Thanks for the illo. It explains Panthro’s escape nicely. ![]()
They were voice activated “no switches”.
Well that’s nice, but I don’t have the attention span to read through 27 pages worth of posts. I just posted my thoughts based on what I watched the episode.
As for the drawn diagram, yeah, I had that much figured out already, but it still doesn’t explain how he could have held his breath for that long or how he could have swam up the pipe.
He’s a big guy. Maybe he’s able to hold his breath longer than a kid.
On that train of thought, I wonder if Tygra is about fully grown…comparable in size to Jaga rather than Claudus or Panthro. Captain Tygus looked pretty slim and he was old enough to grow some Cutter-esque sideburns (ElfQuest).
Just attempting to address some of your comments.
Nope. Same time as always. 8:30.
Agreed, they did recover fast. But then again if they were hurt too bad they couldn’t continue the show.
They might be vague to us, but I imagine that Either Lion-O or Cheetara knew what he was talking about.
I imagine he hugged the walls of the passage he went through to get to the top (or like someone above said there could’ve been a ladder). Like if you’re drowning in a swimming pool. If you can get to the edge, you can find your way back up easier.
Well it has had a long time to get run down a bit since no one has been there. shrugs
Miss the part where Mumm-Ra says that the Head Clerics have passed down the location for generations? If Jaga was the one that put it there it wouldn’t have needed to be passed down.
And that’s the problem with modern Internet, no one reads so we get lots of pointless repitition
Pantho was sinking, ‘passive’ liono was swimming ‘active’. Active people use O2 faster than a person at rest.
Fitter people also use it more efficiently. As for him swimming up, who said he swam anywhere. A ladder works the same regardless of submersion. All he needed was to reach a single rung and away he goes.
Active
Yeah, but there needs to be something more. In the OS episode about the keystone, when their ship crashed, they were all injured, Lion-O was injured the worst, apparantly his injuries were life-threatening. I just think Mumm-Ra’s powers need to do more.
Yes, but it is for us that the story is even being written.
The swimming pool reference doesn’t make sense because by that logic, he should have been able to climb up a wall in the big room. Perhaps he managed to scoot himself up the tunnel, but I have a problem with him holding his breath that long. First, for him to have sunk as fast as he did, he would have had to of exhaled all his breath on the way down. I dunno, just seems like a loophole to me.
Maybe that’s what Mumm-Ra thinks…
Mumm-Ra didn’t exactly disintegrate his opponents with his magic red energy blasts in the OS either. It was used more as a way to subdue them.
Pointless repitition? I was sharing my feedback based on my own thoughts of the episode. If others have already discussed these points, then fine, but why are you critisizing me for giving my own view and perspective on the episode? That’s just rude. I would never critisize someone on this board for posting their thoughts about an episode in a thread designed for feedback just because others had already discussed it. Again, that’s very rude of you to say that.
Merged Post:
Did he use red energy blasts in the origina? I’m having trouble remembering. Did he ever hit any of them directly like the new Mumm-Ra did in this episode?
In the episode Mumm-Ra shrugged off all of the TCats in quick order. At the tine he didn’t care about finishing them. He was trying to get the Book of Omens before Lion-O did. Mumm-Ra almost killed Lion-O however when they fought. He would have if Jaga hadn’t intervened.
Merged Post:
Yes from his hands.
That’s what I was thinking. Do you know if he hit any of them directly?
On occasion. He had better accuracy than a stormtrooper for instance.
But it never killed anyone in TOS outright.
Mumm-Ra used the same energy to “Kill” the clerics and Claudus. I to agree his blast strength is inconsistent. Besides if I want to reach a goal and their is someone in my way really the most efficient thing to do is get rid of them Period not just stun them as then they can (and usually do) come up behind me and give me what fore. But the Convention (yes this is my new favorite word here) is that you cant just Kill the hero or his/her friends. Good guys win Bad guys Lose Accept it.
Guys lets not be rude to folks who have only just watched this weeks episode. We are bound to get points repeated, especially when the show starts to air in other countries, as those folks will likely all jump on these threads ![]()
A theme that’s repeated endlessly in fiction.

Scott Evil: Aren’t you going to watch them? They’ll get away.
Dr Evil: No we’ll leave them alone and not actually witness them dying, and we’ll just assume it all went to plan.
Scott Evil: I have a gun, in my room. Give me five seconds, I’ll come back and blow their brains out!
DrEvil: No Scott, you just don’t get it, do you?
He killed Claudus with a knife, not an energy blast. His blast at the clerics looked different. I think it looked like it had almost a bladelike appearance to it. If he had no reservation to kill Claudus and the Clerics, why toy with Lion-O and his friends, and why spend so much time pouring energy on Lion-O when after several seconds of doing so before Jaga could begin to react, it hadn’t done the job? I see no reason why Mumm-Ra should have tried to spare them.
Which makes me think of another point. How did Mumm-Ra get there when he wasn’t in the Ever-Living form? Jaga could only point the way. But how could Mumm-Ra have gotten through everything, especially the blades? I assume that once Cheetara released the buttons that stopped them, they would have resumed. I could see Mumm-Ra arriving at the Tower of Omens in Ever-Living form where he could fly, but how the other?
What about an amoral merc? :sneaky:
Ah, thanks. I do remember that… no switches then (glad I’m not crazy lol).
Why would he have to go through all of that? Jaga didn’t point the way to the room of traps, he pointed the way to the Tower, which was a separate building. Mumm-Ra only needed to wait til Lion-O disabled the Tower’s protections.
Mumm-Ra did not kill Claudus with an energy blast. While disguised as Panthro, Mumm-Ra killed Claudus by stabbing him in the back with a dagger.
