Just going to toss this out here regarding Claudus and the dubious honor of his “favor”:
Every time Claudus praised Tygra at Lion-O’s expense it was a double-edge sword of bad parenting.
On Lion-O’s end, his father was shaming him by comparing him unfavorably to his older brother, thus encouraging the self-esteem issues in Lion-O that contributed to him slacking off from his princely duties because he believed that he would never measure up to Tygra anyway so there was little point in trying.
On Tygra’s end, his father’s praise actually had nothing to do with him since Claudus was just using him as a bludgeon to try to whip Lion-O into shape and, in the process, reaffirming over and over that Tygra’s efforts meant nothing to Claudus because he wasn’t Claudus’ “real” son, thus driving Tygra’s dedication to perfectionism and overachievement because he was made to feel fundamentally unworthy.
The moral of this being that Claudus was a terrible father who promoted deep self-esteem issues in both his sons and a fraught relationship laced with bitter rivalry between them by constantly pitting them against each other.

Tygra and Lion-O have both experienced hardships. Tygra’s problems cannot be compared to Lion-O’s. They both have mostly resolved them. End of story.

I don’t hate the character; I dislike him vastly.
The OCD fans who come out to brownshirt anyone who doesn’t agree that he is the cat’s meow…that’s another story.

No one said you had to like every character. I’m not going to think less of you because you don’t like Tygra. I didn’t really like him until after “New Alliances”.
I really don’t care whether you like Tygra or not. The problem is how incredibly rude you come across when you talk about people who do like him. Like you’re on a mission to shoot down the silly, misguided, Twilight-loving “Tygraholics” (oh, and apparently they have OCD as well!) and are trying to create as much fandom-othering and pointless drama between the fans as you possibly can. You act like Tygra-fans are an enemy (even going as far as warning others about them) that must be fought whenever they show up to add their positive opinions on a character you dislike to discussions. Comments like this one:

Just seeing things like this makes me tired, and it’s one of the main reasons I left the fandom a few months ago. I thought it would have blown over by now, but apparently it hasn’t.
Did you ever stop and think about how leaders are treated in real life too? take the US president for example - everyone keep copmplaining about him messing up with this and that . and even when he does something good people forget it pretty fast and go back to pointing out his evey flaw…
When you get alot of respnsibility in your role , people are gonna do that all the time… it’s not like old times when a king was just someone with power ruling above others and if you dare complain about anything you’ll be killed off infront of a crowd to be an example .

And no, I don’t think all the Tygra fans are the enemy; just the OCD ones that go rabid anytime someone posts a criticism of the character.

Thanks, I’ll try to heed that advice. I guess my other fandom has spoilt me. I’m not used to people trying to stir up drama just for giggles.

It’s only on threads where people try to say they don’t like another character in the title of the thread itself. Any other thread ends up fine.

One more thing, Lion-O was chastised and criticized because of his beliefs, and in the end, no one even bothered to point out that he was right about two.
He believed that technology existed, it did, and the only reason it fell Thundera was because the Cats didn’t put much stock into it. If they had, maybe they wouldn’t have gotten caught with their pants down like that
Lion-O also believed that the Cats weren’t being fair or respectful to the other animals, he was right. If the Cats had treated the other animals with more compassion, Mumm-Ra probably wouldn’t have been able to get an army so fast. The only reason the Lizards serve him at all is because he offered them revenge on the Cats. Even the animals that aren’t allied with Mumm-Ra leap at the chance to give the Cats a taste of their own medicine (except for maybe the Elephants).
Point is, Lion-O beliefs turned out to be valid and no one was even offered him an apology for doubting him
I think the whole “fall of Thundera” thing was a big enough “I told you so” that they apologizing would be almost futile. He knew what would happen and it happened. they lost a lot of people, and clearly did not want to talk too much about it.
