Game: ThunderCat Trivia

This is a very interesting question because in the Spanish version of the show, I have noticed a few variations in the phrase… the most commonly used one being “cuerpo decadente”.

Spot on Zax! Perfect in every detail!

He then adds, “And now, from Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living to Pumm-Ra, the puma of Thundera! Pumm-Ra!”

More information than was strictly necessary, because there’s a few episodes where he did an additional transformation, such as “Dream Master” and “The Mumm-Ra Berbil”.

Because of this, I was actually going to say that additional transformations didn’t count, before remembering that this might throw people off the scent, as the episode I was looking for did feature another transformation right after!

In any event, Zax, it’s your turn!

That’s right. In the Spanish version he says “Antiguos Espíritus del Mal, transformen este cuerpo decadente, en Mumm-Ra, el inmortal”

Sorry it’s taken me so long! Here we go.

In which episodes does Lion-O use Sight Beyond Sight, only to be shown nothing?

For reference, this is the sort of thing I’m referring to, though blackness also counts:

And if there are more than five, I apologize. I’m pretty sure there aren’t.

ETA: I stand corrected. There are at least six.

I can think of Mongor and I think Safari Joe.

I believe another instance is in “The Ghost Warrior” when Lion-O attempts to find out more information about Grune.

I had forgotten about Mongor! :duh: Safari Joe is also right—the Eye cannot penetrate the electronic blind.

Yes!

There are at least three more, one of which is the remaining third of my manufactured screenshot (Safari Joe and The Ghost Warrior are also in there).

If I’m not mistaken, I think there’s one such instance in “Spitting Image” as well when the Cosmic rays from the Bottomless chasm block the sword’s vision.

I am not sure if this counts, but in “Trapped” Lion-O attempts to use SBS to locate the Wily’s, however the storm blocks it from doing so. I was wondering because it does show the rain and trees though, so it’s not as though it doesn’t show anything.

I didn’t think it counted, either, but I just watched it back. Right at the end of that Sight Beyond Sight, the Eye shows the same sort of glowy field of view that it has in the other episodes we’ve mentioned. So, we have…

• The Ghost Warrior
• Trapped

Tygra_Rules
• Mongor
• Safari Joe

Wilycub
• Spitting Image

There are at least two more, which means it’s anyone’s game. Here are some hints, one for each:

  1. Cheetara describes it as a bomb going off in her head, but the Eye can’t see anything.
  2. The Eye momentarily shows Rock’s End, but then fades to black.

Is Sixth Sense the one that involves Cheetara?

Are they Runaways and Together We Stand?

Nope, that’s not it.

Yes! Those are the ones. That gives you three correct answers, Wilycub—a plurality—so you’re up next!

Thank you! Ok here’s my question:

Name all the episodes in which Cheetara gets caught in a net.

I know I’m missing one—I can picture it in my head. But here are the few I’ve come up with so far:

• “The DoomGaze”
• “Spaceship Beneath the Sands”
• “Wild Workout”

“The Sapceship Beanth the Sands”
“Mongor”
Does “Queen of 8 Legs” count?

ETA: Just noted that Zax already mentioned “TheSpaceship Beneath the Sands”

If memory serves me correctly, I don’t think that Cheetara was caught in a net in “Wild Workout”. I believe Chilla froze her.

I hadn’t actually thought of “Queen of 8 Legs” since technically it’s a web, but I’ll accept it since it looks like a net.

So the current standing is as follows:

thezaxfactor:

  • “The DoomGaze”
  • “Spaceship Beneath the Sands”

Tygra_Rules:

  • “Mongor”
  • “Queen of 8 Legs”

There’s just one more that I can think of which could serve as the tie-breaker. Of course it is quite possible that there may be 1 or 2 others that I may have forgotten about.

You’re right! I remembered the Lunatacs finally catching her high up in a tree, but there was no net involved. She just jumped up there and Chilla froze her. Whoops.

“Snarf Takes Up the Challenge” is one, right? I could swear there’s one more, though…

Yes, “Snarf Takes Up The Challenge” is the one! If there is another one then I would be really interested in knowing which it is. If no one can think of any other answers then you, zax are the winner.

P.S: Regarding your last question about episodes in which sight beyond sight showed Lion-O nothing, I just remembered another episode, “Feliner Part 1”. When Ratar-O turns on the scrambler it prevents the sword from showing Lion-O anything while he is in the ThunderTank. Just thought that I’d mention that answer for future reference purposes.

I think I need to stop asking questions that I don’t know all the answers to!

New question coming soon.
