Ok as everyone here knows pumyra is set to show up next season. taking a break from the relationships stuff. i want to know how they plan to introduce her. for instance in the os Pumyra, Bengali, And Lynx-o were thunderain folks who escape with help of the berbils to third earth. although they arrived on third earth around the same time as the orignal thundercats they crashed somewhere else and only when os lion-o had flashback/nightmare were they brought up. then the rest you know lion-o, jaga, cheetara help find them and go on whole big adverture to rescue and have them join. the end
now they have already introduced lynx-o as a blind general in cameo of the pilot and talk a little bit more in ep. 5.
so that leaves pumyra intro then bengali and lynx-o again.
personally, i like the whole idea of she being raised in different place being trained in healing and to some extent martial arts when she come across the gang, also i would like to have more personality then the whole shy quiet wallflower thing they had for her in the os. another thing i don’t want complete prissy femine and demure and afroid to get messy. if anything i want her to add a bit of katara, a dash of toph, teaspoon of suki and maybe a smidge of yue that way she can be badass and still be a bit girlish with a backbone.
Like I’ve said before, I’d like her to live with other female THunderans (female cats of all the species) in the woods, the equivalent to the OS Warrior Maidens, so she knows the woods; she’d be a great archer and knows natural medicine whih makes her a great healer too.
Maybe Lion-o gets hurt and the TCs can’t heal him, and she shows up and heals him.
I would love for her to be revealed to be a Warrior Maiden. Either the Warrior Maidens in this series are Female Thunderians/ThunderCats (still don’t understand the actual distinction in this new series since Jaga’s comment to little Cheetara about the ThunderCats being her clan) or the Warrior Maidens are still human and found Pumyra when she was either an infant or child after her parents had been killed and raised her.
personally I imagine her being with a group of Thunderian refugees who escaped. Maybe they’ve built a town or something, or they could be traveling in a wondering caravan. I do like the idea of her being a healer, but I don’t think she should be a warrior maiden.

Also, I like the idea of her being raised outside of Thundera, possibly by healers. In mythology, Bears are sometimes attributed great Healing magic, probably due to their powerful Maternal instincts. It would be cool to see her having been raised by some Bear/Ursine Folk.
However, I don’t like the Warrior Maiden angle. It seems to me that by the time OUR Earth becomes Third Earth, there’s almost NO trace of the Human race. Therefore I feel that any introduction of Humans should be remarkable and special, not intertwined and overshadowed by the introduction of another Thunderian.
I’m betting we’ll see that Leo and Tygus split, Leo forming Thundara, and Tygus forming another city someplace else, Leo’s group begot Lion O, Cheetara, Panthro, and the Kittens, Tygus’ faction went down the line to Pumyra, Ben-Gali, AND Tygra. with Tygra in a similar spot as Loki in the Thor movie/comics (hopefully not in the same psychological issues)
and wouldn’t that be a conflict… they get to the city Tygus built… find out Tygra is their long lost heir. Thus making both Lion O and Tygra both Lords of two different Thundercat societies.
The whole split faction thing sounds great but it kind of sounds a bit cliche. But I do like the idea of her being raised by healer group associated with animals that in myth were greatly associated healing. I just thought has anybody thought who would suit pumyra voice actor? I would love it if they choose Tara strong or Cree summer. Also thanks ferris
also if they do make Pumyra Lion O’s love intrest would be a nice nod if they brought in Christy C. Romano, I know Kim Possible fans would get a little giggle at that.
since we saw the Pumas forging the Sword in the flashback, we could have Lion-O somehow damage the sword (i think having him attack Tygra with it over the “betrayal” would suitably damage the sword), and need to seek out forgers to repair it
we then come across the mystic puma village (or remains of it) and find Pumyra as a mage/healer in training as well as Bengali who was adopted much the way Tygra was, and trained as a blacksmith.
they could also use this scenario to explain why 1) Tygra was adopted, and 2) there is a surprising lack of tigers around. going with the above mentioned “Lions went this way, Tigers went that way”, or explain that all the tiger clans were wiped out somehow and the few survivors were adopted by other clans

I don’t think Tigers are part of a different society with Tygra being the only Tiger in Thundera. Remember Cheetara’s comment about Tigers being known for being prideful? How would they be known for that if no one has seen a tiger and hundreds of years?
Personally, i do want to see a Lion-O/Pumyra relationship, i guess i’d just hate for Lion-O to end up alone in this show, especially after that build-up with Cheetara. And for those who don’t like the idea of Pumyra being a “Follow-up girl for Cheetara” hear me out. Maybe the Cheetara thing could’ve just been a build-up that had to be passed, so that Lion-o could finally be with his true love, which i hope is Pumyra.
On a similar note, when and where was it implied that Pumyra was in a relationship with Bengali?
I’d be ok with it. I just hope to see a slow build up. I want to see both characters grow and mature as a result of the other. I don’t want to see it be all about Lion-O, and what she can do for him.
I personally would rather not see another love interest such as Pumyra into the series. I think it would be beneficial to keep Lion-O’s love interest more like how Batman/Bruce Wayne was on Batman:The Animated Series. He didn’t really have a real love interest except for Raj Aguls daughter. And that could never really happen. But it kept Batman on point. Much like Lion-O needs to remain on point when it comes to becoming the prophecized leader of the Thundercats.
There is so much that still needs to be done. They are still wandering around the land and don’t have a “cat’s lair” so to speak.
I wouldn’t mind later on in the series for something to come up, perhaps with a Mandora type character but it not being able to really work out since they both have other priorities.
I like the idea of the Lions and tigers split kingdoms. That would work out really well. GREAT IDEA!! I can her being introduced if they were to do that.
I can see her being introduced into the series as a thunderian that maybe left thundera and came acreoss the Elephant Village where they taught her meditation and possibly healing techniques “from the earth”. Then they simply just forgot about her. thats why they never thought to mention it to the thundercats while they were there.

I like the idea of her as a Love interest for Lion-O. I think it could work without distracting him too much because I believe she’s not going to join the group full time. I think she’ll be more like a guest star and they’ll only see each other on occasion.
I’d break the mold with Pumyra, as well as with Bengali and Lynx-o. For Pumyra, I’d make her a physician who fled Thundera at the first sign of trouble, making her a coward in search of redemption. For Bengali, I’d make him a criminal who was exiled from Thundera months before it’s fall. After the fall, both encounter a wounded Lynx-o and nurse him back to relative health. The soldier part of Lynx-o trusts neither of them, but the civilian part of him feels obligated to them since there are so few cats left.
Yeah, I know it won’t happen, but that’s what I would do if I were asked to write their backstory and intro.
