You must have been watching a different show than me, that doesn’t make any sense.. worst Deus Ex-Machina ever? I think you are talking about Korra being able to restore bending, but that was not a deal-breaker at all, didn’t even have much impact on anything, as compared to what other shows have pulled off. And if you fell over the lack of character development in these 12 episodes of Korra then the Thundercats OS must be the worst show ever?
The OS’s focus was on action, not story. Korra is a show driven by story. The action in the OS was great, and the story in Korra began strong but declined more and more as the series went on. Korra’s storyline being filled with holes and completely rushed was like watching a comedian that never told all of his jokes and just skipped to the punch line every time. Also, I wouldn’t have cared if she got her bending back and could restore bending as long as it wasn’t done so lazily and abruptly.
Just to sort of steer thing back on track, I haven’t heard anything really about Young justice being cancelled. Like Thundercats, no real announcement has been made either way. So as with Thundercats, people are just jumping to conclusions and just automatically assuming it’s cancelled.
I also think part of the problem too is that people may be confusing it with the news that Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be cancelled after this season (Supposedly to make way for a different Avengers show. Whatev.) And so because of that, somehow they think YJ is being cancelled too.
Korra is all about the amazing action scenes. As for the story, only the last episode was a bit rushed, not the whole series.
He’s a Thundercats fanboy by the looks of it. Korra is great in many ways, hating on it like this almost makes him look like “TheVileOne”.
Despite how it looks, I am not like him. Pointing out obvious flaws to a series is not hating, and if you think it is, then you’re just a fanboy yourself. I did enjoy the series up to the finale, the visuals and musical score is unparalleled, and I think A:TLA beats any cartoon I’ve ever seen including ThundrCats and Young Justice. And it’s not like I want Korra to end, I was just extremely disappointed with how it turned out. I hope the next season(s) will prove me wrong and end up being awesome. Until then, it’s not like I’m the only person that didn’t enjoy the finale. A good 70% of the reviews I have watched/read of the finale criticized it in some way for the rushed plot. And you cannot sit there and tell me characters like Bolin and Mako (my personal least-favorite) got enough development. It’s far from a perfect series, and so is ThunderCats, it’s just that Korra is farther.

It’s not completely about action scenes. The whole point of the show is the story, and you can’t cover up a mediocre story with fight scenes (Transformers movies).

Yeah, I don’t know why people think YJ was cancelled. I guess with the ratings being the same as ThunderCats and GL caused for some worry. I think if both YJ and GL are renewed (I know, YJ is just on a mid season break), I don’t understand why TCats can’t.
People think YJ was cancelled because of the gaps in production to new episodes airing. For instance the 2nd Season YJ: Invasion has aired 6 episodes while the rest are not due until the fall. That and the fact that the first season had a gap of nearly a year led people to believe it was cancelled.
One thing to consider for Tcats though is this, if DC/WB (who own TCats) has a 4 show block consisting of YJ, GL, Titans, and new Batman…where does that leave room for Tcats? Honestly thats a aalot of shows from one group and CN will still want to air some of their own shows in the AM slots.

I was going by a comment one of the Concept Artists made on FB. They didn’t outright say it was going to be canceled, but they (while commenting on ThunderCats being in trouble) said something like “the good always die young” and mentioned a couple other shows including YJ.
The flaws? Thundercats has serious flaws all over the board and maybe now you see it but not once have i seen you mention or doing nothing than to praise this show.
I love Thundercats but it’s far from perfect. I would like the show to contintue but if it continues in the same way it has been with the first season then i dont really mind.
Speaking of which i dont watch the new Avatar much, only seen 8 episodes but i can tell it’s far superior in everything it does than Thundercats. After that, what ever you like more is opinion but facts are facts. (Talking about the TC Flaws now)
If you haven’t seen the finale then you don’t know what is wrong with the series. The only big flaws in TCats is Cheetara’s lack of development and a couple filler episodes. Pumyra’s bipolarity can be explained because she was controlled by Mumm-Ra. I can’t think of any other big flaws. Korra tried to bring closure to everything in 2 minutes and basically ruined a good chance at an interesting plot in the second season. Plus, the development is just not there in characters in Korra. It just isn’t, and there is no arguing with that. TCats did much better on character development (besides Cheetara) and pacing.
The fact is that Korra is not as good of a show as ThunderCats. It’s not like ThunderCats is the best series ever, but it didn’t have near the flaws that Korra had, and the flaws Korra had were much more detrimental to the series as a whole. I do praise Korra for great voice acting, animation (possibly the best), and music, because it outdoes ThunderCats in all of those. Writing-wise, ThunderCats is better. Where Korra spends an episode focusing on a love triangle while the plot could be moving, ThunderCats had both going on at the same time. Not only did the love triangle feel less forced in ThunderCats, but it didn’t get in the way. In fact, it added to the suspense and action. All Korra’s did was add unnecessary drama and a small amount of comic relief. What it also did was glorify a boring side character (Mako) and leave Bolin for the sidelines. Seriously, he did nothing after that episode.
Also, Korra’s action scenes were better, but ThunderCats isn’t an action-based show. It’s based on the mythology and storytelling, and focuses more on battles than martial arts and duels.
In summary, where Korra lacked in character development and pacing, ThunderCats lacked in action and a tiny bit of filler episodes.

That’s just an opinion as well.
It’s an opinion that seem to be true as you agree that on most points it’s better. Also i dont care about writing a novel everytime we are gonna type something so i’m just gonna stop it right here. If you wanna be a complete TC fanboy and praise it to the skies be my guest that’s just good for you. I myself think the show it’s great but sees the many flaws it has in it’s characters, development over the series and animation failures.

Once again YJ is not cancelled, they are finishing the 2nd season titled Invasion as not all the episodes have been finished. Several are in the can and several more are being edited and ADR finished.
As for TCats. I agree with Rizefall, some people love it so much they fail to see it for what it is. A good show but one with many flaws. Namely in writing and pacing IMO. With WB/DC having 4 shows coming this fall and next year - YJ 2nd season (rest of it), Green lantern, TZhe new batman series, and Teen Titans. I think Tcats is out. it is not as highly rated as the others and being a non DC WB property (Being that it is not a DC Comic), I see WB focusing on their other series and this getting either Direct to Video finish or just left as is, especially with many stores reducing TCats merchandise stock.
I just pointed out flaws in ThunderCats, so at this point I’m just giving up on this argument.
Anyway, I hope we hear something soon for the series.
You did point it out but my statement still stands. You seem to love it for other reasons then it just being “good”. Childhood memory or not if something SUCKS it sucks. Thundercats 2011 does not suck, it’s not legendary, it’s just very good. That’s my opinion, that’s it’s an ok show.
I also hope the show will continue, the story is quite nice (though not well executed).
We’ll just have to agree to disagree. I think the same about execution of its story and it will never be as legendary as the original Avatar series. I don’t think the new ThunderCats is legendary either, but I don’t think either Korra or ThunderCats have a chance to be legendary because they are ultimately reboots. I do believe both shows can and hopefully will improve in their second seasons. Korra’s just going to have to do a lot more to impress me.

Nothing wrong with her development compared to the other TCs. And the big flaws in TC are the bad pacing (in part due to too much filler), lack of action and inconsistencies between the episodes. The love triangle in Thundercats came totally out of nowhere, Lion-o was being made to look like a loser compared to Tygra who could do no wrong, until the Trials 2 episode where Tygra was suddenly being shown as a total failure. The plotline of Mumm-ra acquiring the sword of Plun’darr was interrupted with filler where this plotline was suddenly ignored, as Mumm-ra turned himself into a dinosaur and attacked the Thundercats. The Thundercats didn’t know about technology, then lateron inexplicably begin to use it at expert level anyway. All of that doesn’t sum up to great writing, it looks like a bad case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing. There was a lot I liked about Thundercats, but there were also a lot of not so great aspects to it.
The fact is that Korra is not as good of a show as ThunderCats.
We could have only been so lucky they had put the Korra team on Thundercats, we could have gotten something really epic. If they do make a second season, I really hope they fix some of these writing issues and also focus more on the action aspect.
Okay, we should really get back on topic. I understand you guys like Korra, so understand that I like ThunderCats.
I just got the chance to read this thread and everyone seems to say this and say that about a show. Or this show is better than this one and vis versa. Or this show as these faults and that’s why it wont get renewed. And were does that get us NOWHERE. But as for G.L. getting the last half of there 1st season finished I think it is a good sign for the Thundercats personally.
