Game: ThunderCat Trivia

Come on guys, it’s not THAT hard lol.

I’ll give you till tomorrow, if not, I’ll post the answer.

I’m completely blank. Maybe “Zax” might be able to figure it out.

Nope. I’m drawing a blank. You said to think on how Nayda saw him in “Out of Sight”, implying that the other person is also invisible. But I can’t think of a character other than Nayda who turns invisible alongside Tygra. Color me stumped.

OK, I’ll finish the torture lol

You got the hint, Zax. Monkian turned invisible with one of his magic spheres in “Monkian’s Bargain”, being able to see Tygra when invisible and fight him.

The final score was 2-2, but if it’s ok with you two, I’ll give this one to Wilycub for coming up with one I haven’t considered. If Zax wants though, we can call it his turn.

Or, I can post a new one

Thanks for the answer “Tygra_Rules”. I have rather vague memories of that episode so probably would have never guessed the right answer!

Thank you also for choosing me as the winner . I want to thank the Academy. I want to thank my family… oops, wrong speech! LOL!

But I think “Zax” deserves to ask the next question since I had asked one just before you did, “Tygra”. Or if he agrees, you can post another question, a sort of a tie-breaker. I don’t mind at all.

I think it makes sense to keep a rotation going—I’ll post one:

In what Season One episode do we get definitive spellings of all the ThunderCats’ names?

Bonus points if you can point out the typographic error made in one of them! I just noticed it myself.

Safari Joe?

I’ll have to check for the typo (probably Tygra, he always got the short end of the stick when it came to mistreatment in the show… although I don’t remember noticing and getting mad because of his name being mispelled, and I think I’d have noticed it lol).

It is “Safari Joe” and the error is with Tygra. It’s not a classic typo—more an issue of Japanese animators not being familiar with the Roman alphabet:

The G is upside-down.

You’re up, Tygra_Rules.

I knew the answer to that one but “Tygra_Rules” beat me to it. He is so quick! Cheetah quick!

Well done “Tygra_Rules”. Looking forward to your question.

OK, here it is.

We all know that, as the show evolved, the Sword of Omens was able of almost everything. One of its main function, as holder of the Eye of Thundera, was to summon the other TCs whenever Lion-o was in trouble, so they could help him. The Eye would give the TCs the strenght and ability to defaet any foe, solve any problem and escape any trap, or reverse any personal weakness, so they could help Lipon-o.

But there were at least two season one eps where Lion-o summoned his friends and they couldn’t go in his help. Which eps are those and what was going on with the TCs that prevented them to help Lion-o?

Ok, let me take a stab at it:

  1. Mongor: All the Thundercats (except the kittens) were trapped by Mongor.

  2. Safari Joe: All the Thundercats were captured and caged by Joe

That was fast (and I thought I was putting out a hard one lol)! You got it Wilycub

Your turn!

LOL! I think I just got lucky because I have seen those two episodes, countless times. If the question had involved any of the Season 2 episodes, then I don’t think I would have succeeded.

Ok, here’s mine:

We know that Panthro is physically the strongest of the Thundercats. Name at least any 6 scenes where we see Panthro either lifting something heavy or being pinned down by something heavy. It is ok for more than one scene to be from the same episode. Good luck!

Good one (and tough lol)

Thanks! I hope it doesn’t turn out to be so tough that no one even attempts it! LOL!

Does it count if Panthro got some help when lifting something up, or he must have done it all by himself?

That should be a valid answer too. You can just post as many instances that you can think of , even more than 6, and I will choose the best 6. I will not penalize anyone for wrong answers. Chances are you might mention some correct scenes that I might not have even thought of.

Okay, here’s a few:

  • In “Pumm-Ra” he lifts the ThunderTank (in order to shake the Mutants out of it).
  • In “The Ghost Warrior” he gets pinned behind that piece of machinery that Grune rips from the wall.
  • In “Trial of Strength” he holds up that boulder (this may or may not count)
  • In “ThunderCubs Part I” he and Lion-O get pinned beneath an ASOE Man-Beast Statue.
  • In “Return to Thundera Part III”, he helps lift that boulder off of Snarf (this really shouldn’t count, since Lion-O basically held it on his own)

ETA: That last one can’t count—he’s not even there. I think I confused him with Torr.

Wow Zax! You remembered far more than I did.

I could just think of two, “The Trial of Strenght” being one of them.

The other was “The Spaceship beneath the Sands”, when he and Lion-o lifted the Thundertank underwater to turn it over to free a seahorse.

I guess we together got 6… and you won lol… unless Wilycub had others in mind.

Good answers “Zax” and “Tygra”! Together you got most of the scenes which I had in mind as well as mentioning scenes which I had not noticed.

The few others which I had thought of were:
In “Unholy Alliance” - he is unloading some big metal boxes from the spaceship
In “Unholy Alliance” - he lifts Slithe during the end fight
In “Thundercats ho!” - he gets pinned beneath the Thundertank
In “Tower of traps” - he lifts a stone gargoyle during the end fight
In “Spitting image” - We see him shaking a giant tree to shake Nayda off it (this technically wouldn’t count as it was his clone but just felt like including it too!)

So well done both of you for getting the correct answers but since “Zax” thought of more answers, I’ll give it to him. Your turn, sir!
