That was one of the most bothering things to me, the SoO not always warning Lion-o about other TCs in danger.
Take “Mongor”, for example. Had the SoO warned Lion-O about Tygra, not only Lion.o could have be aware of it, but he could also have summoned the otehr TCs so they together a) prevented being captured as well, b) free Tygra, who then could have enlightened them more about Mongor, and c) come up with a plan as a team.
I think in “Tight Squeeze” it didn’t warn Lion-O about Panthro and cheetara either; Lion-O could have summoned Tygra and the kittens aboard the Feliner for help.
And so many other eps.

Very true. And Jaga was equally guilty for not helping the TCats. Like in “Safari Joe”, he only tells Lion-O about Safari Joe AFTER all the other TCats have been captured. :confused

Yes, that’s another thing. It’s like Jaga was thinking: “Let’s have the other TCs captured and humiliated so Lion-O can save the day and finish his trainment”. Almost seemd as if Jaga cared nothing about the TCs.

Well he did TRY to kill Tygra with the sword of omens but the sword flew out of his hands. I still gotta wonder why episodes of the series seemed to have inconsistent animation teams. some episodes like “spitting image” and “garden of delights” are animated VERY well and in other episodes it looks like they hired 5th graders to draw them. I watched two episodes back to back last night “spitting image” and “Mumm-Rana” Spitting image compared to Mumm-Rana is VERY WELL animated while Mumm-Rana is terrible. Mumm-Ra has this weird squished appearance as well as that weird open mouthed look and the thundercats have oddly shaped faces.
Hey, just remember in the 80s villains couldn’t exactly murder the good guys because they were kid’s shows. Do you really want Mumm-Ra to go around stabbing everyone like his reboot self seems to like doing? If they did that there wouldn’t be a show. Though he did nearly murder Lion-O in “Berbils”. rofl

The amount of ludicrous plans the villains went to for there plans when they could have just killed them. I recall Shredder in TMNT had Splinter beat and tied up. But instead of finishing him he tied him up in front of a huge log battering ram with a huge boxing glove/fist to crush him.

The thing is he walks up to tygra goes “roar” and raises the sword like he’s gonna slice into him and it flies away.

I don’t know how I forgot or missed that! Maybe as a kid (and later lol) I didn’t think it was Mumm-Ra’s intention to kill him, after all he tells Tygra “There will be a way. Go, Tygra. There will be a way” as if he had always had other plans involving Tygra. Of course, he could be also meaning there will be a way to kill them.
Funny thing is it wasn’t the first, nor the only chance (neither the last) he ahd to get rid of a TC once and for all, but decided to do it with the SoO, which of course wouldn’t reply to his command, but he could have done it with the Sword of Plun-Darr (he ahd the TCs tied at his feet) and he didn’t.

well you know I don’t think 80s cartoons allowed wanton murder in them. Maybe he tfried to slice into him because he was really frustrated with that rebellious sword. I think his remark about there will be a way was there had to be a way for the sword to be used against the cats. who knows? Yes he’s had plenty of chances to kill em all but he doesn’t. Though think about this. If lion-O hadn’t been able to summon the sword of omens to his hand in “berbils” the serious would have been over after 3 episodes. :mummra
that reminds me. this is off topic but last night I had this weird dream that I was playing an RPG and Mumm-Ra was in my party. He was immune to all magic that could paralyze you, scare you, poison you, put you to sleep, etc. He also had the best defense and most HP. the only thing was he was REAL SLOW so he didn’t get many turns.I think the other two in my party where Cheetara and Pumyra.

I thought that scene in Deadpool when he escaped was a bit like James Bond.
Anybody notice that Vultureman’s flying machine had a special laser cannon, a series of bombs, and some kind of rope ladder in “Jackalman’s Rebellion”?
I’m tempted to rant some more about bad episodes.

I’ve been thinking and I guess if they killed each TC they crossed paths with, then the other TCs could have acted as they like. Think of this: the baddy of the day (Mumm-Ra, Mutants, Lunatacks, SJ, Mongor, Charr-Nin, Demolisher, Cptn Shiner, etc) they get one TC; their best option is to keep him/her/they aliv to bargain, blackmail or threaten the others, like finding a weak spot. But if the baddy killed the TC right away, then Lion-O and the others had nothing to worry and be careful about. Like “If you want to see your friend(s) do what I say”; but with the friend dead, why should Lion-O do as they say?
Of course, they could have got rid of them one by one or in a mass murder (like in “Mumm-Ra Berbil” or “Dream Master”) and have Lion-O alone, which would have weakened him after all. But I guess that’s the idea behind not killing them right away.
One exception: “Snarf Takes Up the Challenge”. Why Mumm-Ra kept them as mummies instead of killing them I don’t know. Maybe to enslave and humiliate them, but it has no point (of course the idea of Snarf saving the day didn’t cross his mind). He cpould have got rid of all of them and it wouldn’t matter if Snarf stayed alive because he could have done nothing against Mumm-Ra and the Mutants anyway.

I think, Panthro’s might be “Spitting Image” (is there another Panthro-centered episode?)
Cheetara, I guess Demension Doom, although the one when she uses her sixth sense for the first time (not “Sixth Sense”) is pretty good.
The thunderkittens had a good one with “The Trouble with he tks”
And Tygra might be “Trouble With Time” or “Fireballs from Plun-Darr”. “Out of Sight” is funny but not as good as the others, except by the fact it let us knew a “funny” side of Tygra lol.

Heh my fave character centered episodes are mostly centered on mumm-ra even if he never wins. The Last Day made me feel VERY sorry for him and he got upgraded to woobie status for me.
I love dimension doom and the episode with wiz-ra because they’re centered on cheetara and well written.
I like Out of Sight because well it’s what made me like Tygra better.
poor panthro doens’t get many episodes centered on him so I’ll have to say spitting image.
for the kids… hmmm that one is rather hard. I’m going to have to say The trouble with thunderkittens.
Sadly since Pumyra doens’t have many episodes centered on her I’m going to have to go with “Mumm-Rana’s belt” for her because that’s the only one that sticks out for me.
