How can Lion-O still be the nice guy?

I just have to get all of this out: how can Lion-O still find it in his heart to be nice to anybody?

He has a mother he never knew, a father who expected nothing but perfection from him, a brother who never once hesitated to give him a hard time, and he lived among a kingdom of people who had little to no respect for him. How can even still care for his father, his father obviously favor Tygra, you’d think Lion-O would hate Claudus by now.

And just when it seemed like he found someone who (possibly) could’ve understood him, it turns out he was just getting the wrong idea. I still think that Cheetara was at fault here too, i mean, think about it: if it was obvious that Cheetara didn’t like Lion-O, then why did Tygra and the Kittens all think the same thing? If Tygra was so much smarter than Lion-O, shouldn’t he have been able to figure out what was going on? Yet everyone is saying that it was just Lion-O getting the wrong idea.

Furthermore, as i said earlier, people who should be giving him respect, treat him like dirt: Panthro, Grune, the Wilys, those Alley Cats from the pilot, those Cats who torturing the lizards, they all had little to no respect for him. If Tygra approached those Cat groups, they would’ve done exactly what he said, if Tygra spoke to Panthro, he wouldn’t have insulted him. Personally, if i were Lion-O, i would’ve just forgotten about the other Cats, since it was obvious that i owed them nothing. I mean, Lion-O didn’t destroy Thundera, and his people never made him feel like royalty, what does he owe any of them? Answer: nothing!

Even in current times, everyone is still expecting Lion-O to be perfect. Whenever Lion-O comes up with a plan, everybody thinks it’s flawed, yet whenever Tygra or Cheetara comes up with a plan, it must be a good one because it didn’t come from Lion-O. Everyone gave Lion-O a hard time about getting revenge on Mumm-Ra, yet nobody gave Panthro a hard time about getting revenge on Grune.

Not even Mumm-Ra’s forces think Lion-O is qualified to be king. Mumm-Ra, Slithe, Grune, and virtually all the Lizards have all insulted Lion-O in some way and said that he was a fool and unfit to lead.

Finally, i’d say Pumyra was the proverbial last straw. All Lion-O wanted to do was help her and she nearly killed in response. This even continued after she was freed, if i were Lion-O, i would’ve just left her for the Lizards to kill in Mount Plun-Darr. And stopping Mumm-Ra from getting the SoP would have certainly have been more of a good idea than saving an insulting Cat like Pumyra.

And let’s not forget what happened in “Recipe for Disaster”, Tygra thought Lion-O was setting himself to get shot down, again. That implies that he thinks Lion-O should stay alone, that doesn’t sound very supportive to someone who recently got his heartbroken, and Cheetara just blew it off.

Now, given that Pumyra has revealed her true colors, i wouldn’t blame Lion-O if didn’t stop until that traitorous Puma was a stain on his sword. The worst part of it is, if the show does get a second season, Tygra and the others are probably just gonna treat the whole betrayal like it had no effect on Lion-O at all, paying his aching broken heart no mind.

I repeat my question: how can Lion-O still manage to be the nice guy after all that? After what he’s been through, you’d think he’d be as cold and detached as he briefly was in “Ramalak Rising”. Hardly anyone he’s met has proven themselves worthy of his kindness. And the worst part of it is that, after what happened in Avista, he’s probably feeling like he will never find true love, at least not from another of his own kind, and the others don’t even care about how he feels.

If we do get a second season, I believe Lion-O will change a little bit. There was talk about how the second season was going to roll out. It will focus on Lion-O’s progress where he will learn more of the potential of the Sword of Omens, gain more fighting skills, and becoming sharper in his surroundings to the point where he, finally, beats Tygra. They would, also, show arguments and disagreements between Tygra and Cheetara, which would lead to a big break up between the two. Also, it will show Lion-O being averse to any kind of feelings to women, which would bring tensions between the lion and the cheetah.

I agree. The relationship of Tygra and Cheetara will be long. But I believe that the relationship between Cheetara and Lion-O will happen when he grows up and has the same age that Leo.

DN said that Lion-O would be the same age as Lion-O in the original series.

I’m not a fan of Li / Chee at this point, I think Tygra and Cheetara are a couple more compatible. But that’s different if Lion-O grows and becomes like Leo.

Lion-O is not going to have a girlfriend. Although Pumyra be redeemed by him, she will not be his partner.

They use a lot of plot twists and it makes sense for them to do that.

where did you get this information from because if it’s true that these events were gonna happen, then i want to read more of it.

I have a friend who talked to one of the voice actors. They told her what was going to happened and she post them on Fanfiction forums.

Well that’s just freaking great. It sounds like the second season would be incredibly epic and have a lot of twists. Now I just can’t stand the thought of it not happening. Let’s hope with it being on Toonami plus the recent attention CN gave it at their 20th Anniversary it will have a chance. Otherwise, CN can just die.

If we do get a second season, they should get someone else to be the comic relief because nobody wants to see Panthro be the comic relief.

If what kman says is true, then I think I’ll hate season 2 (being a Tygra fan). I’m ok with Lion-o finally beating Tygra, that’s how it’s supposed to be. But why does he have to break up with Cheetara?

So Lion-o would finally be better than him, and get Cheetara, leaving Tygra again with nothing? Does Lion-o really have to “get” Cheetara to be better than Tygra? If they get to break up, I hope it’s for Cheetara to show some development and stay alone.

Don’t get me wrong. I’d have been ok with Lion-o/Cheetara if they started like that from the beginning. But making Tygra be with her, only for her finally realize Lion-o is “the better man” sucks, because that’d prove Tygra to be a complete loser in all fields, and that’s not fair. And even more, would any of you ever consider to be with your brother’s ex, even more with that all history between them?

So, if they broke up, I hope it has nothing to do with Lion-o, and that they don’t become a couple. In fact, even if Tygra and Cheetara end up alone and Lion-o does get a partner, that would showcase Lion-o as better than Tyra by being the one able to hold a relationship.

I’m sorry, but I think that if that is true, then it’s taking the “Lion-o is good and Tygra a ball of flaws” too far, and that ****es me off.

Haha, gotta love the fan base:

“They need to focus on Lion-O!”

(1 week later) “Lion-O is too overpowered!!!”

(not insulting anyone directly, just saying)

Anyway, they never said Cheetara gets with Lion-O, so there’s no reason to complain about that. I’m fine with whatever happens. I think our focus now should just be getting the show back instead of worrying about what will happen in the series.
Merged Post:

I’m sure they’d have others be comic relief. Panthro is pretty funny at some times, but I like Tygra’s sarcasm and cynicism a lot more. If Lynx-O’s there, then BRING ON THE BLIND JOKES!!! (if you know Avatar, then you know what I mean)

Actually, Hammy, they were talking about reviving the LiChee shipping but it would start out with Cheetara helping Lion-O and trying to comfort him after what happened after Avista City.
Also, another segment of the second season would be the ThunderCats trying to find away to free Jaga’s spirit from the Book of Omens and it will explain why Jaga, rarely, appeared on the show.

wow, if this is all true, season two would be a very emotionally intense season than season one.

  1. It sounds like my Season two ideas have been shot down before i could even finish, great

  2. Are the writers of this show just bound and determined to make sure no one in the group has someone special in their lives? This is Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated all over again

  3. Read the title, this isn’t a thread about how Season 2 is going to be

Actually, they’re going to do the ‘someone special’ thing one step at a time so they won’t screw up, again.

And I’ve read the title and I don’t care.

I have to know, Kwam134, how reliable is this source of yours?

I’m still saying that people will overreact to whatever happens on the show no matter what happens. They will be complaining more than actually being happy about it returning.

very reliable, srebak.
There will, also, be concepts like the reconstruction of Thundera, the geography of Third-Earth, the unity of the animals, and the defeat of Mumm-Ra.

Was this person speaking out because the show is done? I have a sneaky suspicion that they would give more info if it was officially gone.

not really. The person was giving me, and the others on our forum, the details of when season 2 premiers.

Wait, it’s actually going to happen!?!?

  1. Please give me a link to this forum you’re talking about

  2. All of this just doesn’t sit well with me: and it’s not just because any ideas i had for a season 2 have just been torpedoed

I’m upset because, apparently, bringing Tygra and Cheetara together at Lion-O’s expense wasn’t bad enough, now they’re going to add tension to couple as well. And i could more or less deal with that if they left Lion-O out of the equation, but no, they’re going to try and revive the LiChee ship just for the sake of adding more drama. You call that good story telling, i call it just messing with the viewers. If Tygra and Cheetara break up, fine, but leave Lion-O out of the issue, it’s the Love Triangle thing all over again, and you know Lion-O’s going to be the one who gets hurt in the end. I just couldn’t take that

Furthermore, if Pumyra is revived and redeemed, after all that’s happened, what else can the writers do with her? Yeah, i know it would be a shame to just have her as a love interest for Lion-O, but after the amount of attention the writers put into that, they’re really just gonna say “forget about it, that’s done”?
