We will have to agree to disagree. Armada had it’s faults, but I enjoyed it. I liked most of the characters and the overall story. And the accompanying toyline was great. A lot better than those awful soft near transparent plastic and almost completely hollow rubbish they currently make. Most importantly though it had all the fundamental points that made it a Transformers show that appealled to TF and G1 fans. Primeis a truck, Autobots good, Decepticons bad, come to Earth , befriend some humans, Starscream is a jet and wants to replace Megatron as leader etc etc.,
Personally I found the attempted humour in Thundercats very cringe worthy. I don’t think it was well plotted as if it was we wouldn’t have had so many filler episodes and had to wait until half way through for it to get interesting.
The TMNT reboots are not radically different. They are still the four ninja turtles that live in a sewer and fight crime and Shredder. In the 80’s cartoon Splinter was a human that mutated into a rat but in the original Mirage comics and the live action movie he was a rat that got mutated. The 2003 show kept the comic origin but the 2012 series kept the 80’s cartoon origin. As for Krang he was created for the 80’s cartoon but based on the Utrons from the Mirage comic. The 2003 show used the Utron race. The 2012 series used Utron’s and Krang by having the Utron’s be peaceful and the Krang evil. Like I said the 2012 series uses a mixture of aspects from all of the TMNT mythos.
Netflix would be the best place for thundercats, rebooting it might be difficult but I’m sure it can be done easier and better then what they have done! both cartoons were drawn by a Japanese company I think it would be best to get it to an American one like the guys doing Voltron right now
I would much rather have studio mir of Korea retold a season 2 of the 2011 series which is a little more connected to the original series, add some marvel Starr mythos too. If you don’t like it , that’s your problem.
Tmnt, MLP: fim, transformers are great cartoons and all, but they’ve become overrated , while thundercats have been treated like a joke these days
That’s my opinion.
oh god no! Keep south korea company’s out and away from our cartoons
Marvel has nothing to do with thundercat besides those comics everybody hated, Since they won’t continue the 2011 TC reboot that’s your problem
For them to be considered a joke someone’s gotta talk about them, which there is none except those at Warner Brothers. there’s actually a lot of talk about thundercats at WB many people try to bring it back but WB only thinks a show is a success if it’s toys sell well because that’s were they would get most of there money back, There idiots they gave it to the worst channel for new cartoons and they gave it the worst time slot they had but the funny thing is it still had good amount of viewers to be successful but the internet battle between the old fans and the new fans probably didn’t help, truthfully the writers and and artists were pretty bad choice for the reboot
There is just so much wrong with the 2011 TC reboot that it could fill pages and pages. It is quite obvious that the makers wanted to make something completely different from the OS. All they did was take the names, the looks and the weapons from the OS and then told their writers to concoct a brand new story featuring these things and gave them full freedom to mix and match things and make up stuff as they want. That is not how a reboot is done.
The various TMNT differed slightly from the original but were in no way “radically different”. They didn’t make April into Splinter’s daughter, or make Michelangelo betray his brothers and join forces with Shredder, or cut off Donnie’s hands or make the Turtles aliens from the planet Krypton!
The main heroes were unlikeable: Claudus was a tyrant and the Cats only tormented the other species. So why should I or anyone feel sorry when Claudus is killed? He got his comeuppance. Why should anyone root for the Cats? After years of doing wrong to all the different animal species, Lion-O and his band of misfits are only now trying to fix that. This does not make them into “great heroes”.
Tygra was a jerk! Plain and simple.
Cheetara was pretty much useless. She started out as a Cleric and I expected that that would result in her having a more prominent role and actually doing something useful. Instead she ended up being nothing more than a cheerleader. And what was with her raggedy clothes? Worst outfit EVER! WB call this a “redesign”??? Say what you will about the 80s show but the 80s Cheetara is easily among the top 10 kick-ass female animated characters.
The secondary characters were terrible. The flower people, the paper magicians??? WTF??? The OS had much better and interesting secondary characters.
Too many damn filler episodes.
The storylines were unoriginal rip-offs of other more popular media such as Star Wars, NeverEnding Story, The Dark Crystal, Moby Dick, Oliver Twist, HALO, Final Fantasy, Indiana Jones, and so on. The overall story never felt like it was Thundercats.
The contrived romantic angle. It was unneeded and felt really forced. And Lion-O’s greatest betrayal was that Cheetara liked Tygra? Big deal!! Lion-O was a hormonal teenager. He would have fallen for Snarf if Snarf had b**bs. It’s not like Lion-O and Cheetara were Romeo and Juliet and had been passionately in love for years and years.
Lion-O’s affinity for getting betrayed. He is betrayed by Tygra, by Cheetara, by Pumyra. The TC get betrayed by Vultaire, by Grune. The whole betrayal thing was done too many times in the show.
The music was forgetful.
I will admit that I was impressed with the way Kaynar and Addicus were written. They were truly evil villains. But that’s about it. Everything else about the reboot was just a hodgepodge of elements and designs borrowed from other shows. I have nothing against those that like the reboot, but claiming that it is true to the OS or a worthy adaptation is simply false.
My favourite thing about the whole 2011 cartoon was Pumyra. I loved her design and never expected her to betray them. I had hoped to see some redemption down the line, but alas, we never got there. I agree too that the mutants were very well written. They were truly scary!!!
There wasn’t going to be any redemption for her the writers planned the second season to have pumyra ask for more power so mum-ra turns her into a insect she then would die and tygra would also die but some how cheetera gives birth to Bengali…um Ya ok.
Lion-o learns nothing in this new series there was no growth for him cuz he got through an episode learning something but never display what he learns in other episodes.
It was poorly written just like the last thing the same writers wrote the thundercats comics
I missed a few things when i wrote this not remembering how much of a dictator claudus was. It’s kind of good he got killed. Good job, Mumm-Ra, you actually did something good for once, lol.
Thanks. Like I said before the reboot was wasted potential. If the writers had spent more time making something original instead of ripping off anime and other media the show could have been much better and having learned more about what season 2 would have been like I am glad it got cancelled. Next time they want to make something more faithful to a series they need to try getting fans to write it or people who respect the media. That’s what they did for that one muppet film that came out a few years ago and it was a very well done film even if it did have its flaws. I am not saying make a reboot the exact same as the original but at least try to keep it faithful to the source material, and by that I don’t mean base it on events from that awful DC comics sequels they made in the early 2000s. The only good thing about those comics was the art for the most part was really well done. I mean that’s where I got my avatar image from.
This! Especially with cheetera she was the biggest disappointment in the show design and personality wise, she was pointless and the fact the writers again. try to get cheetera and tygra together after there failure with the comics
You can complaint about the
2011 series’ characters designs, development and storyline all you want ! Despite of its flaws, it’s still a great show , if Dan Norton and studio 4C asked for more better writers for a season 2 than the one what they’ve planned . some you should just give it another chance.
no we shouldn’t, need writers couldn’t save that show and Norton should’ve been kicked from the project once he showed off his designs for the thundercats
well the only good thing from those new designs was the fact lion-o now wore pants and pumyra’s outfit was all right. lol As for the reboot, lucky, it was NOT a great show. No matter how many times you insist it was you’re not going to change the reality that it wasn’t.
