I can never find any Thundercats toys at the stores other than Lion-o or Mumm-ra I have been trying to no avail to get storm charger
She said Thundercats was one of her favorite shows and if they didn’t do a good job they’d be upset.
When the line first started, I’m pretty sure the people at Bandai knew that their (non prototype) Thundercats products where not up to par compared to all the amazing detailing figures on the market. If Bandai representatives were in our shoes they would not buy their own product based on quality. To be honest majority people supported the line because it was 1. ThunderCats or 2. Their kids wanted the toys! ( I must give Bandai a little slack for trying to improve the line a bit…so hopefully there’s hope) =)
I mainly supported the line because it was Thundercats. I bought all the 6" figures and the classics. I bought the sword of omens, but yes they were all disappointing when it came to the final product. Had they looked closer to the prototypes I would’ve been more satisfied.
But I’m not giving Bandai slack here because of the way things turned out. Most kids didn’t want to buy these. But it pretty much confirmed all my fears of Bandai USA getting the license. They truly make some of the worst toys on the market. Look no further than their most recent toys for revamped Mighty Morphin Power Ranger line, the Samurai toy line, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, and Dragon Ball Evolution. These toys are freaking awful. I love Kamen Rider and I was so excited about getting some toys here but all we got were these dinky little overpriced happy meal things and not real toys. Ryuki had so many great toys in Japan and we got jack crap.
Wow! You are very passionate about this huh? I got over this line very quickly until I find better figures to buy…now the Mezco ThunderCats line have me sold, do you own any of them? Also a little off topic but I can’t wait til the new TMNT toys are out, I hear that new turtle lair will be $100 in retail.

Yeah I bought the giant Lion-O figure and I plan on getting the Mumm-ra that comes with Ma-mutt as well.
If enough people buy ThunderCats toys, there’s a guarantee that the 2011 series will return for another season. 
I think the viability of Thundercats falls into the acceptance of young kids who are now introduced in the Series for the first time. Much like we were back in the 80s when we saw the cartoon.The adult collectors are already a win-win situation as far as the show’s reception is concerned. Out of nostalgia reasons or simply because they admired a lot the original will more or less support the show.But the majority and the main target group is the younger generation which is still unaware of the show’s history.
They have to be versed into the Thundercats mythos, thus it wouldn’t be a bad idea if WB gives the go-ahead for the original Thundercats being aired in the TV once again,let’s say if Thundercats are broadcasted on Saturday morning, Sunday morning could be the day for the Original Series.
I am sure Kids will love both and will pique their interest for the Thundercats World as a whole.
I wonder when kids see the Classic line do they know where these two figures come from??
WB could exploit further the popularity the OS has gained to promote and boost the NS to the younger ages as well .

I won’t say it is so bad! It is true there could be amendments and improvements but the final outcome isn’t that bad. Personally I am OK.
I think the first smart move Bandai should have done from the beginning was to pick only for one size,preferably the taller 6’‘, and focus on making it as good as possible instead of splitting the production in 4’’ and 6’'.There isn’t much point in having exactly the same figure in two sizes.
Mattel just cancelled the “Young Justice” line. Kudos for Bandai not pulling the plug on Tcats yet!

Bad luck on not having them in the shops near you my friend, but at least there is the internet! If it softens the blow bandai america seem to dislike releasing their products anywhere outside of N.America!

Anyone else think it’s weird that we are going into the fourth week of the return of the show and there is yet to be a restocking of Wave 2 to stores? 6" Tygra still isn’t showing up and Cheetara’s aint exactly all over the place either. Shouldn’t those toys be out if the show has been back for almost a solid month?
Is there a chance that the whole franchise changes regional direction towards Europe?
Not wierd, just general bad management. It hasn’t been managed all that well from the start really (massive understocking, low promotion, pot luck wether your area/country even has certain figures if at all), so I certainly wouldn’t read any more into it than that. I’m still waiting very impatiently for the wave 2 figures to be sold in the UK! I’m thinking/hoping by late autumn/christmas, news on wave 3 will be giving us all something to celebrate.

I bloody hope so! I’m sick of bandais bias toward n.america! But I really don’t see it happening.
Here in the UK, north east, the local shops I’ve looked at over the last week (I only started collecting last week) have sold lots and been refreshed once in one store. Another has a bogof deal and 25% off, but has this deal on Ben10 too, so it’s a promotion not a clearance here. There’s not much evidence of them gathering dust.
Cheetara is the best figure so far. Amazing likeness to the cartoon. Also love WilyKat.
Same in merseyside mate, the lines are selling well in the places that stock them according to the shop workers/managers I have asked, and the sales they have on thundercat toys that I have seen are part of larger sales, not clearance specifically for thundercats, such as argos’ easter sale.
I’m surprised you think cheetaras the best figure so far? A lot of people think the figure is one of the weakest in the line? But hey, I’m glad youre happy with them! My personal favourites are the panthro and lizard figures.
