If You Could Re-Write An Episode Of Thundercats Which Would It Be?

I too missed that when I was a kid. The whole Tygra resisting eating the fruit and Willa pretending to be with Mumm-Ra as well what Lion-O, Cheetara, and Panthro learned from Panthro’s belt recorder thingy was all a bit too ambiguous. It’s like the writer himself wasn’t sure if he wanted us to know that these things were going one or if he wanted to reveal them at the end.

I don’t know if the episode should have been re-written, I just mean to say it should have shown in a btter way the struggle and inner conflict in Tygra (he trying to resist the fruit’s effect) until he finally overcomes it, and make it more evident. As they put it, it was just as if the fruit’s effect faded away, and not that Tygra’s will outweighted the addiction, and I think the latter would have been more interesting and would have portrayed Tygra’s as strong-willled, highlightening his strenghts.

I must admit, I didn’t spot that at first, when he resisted eating the fruit. Even as an adult it took me a couple of viewings to take it all in.

I agree. Still a really good episode though but a few tweaks would make it so much better. Still not on the level of a couple other drug taking episodes of other 80’s cartoons though.

I’d also rewrite “Safari Joe” just to remove the not-able-to swim thing (I think many people here would) and change Tygra’s weakness to his vulnerability to external stimuli, like was shown in “Garden of Delights”, “Turmagar the Tuska” and “Crystal Canyon”. Maybe SJ could have hypnotized him somehow?

I’d rewrite “The Trouble with ThunderKittens” to have Kat and Kit use the spare weapons in Cat’s Lair’s weapons room instead of Tygra, Cheetara, and Panthro’s weapons. I’d insert Vultureman into proceedings to give depth to the ThunderKittens’ plight, and have both Lion-O and the kittens resolve the situation without the other ThunderCats’ help.

I would rewrite “Runaways”. Either make them become captured by Mumm-Ra and they free themselves or when they run away Mumm-Ra attacks the lair and captures the other cats and they have to rescue them from him.

Bengali at least got a decent amount of air time. Poor Pumyra was hardly featured minus Mumm-rana’s Belt.

Hmm, I’d say that’s more “Sword In A Hole”, when they’re saying at the end about how it took the skills of all of them to escape the black hole. Also “Divide And Conquer” when everyone has a hand in helping someone else, except Panthro.

Might be. I consider it (“Wolfrat”) a “team work” episode as nobody highlightens Tygra’s skills and how they saved the day at the end, as they did lots of times when it was Lion-O, Cheetara, Snarf or the kittens the ones to save the day.
