If You Could Re-Write An Episode Of Thundercats Which Would It Be?

I couldn’t agree more.

Well, OK, it doesn’t get highlighted at the end, but it’s clear to the viewer that Tygra makes the potion on his own. He is the first one back to normal size, before any catchphrases come into play!

And really he SHOULD have got the credit in the end! But all they did was make the joke about the oversized Snarf!

Like when Panthro got some credit at the end of “Graden of Delights” because of his “ingenuity” with the spying-badge thing.

He could have got credit at the end of “Pumm-Ra” and “Out of Sight”. TCs never got him the credit he deserved, that’s why I always say he was uderrated and underunppreciated even by his teammates (which is the writers’ work after all).

wait, he didn’t get credit for saving the day in “out of sight”?

Nope, because at the end he was turned to visibility with Nayda and then came the Treetop Kingdom rebuilding scene and the final joke.

I’d have made Alluro a foil for Tygra in terms of mind power, as Red-Eye was a foil for Lynx-O in terms of sight.

But then they shouldn’t have dropped Tygra’s mind powers to the trash can but use them more instead.

Actually I’d have written an episode where Tygra was mortified by the strain his mind powers caused him and finally used them to save the day and then learnt to manage them, like Cheetara did with her sixt sense in “Telepathy Beam”.

That would’ve given Tygra some amazing character development.

Safari Joe Shooting them emergy bolts but it’s Tygra that pushes Cheetara out of the way and not the other way around. Would Cheetara be able to beat SJ than if them emergy bolt

Let’s go back to the topic at hand here. Why don’t we all just mention some bits in episodes you do enjoy that you would have changed to make the episode better.

I believe I’d change the episode “The Sound Stones” so that Snarfer’s knowledge of Third Earth lore would come from his time at Cat’s Lair’s library.

Yes it was! Did anyone else catch some of the “SilverHawks” music used in this episode? Makes me think they were indeed apart of the ThunderCats universe!

Yes, I did.

Add some explanation in “Dream Master” for why Mumm-Ra doesn’t do Lion-O as well as the others that first night!

My headcanon is Mon*Star is a Thundercat.

Because Mumm-Ra likes to fight Lion-O.

I think “Return to Thundera” also deserved a little bit of tweaking to explain how Lion-O returns back from Thundera to Third Earth.

And for that matter, why the time capsule has these abilities in the first place!

The only change I would ever have made to any of the episodes would have been the finale. I would have had Tygra and Pumyra join them in getting the items to the relevant locations - it was a real bummer not having them feature in the finale’s action. I would have perhaps even had them return to New ThunDera saying that it was now in good hands and that Mandora and Snowman and Willy & Nayda was in charge. Those two really deserved to join the others. (Maybe Cheetara felt threatened by the Pumyra’s youth and beauty hahaha and asked Lion-O to leave her behind with Tygra)

Good thoughts. Yes, they should have got the whole team together for the finale, and even freed the Mutants (and maybe even the Lunataks) to provide some more danger. Made it a 2-parter perhaps.

Interesting thoughts about Pumyra - usually the “joke” on here is that Lion-O felt threatened by Tygra as a rival for Cheetara! I do wonder if anything did blossom between Tygra and Pumyra . . . ah, probably not. Maybe they had developed an active dislike of each other, and that’s why they kept watch from separate buildings?

That reminds me. The Tower Of Omens was set up SPECIFICALL to keep watch on the Lunataks in Dark Side. With them out of the picture, surely Cats’ Lair could have been used for all the monitoring anyway?

That’s quite a true statement regarding the Tower of Omens. I think perhaps they repurposed it and it thus offered the two of them a wider angle to spot any “problems” on Third Earth. I actually never thought that Pumyra and Tygra had the hots for one another. Cheetara and Tygra perhaps, but Pumyra no. That’s perhaps why they let them stay behind.
I love your ideas of a 2 parter ending. The mutants (and lunataks) free could’ve meant some great problems - especially if they all went to New ThunDera and tried to stop them from having the items be at those places at that time. Another reason to have those items be there at that time could have been that it would mean the eternal entrapment of the mutants, mumm-ra and the lunataks in the astral plain, or a different dimension. Which would give proper closure to their storyline with them now being gone and never coming back. It could’ve driven the cats to get those items there in time AND ask for Tygra and Pumyra’s help. Hell, they could’ve even said that there was something on Third Earth that was needed to “finish the job” and activate the portal which would’ve departed the baddies. Oh well, it is what it is I guess.
