a minimum of three of us on the “panel” - hope you’re still OK to take part, my friend!
Yep, I shall be there! I’ve PM’ed MannyF to ask if that time is OK for him - be great if he can as he’s the one out of the three of us who’s most up-to-speed on what’s happening with the ThunderCats statues, etc.
