Game: ThunderCat Trivia

Is it in “The Trouble with ThunderKittens”, maybe when he’s sleeping?

Sorry, that’s not it. But it is a Season 1 episode (another hint).

Maybe “Sixth Sense” for a similar reason?

I think I have it. Is it the underwater scene with the Nosediver in “Fireballs of Plun-darr”?

That’s the one! Ah well, my reign of evil was fun while it lasted. :devil At least I managed to get you guys to think hard, even if it was for a short time. Well done, Mr. Bond! Your turn.

Is it Fireballs of Castle Plundarr when he is underwater on the nosediver chasing Tygra?

I know the preceeding scene of the episode makes it clear that it is suppose to be Slithe in the Nosediver, however it is clear that the animators, for whatever reason, used the image of a “regular” reptilian for the scene:

The ears especially give it away. Slithe’s ears are very, very different than the one’s seen there.

New question.

Can you name a time when the Sword of Omens alerted Lion-O that someone other than a Thundercat was in danger?

That’s a very good question! My first thought was “DoomGaze” when Lion-O learns about the Man-O-War cloud heading for the Berbil Village. But in that case the sword did not alert him and he chose to use it to find out about the odd cloud.

I’ll need to think more about what the right answer may be.

“Berbils” when it showed the Giantaurs?

Good point about the generic reptilian. I never looked that closely before. It’s reasons like this that I always lurk in this thread haha.

In that case, wasn’t the sword alerting Lion-O to his own impending danger?

I might have messed up here, folks. After reviewing the scene I am thinking of, I realize the argument could be made that the sword is simply alerting Lion-O to danger, although it certainly gives more the impression that it is alerting him that someone else is in trouble. I think it best to scrap the question (I’ll give the answer and we can discuss it if ya’ll want) and just give a different one. What do you all say?

Just for the record, what scene were you thinking of?

I was thinking specifically of the scene in “The Thunder-Cutter” where the sword awakens Lion-O and he sees the Ninja holding Nayda, about to drop her to the ground. It seems like the sword is alerting Lion-O that Nayda is in trouble, but it could be said that it was simply alerting him to the danger of the Ninja. What do you all think?

For the new question, I’ll ask the inverse - Can you name a time where the Sword of Omens should have alerted Lion-O that a Thundercat was in danger, but failed to do so? I have a specific scene in mind, but I have no doubt that there is more than one correct answer. Any correct answer will do.

In my opinion, I think your question was correct. I think the sword really was alerting Lion-O that Nayda was in danger. Because if the sword had been alerting Lion-O about the danger of the Ninja then why didn’t it do so when they first meet the Ninja in the Tabbut costume? The sword can obviously see through the disguise. Also Lion-O himself was not in immediate danger from the Ninja at that moment so the sword wasn’t trying to warn him about his own safety either.

There are a LOT of answers to that! Probably half the episode list! We’ve even discussed many on the forums here.

I can think of “Mongor”.

You’re absolutely correct, though the sword has taken its sweet time before.

Yeah, I figured. The one I am thinking of is so egregious - it only doesn’t alert Lion-O because otherwise the whole plot of the episode falls apart. If you can think of one, lets hear it

Besides “Mongor”, I can also think (I know we’re supposed to give one answer at a time, but I’ll make an exception this time given that, as Wily said, there are so many eps and I think all of them would be correct even if they weren’t the one you were thinking of… It’d be more a contest of trying to guess what’s in your head -the specific ep- rather than hitting the (a) right answer ;)) of “Safari Joe”, “Pumm-Ra”, “Garden of Delights”, “Monkian’s Bargain”… Hopefully one of them is the one you have in mind
