I think IDW should do ThunderCats comics because of how they did Transformers, TMNT, Ghostbusters, and Voltron. It would be like how MJ and ES promised to make the ThunderCats dark and cinamatic but you rarely see it becoming dark but they could do the G1 ThunderCats first.
Seconded! IDW has been doing great stuff with Transformers especially…and even Star Trek too! They could definitely do justice to Tcats!
Who knows? Maybe in case the show does end up getting cancelled, they could arrange something to continue the storyline in the comics.
The ThunderCats universe deserves to shine again in the comic-book world. ![]()
If IDW does do ThunderCats, I hope they make Kaynar as insane as his NS counterpart but instead of doing a joker/deadpool psychopath, they should make Kaynar a real psychopath: arrogant, aggressive, perverted, sadistic, and devoid of conscience or morality. But he should also be schizophrenic because of the voices in his head.
Kaynar should truly be acting like a psychopath and not a generic one.
yeah but do you think kaynar’s schizophrenic, as well, because he claims he can hear voices in his head?
Yes, I do, kman.
I’ve already got my IDW username and password andhave written a topic on the board.
I guess no one on this thread has any idea about the fan comic?
Oh, we do but we just want to see if IDW would ThunderCats but not the NS THunderCats but the G1 ThunderCats, Hammy.
It’s far more likely that Warner Bros. would give it to one of DC’s imprints like Wildstorm again, since they own them.
I would actually really love for IDW to pick up the license.
After the Wildstorm TCats comics I’m hesitant to want anyone to make them. It was like they knew parts of the story, but didn’t quite get it, or didn’t respect the source material. and tried to make it too mature.
I heard that BOOM! Studios got the license to publish comics based on Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time.
yeah, I’ve seen the Adventure Time comics and find them amusing. But IDW Publishing would do a better job. You would see a lot of elements like insanity, loyalty, honor, death, infidelity, puberty, romance, cosmology, culture, etc. We would even see better background stories of the main characters, even the villains. We would even see how the Thunderian, and Plun-Darren, society functions.
The heroes and villains of “ThunderCats” (the OS world) would be much more handled that way.
yep, they would handle it better than DC/Wildstorm. also, would it be funny if G1 Lion-O, mentally, hits puberty because, physically, he already hit puberty. Lion-O, mentally, hitting puberty would be a great concept where he’ll start becoming rebellious and starts to not listen to the others, he would start noticing Cheetara’s breasts, and his childish view of Third-Earth would disappear and would be replace with something else. I got this from a fanfic called “Youth,” except without a succubus and Lion-O aging and dying.
Here’s a good IDW idea of G1 ThunderCats. This is about the culture of Thundera. You would see the Thunderians having advance technology, yet living in a primitive, medieval lifestyle. They are ruled by a council held by the leaders of different clans with the exception of the head of the Lion Clan being King of Thundera and Lord of the ThunderCats. Each clan would, also, have its own culture like the Cheetah Clan being mystics and psychics, the Tiger Clan having a shamanistic, yet scientific, culture, the Panther Clan having a kratocratic, yet technological, culture, the wildcat Clan having an agricultural culture while being masters of trickery, and the Lion Clan would have a chivalrous race of cats having a strict code of honor, i.e. the Code of Thundera.
An amazing concept. ![]()
indeed, it is an amazing concept
I’m for it also; there’s a lot about Thundera that needs to be told. ![]()
