but the episode where that happened the flashback was through tigra’s eyes for the most part and not hers. after that bit of history she was basically demoted to love interest.
I think the pilot could have benefitted from a 15 minutes sequence of “15 years ago” and show how Panthro went in his mission with Grune, how was Cheetara’s training and what were Tygra’s feelings towards Claudus and Lion-O (say what you want but IMO Claudus was very indifferent towards Tygra no matter how he praiesd him: right after the Queen died, Claudus didn’t stay to comfort him, andjust before dying, he told Lion-O how proud he was about him and had absolutely no words for Tygra, the other person he raised since day 1 -or 5- as his own cub). Also, something on Jaga and Lynx-O would have been nice, at least some short appearences.

The pilot would have been a lot better if it had started with Panthro an Grune searching for the book of omens and discovering Mumm-Ra. Then of course a lot of other changes like not having the cats the villains of third earth and better introductions for each character.

They could’ve had all that in a TC reboot that’s closer to the original. Focusing on today’s social topics doesn’t make it any better besides it was a train wreck. The story telling was awful, if I recall the writers were same guys that wrote the wildstorm(company) thundercats comics. terrible my biggest issues were tigra,cheetera(she completely blames lion-o) and the wily twins get raped, tigra and cheetera have kids why!

In all reality if it was in the same universe just with different thundercats and the back story more related to the original cartoon the show 2011 might have had a better reception to the fans just leave out the war stones and give them a different villain

My feelings exactly. They shoulda kept the original universe and characters and update some things to make it more suitable to the present times. The 2002 He-Man reboot is a prefect example of how a reboot should be done.

Well the 2002 He-Man cartoon anyway…the toyline is another subject, like how to not handle a toyline lol. At least with the Thundercats 2011 Bandai didn’t make 20 versions of Mumm-Ra and Lion-O. 
There has been some great cartoon reboots like He-Man 2002, TMNT 2003, TMNT 2012, Voltron 2016, Transformers Armada/ Prime/ Animated. Some are even better than the originals.
TransFormers Armada? Really? That’s one of the worst cartoons of all time. And both Animated and Prime, while interesting shows, are even more different from G1 than this ThunderCats reboot was to the original.
I think you are having some real double standards here or I have to question how well we know the source material. The TMNT reboots are equally different than the cartoon that proceeded them.
I promise if the show had continued for at least 52 episodes, it would have really made a much better impression. It was very likely they intended a lot of things to end up differently than they had at the end of season 1. And by that I mean end up in a way that would make fans smile.
I LOVED the MOTU 2002 reboot. Too bad toys sales weren’t good and they decided to cancel it. The 3rd season sounded really interesting with Hordak coming to Eternia and He-Man being sort of an outcast.

Hey now, Armada is much better than the trainwreck that came after it. Energon is the one that is terrible and didn’t make a lick of sense. As for getting back to the Thundercats reboot. It had some good ideas but they were done poorly or certain things would pop up that would make for good storylines but were abandoned too soon. I think there are a few fanfictions that people wrote that fixed the problems the reboot had.

Armada, Animated and Prime were fun shows. I personally liked Armada for the most part…Energon and Cybertron were not very good. Armada and Prime were good, although there was some aspects to both I wasn’t super keen on.
As far as a bad cartoon goes I think a prime example of that would be Transformers: Combiner Wars. The worst Transformers cartoon ever made!

The TMNT reboots are different from the original for a couple of reasons.
The 2003 series is different because it is to be more like the original Mirage TMNT comics which were significantly different to the cartoon that was created in the 80’s.
The 2012 reboot is different as it is a mixture of incorporating various aspects of the TMNT mythos from the 80’s cartoon, 2003 cartoon, Mirage comics, Archie Comics and the various live action movies.
Considering the various plots they had in store for the second season I doubt it would have made the fans like the series much more. In fact I would go as far as to say it was better they didn’t make the second season.

That’s just bollocks! I don’t know anything about the various Transformers series, but the TMNT series were a helluva lot more similar to the cartoons than the Thundercats reboot was to its predecessor. The protagonists are still four anthropomorphic turtles who were mutated into that form and they are led by their master Splinter who is a humanoid rat and he trained them in martial arts. The turtles still wear four different colored bandanas (Blue, Red, Purple, Red) and carry their signature weapons. They still live under the sewer and try to protect the humans from the evil Shredder and his ninja Foot Clan. Their human friend is still April O’Neal. I could go on and on and on.
They updated some things changed a few things around. Reduced the humor and focused on more serious issues. They didn’t stray nearly as far away from the source as the 2011 Thundercats. It’s obvious that you are the one who doesn’t know his source material.
And you can’t “promise” that the second season would have made the show great. You cannot promise something that never happened. We can only praise or criticize what is not what could have been. I cannot promise that “Indiana Jones and the Monkey King” would have been a great movie because it was never made. Maybe the second season of Thundercats would have been better, maybe not. But based on the proposed plots listed by @Mark M it is obvious that the show was going to stray even further from the source

No. They had no respect for the source material. They knew what show they wanted to make, something similar to Avatar The Last Airbender. All they did was just attach the Thundercats names to it.
Indeed. And before anyone tries to contradict those plot points. Those details are direct from Dan Norton from Power-Con a couple years ago. Regardless of toy sales I can understand why the network wasn’t interested in a second season.
I would say though from the prototype picture that at least Lion-O second season appearance was going to look a lot better and a lot more like he did in the original series.

The details I read did not specify Bengali’s age. I would like to think he would be around the same age as Kit and Kat in the first season.
As for Lynxo I am not sure if it was an intentional action or an accident. From the details I read it was just that Lynxo ordered a lot of swamp destroyed to push the reptiles further back and expand the Thundercats empire. However the swamp is where a lot of the reptile tribe keep their eggs.
I always found it funny how they blamed the failure of the 2011 series on the fact the toys didn’t sell well. Someone at WB actually greenlighted this series and really thought kids would want toys of these characters!
They even compared 2011 Thundercats to Young Justice, a show that was great but had awful toys made by…guess who lol… Mattel. Granted at least they made all the main characters…in the 4" scale but they were not very fun or interesting toys. Young Justice was a wonderfully written show with interesting characters and great stories and an over arcing plot. That’s why people have campaigned so much for the series to get another season which thankfully it finally is getting in 2018.
Armada is terrible. It can’t even get names right half the time, the Mini-Cons don’t speak, the pacing is poor, and the human stereotypes are painful. The writing is cringe-worthy. The animation gets really sloppy as the series goes on as well.
I get that TMNT part 2 was closer to the comics, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t radically different than the original cartoon, which it was. As is the new series. Is Splinter a mutant rat? Or is he a human transformed? Is Kraang a singular being or a species? Or is he completely left out?
I think you didn’t like the choices they made on the new series, but it was still very much ThunderCats and it was a very well plotted show in my opinion. A worthy adaptation.
I really hope you’re kidding about Thundercats reboot being worthy. It wasn’t. Why did they have to make Pumyra, one of the kindest Thundercats, evil? Why make mumm-ra just another thundercat who experimented on himself? Why is he racist against animals when he is also an animal? If he were actually a human it would make sense but it doesn’t. Why did they basically make the Cats species on third earth basically dictators? The other species on third earth really didn’t think too highly of them and the way they treated the lizards was horrible. The fact all the animal species worked together to beat Mumm-Ra in the flashbacks only makes it worse. They all could have chosen to live in peace but it seems the cast in that series got too big for their fur and decided to enslave other species. With that in hindsight maybe things would have been BETTER if they’d all remained servants to Mumm-Ra.
