Well, I have to say that my current hunting experiences tell me one thing: something bad is going on with the line.
I have been to about a dozen Toys R Us, six Wal-Mart, and three Target stores in and around the Orlando, Florida area. I have seen both the Tower and the Tank for under $10.00 at a Wal-Mart, Everything on Clearance pegs at Toys R Us stores, and when asked, employees of both Wal-Mart and Target start to check if there is anything still in the back, then look at the figure in my hand and tell me that everything they have for the line is out and on clearance. I am still only finding the 3 basic figures, 2 deluxe figures, 4-pack, and Tank at the Targets.
After the 20 or so stores I have been to in the last week down here, I only found one that had the most recent wave of items, I picked up Lion-O V2, Panthro V2, Mumm-Ra the Ever Living, As well as Tygra and Cheetara with current wave pictured on the back. I still have yet to find a Claudus in a store.
It’s not that he’s skeptical. It’s that he argues with anyone who doesn’t agree with him to the point where it looks like he wants the show to fail just so he can go “I told you so.”
The problem with doing that, even if we were to spend over a million pounds is that, it wouldn’t improve the situation. Bandai would just continue doing what they are doing and that is the biggest problem to fans and children (its main target audience). Bandai’s toys are simply not good enough. With the exception of the 8" Lion-O and Tygra (which could also have a couple improvements) all the toys based on the new show are not what collectors or children are after and that iswhy they are not selling. My mate is getting a set because where he lives they are on clearance at 2 for £5 otherwise he wouldn’t be bothering.
If Bandai lost that worthless Thunder Lynx feature, made better weapons and made some colour matching joints the figures would be a lot better for it.
Amazon.uk has them full price (£6 - 8 ish per 4 inch basic figure), Tesco, Asda, Argos, Morrissons etc all have them in stock at full price or just under, Smyths toy shop has stock at full price (£7.99 per 4 inch basic figure), etc etc etc.
They all had a seasonal sale on over Easter when the usual doommongers went into a frenzy of ‘ohmygoditsonclearancesothatmeansitscancelled!!!’ But the sale ended, and they are back to normal. As far as I can tell, they still seem to be selling as well as any other toy line either side of them, Ben 10, power rangers etc (which incedentally are frequently in clearance bins and discount shops). So I just don’t get where these low sales figures are coming from? Or are they just counting a small part of N.America and assuming its the same in the rest of the world as American companies have a habit of doing? (No offence to any Americans). A slow down in sales is to be expected though if they just keep the same figures on the pegs and don’t put new ones up there (Bandai!!!), kids aren’t going to buy the same figure over and over and over again are they? The sooner wave 2 is released in the UK the better.
I stand corrected, didn’t see that promotion till you mentioned it. The tank and vehicles are full price though. The others I listed (as well as other shops) have them without promotion too.

Nah, why do that?? let’s all keep with the theme of seemingly WANTING the line to fail and be discontinued by being so negative shall we? lol!
