I thought id make a thread to showcase what Hollywood Heroes have for upcoming auction, and also to make it easier for you all to see. I find them all incredible as well as the superb artwork. Simply astonishing.

Not all of that is currently listed as being part of the July 4-11 auction. I do like checking to see if there is anything new posted.
The alternate Lair head looks very similar to the produced version, the only things that jump out at me are the lack of connected upper and lower teeth and no holes for the “laser saber” system.
A question for Jordan because I am curious, what is the “minus” price for a prototype like QUICKJAWS by example?
I mean, if auctioners will not offer a right price at the end of this auction, you will cancel all bids and you keep it or the sale will be done?
If a minus price exists, which one it is for this proto please?
If you mean a “reserve” then yes… we do have reserves on these. If they do not sell, they will go back to the clients. At some point, they may be offered for sale again, but I am not certain.
The reserves are incorporated into the estimates. For example, we’re estimating quickjaws to sell for between $3200-$3500. The reserve is $3200.
Also, someone asked about starting times. All auctions start at 12;AM EST. So, you would just figure out when PST, or GMT is in the equation.
We still have lots more coming. The initial auction will be smaller compared to the others. The ratio is about 20% protos and 80% original artwork for the entire collection.
Sad to say, but I am 99.9999% sure that I’ll be sitting all of these auctions out. Just added up the “reserve” prices for the first set and it comes to just over $8,100. Too rich for my poor blood.

TBH, i think the prices are fair for something as astonishing as these finds…
Just that on my pittance of a wage i wouldnt be able to afford any of it… And i suspect other people wouldnt be able to afford that much for a single figure…
I am no art collector nor am I knowledgeable on the value of prototypes of unproduced toys from 25 years ago.
That being said, I can do the math and logic pretty easy. Let’s say for the sake of explaining my logic, I want to attempt to be the highest bidder on the painted Quick-Jaws. His reserve is going to be $3,200. In order to make that attempt, there is no way I can afford to buy anything else from these auctions. So anything I’d like to get from any auction before the one including the one I really want most, will have to be ignored by me.
The Mini-Feliner and Mini-ThunderTank would be nice to have, but I can’t afford them if I want to make a try at Quick-Jaws, especially if someone else wants Quick-Jaws and the price starts going up. And I already know that there’s a very high probability that anything I really want to get is going to sell for a price that is too high for me to afford.
Now, the item(s) I would like to try for may or may not include Quick-Jaws. I was just using that one as the example since we already know what the reserve is probably going to be. Who knows what else is waiting to have pictures uploaded, we’ve known about the Mad Bubbler prototypes for a while now and they haven’t made their way to the website.
Just saying I know enough to know I can’t bother with anything except what I already know I want to try for. Every item that has been revealed so far would be an awesome addition to any collection. But if given a choice of what to get or try to get, most of the items on display fall into the “it is nice, but not as good as _____” category. (fill in the blank with the item(s) of choice).
Who knows, maybe no one else will be interested in what I really want and I’ll be lucky… But I doubt it.

But seriously your exactly right, i am doing the same thing right now, trying to pick the 1 item that i would like to add the most, then focusing on actually winning it.
There’s Fuzzy Wuzzies? I didn’t see them. Hope you aren’t really bidding $5 more on my Nerf Hearder.:sneaky:

Of course, with there being about 300 other pieces out there, maybe there will be some surprise pieces that will draw some major attention too. But then you run the risk of one of those gems not even being announced until after the auction you focused on ends. Lots of unknowns and I fear that those unknowns will ultimately hurt these sales more than help.
What makes it that much more difficult for me is the next round of auctions. I kinda wish they would initially list everything so that we had an idea of the items to be auctioned off and not regret any previous purchases for future ones. Anyone else for a complete listing of all things to be auctioned? Also, what are the chances of the lair members being the main purchasers as opposed to private collectors?
Ah, but that’s only 1 Fuzzy Wuzzy. Thought you meant there were more than 1. Then again, maybe there are considering there’s like 300 items we have no clue about with just over 2 weeks before the first auction starts.
I agree/support Lord LionO; it would be nice to have a complete listing before the first auction gets started.
Folks, I have heard all the concerns and have listened intently. I will do my best to get up the remaining pieces next week.
Just a reminder, this first auction is going to be the “smaller” of the series. It’s the test run to make sure all goes smoothly… and everyone is pleased.
I want to make sure everyone who bids is accounted for, and everyone who wins gets their pieces and COAs in their hands… before another auction takes place.

There are TWO Mad Bubblers. One unpainted model w/Mad Bubbler II
One painted which was sold years ago, then reacquired for this auction.
We are going to be spacing these out in separate auctions. Also, the two Lunatackers will be spaced as well.

Mad Bubbler II is really the original version, right? With the two others, one painted and one unpainted, being the final version that was shown in the ads for the toy line and resemble the character in the episode of the cartoon, correct?
