Is it official? - Has ThunderCats been cancelled? :(

four horsemen

now that pretty much all of the aspects of the cartoon and its failure have been covered i can only think of one realistic possibility…that the four horsemen or some other serious toy line make thundercats toys…id be absolutely content and at peace…if the new cartoon did not make the cut with the new kids then let us grown up collectors invest in a serious toy line…i am so envious of the MOTU…theyre line has been amazing, does anyone know how that works…can we start a petition or contact the four horsemen and let them know us thundercats fans are eager to spend money on a thundercats line!!! i know they’d make a killing…

Also, just cause you have the power to blow up a galaxy does not mean you are unbeatable. That’s just a big fat weapon that went lost (i assume) when they crashed.

Darth Vader and Darth Sidious was not unstopppable just cause they had the death star and blew up a planet. The rebels did destroy it and also beat all evil there is, now i know the story continues in the books but let’s just say for the sake of this comment that the last SW movie is the end of the story.

Yes, I did see them in order on tv to a point, then, I traveled. I did get to see the rest in order via Amazon. We agree to disagree. The show just did nothing for me. The balloon thing may haved worked in Puss in Boots, but not for Thundercats. As for appealing to evil to do good, it never computes for me.

MGP

I assumed the Tigers didn’t know that the ASOE were evil. They only called them the “Ancient Spirits” and their history told them that the Ancient Spirits helped them survive after they split from the other Cats.

And to be fair, the ASOE did cure them, but Javan didn’t hold up his end of the bargain so they reversed it.

but they would go bankrupt trying to buy the license in order to make the figures.

it is easy to say “lets get the 4H to do it”, but in reality, it costs a lot of money to produce figures, and that doesnt even come close to how much the rights to the characters will cost before they can even start

realistically, Mattel would be the best bet for these, being that they are the main client of the 4H. but keep in mind how they have handled MOTUC, DCUC and Ghostbusters

I still have high hopes it will come back, and had anyone else seen this post? i’m sorry if its someplace else on the forum but from heath issues right now I can’t fish the forums looking for it.. take it either way you want.. I still think that no matter what thundercats will forever be a part of mainstream culture.

Most of us have seen in ZeroZhane, it fact it was posted on facebook and Dan Norton responded to it letting us know for now no one was working on Thundercats and it would take years to bring it back. That has basically been our confirmation of cancellation.

Only reason why I asked was I know bandai has still plans for thundercats is all.. but I guess they can release classic figures as long as people still buy them until the cow’s come home without a new series on TV.

Yeah believe me I spent a LOT of money on toys and such here. I have both DVD sets, just about all the toys and more than one piece of some. I only opened my thundertank and a extra Lion-O 4" for the thundertank. I will still buy the 3rd DVD set and the nintendo DS game. The nintendo DS game better not get canceled too. It’s only about 3 weeks away till release in america here too. I am a life long fan since 1985 as well.

And I know as others have said here have spent a LOT more on the toys than me as well. The problem with toy sales was availability too. I had to buy a good chunk of the thundercats 2011 toys online. Places like walmart, kmart, target, etc etc just didn’t get enough of them. Then there’s the huge lack of wave 2 stuff as well. That 6" Tygra should have never been rare and I did manage to get it online for around $22 after a while. Slithe should not be rare either. And the storm charger shouldn’t be rare as well. If they want toy sales bad enough none of the thundercats 2011 toys should be rare at all.

It’s official - ThunderCats have been cancelled :frowning:

The canceling of the show was and still is a low punch for me. And the worst part is that I know complaining won’t help at all…I’d die to buy the DVD sets but they haven’t come out on my country and I really have no idea when they’ll be released…

what the

U no I don’t care for these new people who run these decisions on weather r not a cartoon r toy line should be cancelled r kept going the thundercats got the short end of the stick and that’s not fair all the people who love these cartoons and toys I think some one should be fired cause of this the thundercats didn’t get any kind of commercials r very little should I say any smart business would no with out any promotion and fans not able to see any promotion how are things gonna go good for sales r ratings for that fact these people sit their lazy in an air conditioned office just pushing a pin they have no idea what people won’t nor do they care as long as they make a paycheck for stupid decisions what happened to these people I personally won’t ljn back maybe we would still get some awesome toys so with that said as far as WB and bandai go y’all can kiss the real worlds and oh as far as cn goes y’all can do the same maybe one day a real toy company will get the master license to the toys and the cartoon

4H

youre right i actually meant mattel working with 4H, how have they handled MOTUC, ive been buying the and everything seems ok..is there something i missed??

I don’t think it’s as much of a quandry, Lynxie. It’s kind of the same situation Battlestar Galactica fans have; writing fanfiction for either the original or 2003 series. Both exist, and as far as I can tell, have been happily co-exisiting side by side for a while now. So among fans, it’s now become a point of preference, like picking an ice cream flavor. Do you want to write old BSG or new? Classic Tcats or reboot? Vanilla or chocolate? That’s kind of how I see it.

Personally, Laura and I have set our fics in the classic TCats universe, albeit set 5-10 years in the future and with our own spin on it…to the point where we’ve since included Daleks, Cylons, Xenomorphs and Klingons in it. So it’s now become its own distinctive thing. So we’ve become rather attached to it in building our own continuity. But that’s just us. I’m sure lots of other fans have their own preferences as well.

Cancellation Confirmed?

Just came across this:

http://www.thundercats.ws/news/thundercats-cartoon-news-3/rip-thundercats-2011-2012-504/

I guess it is really is as good as over, then. It had a great run while it lasted.

Not to sound rude… but that is really old news. Everyone knows about that. In addition, if you check the sic fi mag thread it’s still in hiatus.

Sorry; I haven’t been around in a while. I also think I misread the posting date of that piece of ‘news’, silly me :stuck_out_tongue:

I am starting to get a bit tired of the ‘cancellation’ news that keeps popping up and I do hope they’ll get the show back on it’s feet.

I’m tired of that “cancellation” excuse as well.

Excuse? The excuse would be them refusing to say if it’s renewed or not. I would actually welcome a cancellation statement at this point.

This is giving me a headache. I’m still glad the producers meant well in all the rebooting. In the end, they really should’ve stuck with the movie.

I still hold out hope. I know it’s stupid, but I’ll wait years if I can see this show come back. We never got to see Lynx-o again, and never got Bengali introduced into the story. I’m not giving up on this series, even if it’s clearly a lost cause.
