If she were to be more of a guest star then i can see it working but I know personally I would like her to be more then a guest star and have more of a role in this series. She really was under utilized in the os and i think she is “due”.
I think Pumyra, Lynxo, and Bengali should all be delegated to guest star status. Watching just the first 13 episodes you can already see how hard it’s been to balance 6 characters, adding 3 more would just make it even harder.
THIS! Like what they eff are they going to do with that many characters? Do we really need that many people standing in the back doing nothing? Heck, we go into most episodes wondering if Tygra or Cheetara are even going to speak.
And even more THIS! Gosh I was hoping we wouldn’t see the other 3 for quite some time it, we’ve barely gotten to know the others yet, I don’t want any of the Thundercats reduced to background characters that have no purpose.
Exactly. It’s hard right now to foucs on other characters that are not Lion-o… imagine 3 more!
Not to mention that in the OS some of the old TCs (especially Tygra) were “forgotten” or written off of some eps with the inclusion of the new ones. I reallly don’t want that to happen this time around.
I would say do Pumyra (and probably Bengali as well) as something high-up in a Thunderan resistance movement. Maybe she could be a doctor or courtier or scout or something, that’s helping to fight back against the occupation. Then the ‘main’ team could either travel there, or the resistance goes to Third Earth, or somesuch, so that while she would be an important character, she wouldn’t become a regular main cast member, keeping the core cast small.
uh…resistance movement? what resistance movement? what are they resisting?
Well… maybe resistance is the wrong word. I was thinking a group of cats, hiding out in the ruins of the capital, striking back at reptilian soldiers and trying to help their fellow survivors.
For an interesting twist, maybe this group could want to put the cats back on top again, and Lion-O’s group have to show them a better option with all the animals working together…
I think all the Thunderians that survived fled. Also I was under the impression that the lizards all mostly left after they invaded and looted the place. If there were a bunch of lizards around the Thundercats would’ve had to sneak out of the city instead of just strolling out in broad daylight.
Just make them recurring allies or something. It would actually add more flavor to Third Earth and open even more possibilities on how surviving Thunderians are doing. Maybe there’s alot more that just don’t give a damn about revenge or re-building thant those who are. And it’d be a fun little aspect for Lion-O do deal with.
Mount Thundera
I really hope Pumyra will appear in the “new alliances” episode, Mike jelenic says they are really going to focus on her and will have several episodes devoted to her, unlike the original series where they ignore her completely!!! And I really hope in new alliances she is part of clan that lives up on the highest mountains of third earth called the “mountain lions” who did not live in Thundera and chose to migrate alone at the time the cats fell on third earth in the episode “legacy” cause the puma has many names if you think about it such as the cougar, mountain cat or the mountain lion they are all the same animal, and the clan are expert hunters who know all about the art of healing, lion-o gets injured and pumyra meets with them and heals him and takes them up to mountains of third earth where the cats make a new alliance with the clan, and I really hope Pumyra becomes a new love interest for lion-o and someday his future queen cause she is a “mountain lion”:pumyrahappy:
I read a theory over on TVTropes on how Pumyra may be introduced in the next few episodes. Spoilers ahead.
It’s possible that Pumyra could find Lion-O and nurse him back to health while he’s doing his trials within the spirit world/astral plane. He may keep his soul through the trials, but his body will still need medical attention if he was supposed to have been dead. This could be a good setup for them becoming a couple. If you’re not a fan of that couple, then I guess it doesn’t work as well though.

Lion-O’s dead. He’s not dying, or almost dead. Jaga said he was dead. There’s no nursing someone back to health if they’re already dead.
When he comes back to life his body may still be in crappy shape
doubt it. The spirit stone is bringing him back right? What’s the point of bringing Lion-O back to life if it doesn’t heal his wounds? He would just die again.
Maybe he will have non fatal wounds.

Even after coming back to life at the end of he trials he’s still under a pile of big friggin’ rocks, he would need some kind of medical attention and since Pumyra was the healer/medic in the old show it would be nice to see her fill this slot again. I also like the idea of her being shy and gentle and not very combat-oriented since it clashes with her desire to heal

I dont remember much about her when I saw the OS when I was little…so I will just wait and see, and be surprised on how they bring her in.
I can’t wait to see Bengali, myself. 
I love how they put the new twists on the looks of the charachters. I like the thinner versions of all the cats. IMO
I didn’t like the 80s bulked up look. But thats how they made a lot of charachters in the 80’s. Time changes everything…and I am a fan of CHANGE! Its interesting!
Okay, so I had another theory that’s been in my mind in a while, but what if NS Pumyra was some sort of double agent like Grune was? Only more like a femm fatale that tries to seduce her way into the group? I don’t think it’s any more likely than her being Lion-O’s mother, but it’s an idea. I don’t really want it to be the case though, I want her to be the kind and gentle healer.
