"Journey To The Tower Of Omens" - Official Talkback Thread! (CONTAINS SPOILERS!)

I think Tygra is going to have a shot, maybe Lion-o will want Cheetra to be his Queen but she is can’t be Queen for some reason and give an opening for Tygra, even though Cheetra might still like Lion-O. Plus Pumyra still might show up. Pumas are call Mountain Lions, they might have her show up and complicate things.

I don’t think Tygra’s going to be the bad guy but it’s certainly isn’t going to help with his inferiority complex towards Lion-O that he seems to have.

He’s spent a lot of his life trying to prove he’s “better” than Lion-O(overcompensation because he’s adopted?) and to have Lion-O get the crown and then get the girl over him would be crushing. It would be just more proof that Lion-O has surpassed him.

I’m more afraid that Cheetara will be '(Insert name here) love interest and that’s all the character development she’ll get.

She was the doctor/healer of the group in the OS.

What are the odds are she shows up finds one of our heroes and nurses someone back to health?

don’t have a clue about the odds, but it chould happen.

They stuck to the orginal series in that regard.

AGREED!!! This is why I perfer the romantic relationships be between two supporting characters. Less chance of someone getting over shadowed. If it were up to me Lion-O would fall in love with someone who is set up to be,well just his love interest. Like a royal who managed to make it out of Thunderea . Cheetara is THE thundercats female. She should be no more about romance than any other TCat.

That is a concern but I think it really depends on how long they drag the triangle out. The tension between Tygra/Lion-O can’t get resolved while that’s going on and while I like the conflict between them right now, I don’t want it to last 20+ episodes. Once the triangle is resolved I bet the romance blends into the background and all three move on as individual characters.

It’s very good, too, and I agree with all of it.

It sounds plausible. I’m still trying to figure exactly what Mumm-Ra is in this series. I’d guess he is from a race of Bat-Mutants judging by his appearance and his aversion to bright lights.

I was always for quality.

It was well paced, and featured everyone’s strength, plus gave a hint of back story.

Hope it wasn’t good booze wasted

My theory

  1. TCATS enslaved by Mumm-RA
  2. War stone is retrieved & used for evil purposes by said mummy
  3. TCATS defeat Mumm-Ra
  4. Jaga casts spell on war stone & implants it into Sword of Omens
  5. Mumm-Ra is locked up into his tomb

Could also be that 4 comes before 3.

Also anybody notice that the room flooding reminded of that episode in the original series where Panthro lost his temper & chased after Mumm-Ra only to be flooded inside the pyramid & just narrowly escaping.

Based on the foundation being set down from the past episodes we have established some possibilities for Tygra:

Displaced older son
Favored Grune
Jealousy

Besides the bad tiger had an eyepatch, perhaps a foreshadowing of Tygra being short-sighted, and soon to be tested? That’s how I would play it.

Evolution of form is a constant in anime to be sure.

In the most idea scenario, Tygra will metamorphose the most, be tested the most, to be the next vizier. That is why he should get the cleric

I want to know approximately how old the flashbacks of the Thundarians working for Mumm-Ra were. I mean what is the time frame of that?

Funny, I thought it mirrored Pathro. Who very well might be blind in one eye and to is a General of the army.

I’m still betting somewhere Pathro is either getting or has a mechanical eye. Actually I’m betting he already has one since it doesn’t seem he has a blind side at all.

Fan Fiction is rife with Tiger vs Lion. It is a very common theme, and probably will be played out here too.

Chris here…

Well, in the pilot, Claudus stated that the ThunderCats’ “ancestors” had defeated Mumm-Ra, so that implies to me that the flashback was going back at least a few generations (i.e., further back than the main ThunderCats’ grandparents).

Take care…

Also in interviews they’ve said Mumm-Ra has known about the Sword of Omens for 5000 years. And that first flashback was probably before the Sword was made considering they had just gotten the stone.

Which never made any sense to me.

Lion and Tigers, all though simular in size, in nature never compete for the same resources except in very some rare forest areas. Lions are overall grassland warm climate cats. Tigers either have to be near a water source dense swamps or cooler climates. They suffer miserably in the heat. Neither enviorments are ones lions really compete for.

You’d think any cats that would be fighting it out with the Lions would be Leopards. They live in the same climates and compete for the same resources. They’re natural enemies in the wild too. One reason I always figured that Pathro was a leopard in the OS. When the chain of loyalty broke he didn’t turn on his nearest Thundercat like Cheetara and Tygra did. He went directly for Lion-o.
