The dark moons of Plundaar will probably show up at some point. The design of the planet in the flashbacks is very OS Thundera though.

According to some of the concept art previously seen in interviews Plunn-dar is going to be a Mountain.

Presumably then the Lunataks will be native to Thundera? Doesn’t seem right somehow.

Though not a deal breaker if they are actually menacing this time around. Always thought that most of them besides Allura and Chilla were dead weight.

I’m wondering if the Lunataks will be living versions of Mumm-Ra’s race or something. It would add in more to his backstory as well.

Just watched the second clip again, and I’m getting a feeling that the Cats used to be that bad guys, anybody else begining to think that too?

“Used to be”? A lot of them seem to have been you-know-whats up to the fall of Thundera.

Ocelli’s and my idea was that the Mutants at least might have originated on Earth; that their ancestors were taken by aliens in the distant past to be genetically engineered as shock troopers for a planned invasion that never happened, as the race that made them had died out. (with the reveal being that it would have tied into “The War of the Worlds”). And the Thunderians, on the other hand, just happened to evolve along the same lines as terrestrial cats.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the big reveal turned out to be that all the animal races on Third Earth were actually the result of some massive genetic experiment in the very distant past and that they were all sent to that planet for some reason. There seem to be subtle clues here and there in dialogue that seem to be pointing that way at least. As long as they don’t show us the ruins of the Statue of Liberty at the end!

The genetic experiment thing also runs through many fandoms like yours and mine. I got some members of both groups (Cats & mutants) off from Homeworld (Third Earth), but have never revealed why except to imply that Guardians (aliens that came to earth after we screwed up,and created the new races) had a hand in it for their own reason, which included leaving some behind.

I am still deciding about the Statue of Liberty thing, but I did not think it would last 9000 years.

I’ve theorized this premise as plausable but I don’t like that it kind of elevates Mumm-Ra to godlike status. I’d prefer it if Mumm-Ra came from an advanced species or just had access to knowledge that others don’t from the Ancient Spirits of Evil instead. He is better suited as a master manipulator-- not a creator.

I want to know why he is an Egyptian Mummy in the NS. On Third Earth there was a reason for him being an evil mummy, a creature of long tradition.

That clip was kinda… Meh.

I like flashbacks though, my problem is that we get to much flashbacks but almost no moving forward in the actual story.

We get to know about their past before we even know the characters we are FOLLOWING.

Having a good back story on a character defines that character and set the character up for future plot development. Personally, the flashbacks help me understand more of the nuanced details that are making this series so intriguing for me.

I was trying to watch this preview clip on another site yesterday but I could only ever get the first few seconds. It would stop right as Lion-O was getting sucked into the book. Having said that I tried like 3-4 times to watch it and I will admit every time I saw Lion-O get Zapped I Laughed my @$$ off. Finally this morning I saw the entire clip here and again ROTFLMAO When Lion-O gets Zapped. The line that keeps coming to me is from Batteries Not included where Jessica Tandy says “Who in his right mind stands in a puddle and sticks a fork in a wall socket?”
