Game: ThunderCat Trivia

Thanks bud! Mumm-Ra usually says that he has lived for a thousand years (e.g. in “Pumm-Ra”), so that was my first thought, but then I felt that “a thousand” didn’t necessarily mean “one thousand”. Then I recalled “Dimension Doom” and reading the official blurb of one of the hardcover TCats books (I think it was “Attack of the Mutants”), which describes Mumm-Ra as a “seven thousand year old bundle of evil” (which I’m guessing is what the stork delivering baby Mumm-Ra to his parents must have said! “Here is your bundle of evil ma,am!” :D.

Ok so I’m going to try and post a “tricky” question.

In which episode do we hear Larry Kenney doing his best impression of Mumm-Ra?

Notable you say Larry Kenney the actor and not one of his characters. Obviously the first thought would be Lion-O but I don’t recall him ever doing that. Jackalman . . . yes, that could be it. I’ll say “The Mountain”, I think Jackalman has an imaginary conversation with Mumm-Ra, playing both parts.

Right, that’s why 7,000 is the lower bound. I discount the 1,000-year mention as an order of magnitude approximation, or a specific reference to the First Earth Second Earth transition. He’s clearly older than 1,000 years—Ancient Egypt was absorbed by Rome 2,000 years ago.

The upper bound is more nebulous. On a geologic timescale, we know from “The Last Day” that the continents haven’t shifted too much, so he’s probably not tens of millions of years old…

The continents looking the same was probably for our benefit. After all, in Star Trek, they say that the moon has been terraformed and colonised, but every time they show us an image of it, it’s the bare lump of rock we know it as today.

I would say this was in “Chain of Loyalty” when a captured Eggbert tricks Ma-Mutt by pretending to be Mumm-Ra.

I’m not 100% sure, but to the best of my knowledge, Jackalman has an imaginary conversation with Slithe where he does a pretty decent impersonation of the reptilian.

That’s the one I had in mind! So much for my "trick question’! LOL! :biggrin Your turn, BB. :thumbsup

New question -

The episode “Mumm-Ra Lives! - Part V” features one of the main characters with a specific area colored incorrectly throughout the entire episode. Animation errors not withstanding, this is the only episode that has this part colored this way in the entire series. Can you name the character and part that I am referring to?

Is it Mumm-Ra? I think in Part V the heads of the snakes on his helmet are colored red instead of the usual black

Right on, Wilycub!

Thanks! And on the topic of incorrect coloring of main characters, did you notice how in many later episodes, the dark color on Jaga’s nose is replaced with the light color of his cheeks?

Here’s another question, an easy one since I can’t seem to come up with a truly difficult one:

Which villain’s sidekick appeared in an episode without his/her main villain? Name the episode as well.

I did not notice that about Jaga’s nose, I always just noticed the area around his mouth sometimes being dark when it is normally light. I’ll keep an eye out for the changes to his nose, now.

And I believe the answer to your question is Mule, who showed up in the crowd without Safari Joe in “The Trial of Evil”

I was just about to say the same thing.

Right again! :thumbsup You’re up.

Ok, lets see…

Name the one episode to feature a character originally created by William Overgard but was not written by him. By feature, I mean that this character was more or less the central focus of the episode. I am not counting “Return to Thundera! Part IV” as neither Mandora nor Captain Bragg and Cronan are the main characters in that episode.

Is it “Hachiman’s Honor”?

BAM! You got it! “Hachiman’s Honor” was written by J. Larry Carrol.

I know this is off topic, but it gets me thinking…how unfair is it that we got more than one focus episode for characters like Mandora and Hachiman, but never one for Bengali or really even Panthro?

A good point! I felt bad for Bengali when he was always told by Lion-O to stay behind and guard the lair. Telling that to the ThunderKittens is understandable. I mean they are kids after all and you don’t want them in dangerous situation unnecessarily. But why treat Bengali like a kid? Of the three new ThunderCats, Lynx-O was unnecessarily overused by the writers.

And the new question is:

In which episode do we see Slithe without his headpiece?

I confess I have no idea what the answer is. Can we get a hint?

This must be the first time that I’ve come up with a truly difficult question! You’re not pulling my leg, are you?

Hint…hmmmmm… okay, there is only one scene in which Slithe is without his headpiece. He wears it for most of the episode.
