I Don’t think any of the others will have any major issue with Pumyra. They all will know why she was angry and they all saw how she stopped fighting him in the arena even when Dobo had said refusing to fight meant both would be killed. She’s with them now and it’ll be dropped.

Generally speaking, the WS comics had a mature approach on the characters, all volumes were great and i strongly advise the fans to read them.
That’s what I’m thinking will happen.
Definitely looking forward to this one; the premise sounds very good and we’ll get to see Ratar-O as well. Maybe Vultureman makes an apperance too? (would be nice and would make some sense since the two of them worked together a few times in the OS).
Can’t wait to see how Ratar-O will be handled in this series. I’d really like Vultureman and Bengali to show up as well, but even if not, this sounds like an intriguing episode.
How about this: Early in the episode Pumyra is leading the other cats into the mine. The others take slight umbrage at how she orders Lion-O and the others around, but she knows the terrain so they let it go. She’s also slightly flirty with Lion-O, which he seems to enjoy, but doesn’t really reciprocate. Once inside the mine however they discover a strapping young male cat who rushes over and embraces Pumyra. Lion-O is slightly dissapointed, but nowhere near as bad as the whole Tygra/Cheetara thing. The episode continues, the slaves distrust Lion-O, Pumyra and the other guy keep “flirting” Lion-O kicks the bad guy’s ass, and the slaves are liberated. At the end of the episode Lion-O sends the other cats to hide at the Tower of Omens but Pumyra stays behind, much to his shock. He asks her why she doesn’t go with her boyfriend and she reveals that the other cat is her brother and calls him an idiot. Meanwhile Mumm-Ra realizes that the sword of Plundarr has been found and starts heading towards the mine…
I think you’re right, that is what will happen eventually, but I think there might be some very initial tension there. It won’t last long I don’t think, but it would be interesting to see it there.
Then the big wuestion is, whether the team will advance as a whole, meaning ‘New’ and ‘Nobles’ Tcats together or they will somehow be seperated. It would be kind of starnge to see 9 Tcats marching all together towards the Spirits Stones and Mummra. In the OS there was New Thundera,Third Earth, 2 Cat’s Lair, the Tower of Omens,many vehicles so they could split the group.
I’d like to see them together initially, and if they do split them up, keep the majority of them together with perhaps just one or two at the tower of omens to help unify and look after the Thunderians and start to rebuild. I wouldn’t like to split them up too much between too many places.
Yeah, but large casts are starting to become fashionable in kid’s programming (because it gives them choices). Power Rangers usually has six rangers, plus a mentor, plus a main villain, plus at least one underling who really isn’t that bad. Avengers has seven main characters and almost every episode adds another Marvel character to the show, and yes, these characters come back. My Little Pony also has a main cast of seven not including fan-favorite characters like Cheerilee and big Macintosh and the residents of ponyville. The cast for Young Justice is simply staggering, period. The point is everyone gets to show up, and while the episode will usually focus on one or two characters, generally everyone gets to do something. Then there are those episodes where the focus is on a much larger event and everyone gets an equal share of spotlight.
In the 80’s series there really wasn’t that much of a distinction between the “old” and “new” Thundercats outside of their initial introduction and the only one who stayed in the Tower of Omens almost all the time was Lynx-O. Pumyra and Bengali were often seen hanging around Cat’s Lair, even if they didn’t do much of anything.
I see. Well, again, I’m kinda’ baffled as to why some suggest Pumyra being a couple with Bengali instead of Lion-O. After already experiencing a love-triangle where Lion-O lost, I doubt the writers will touch that again(unless it is established in a very subtle, uncomplicated way that Pumyra and Bengali already have something going). So, with Lion-O being a more central/significant figure than Bengali, shouldn’t Pumyra end up with Lion-O?
I think large casts have been popular for a while now, lets not forget x men! The undoubtable leader in the ‘who the hell is this now’ school of plot development! ha!

This is all, ofcourse, assuming there will be, since Mr. Mercer hinted a possiblity.
I saw that video too. I think Mr. Mercer was teasing the crowd, jokingly. Not seriously. The cartoon does not need another romance, it has had one already that has dominated a number of episodes. it is an epic fantasy action adventure, it needs more fights, explosions and action. I think if they are trying to appeal to the young demographic, then yet another romance is not the way to do it. And I don’t think that’s the way they are going to go with it anyway.
Of course Rataro is going to be badass. I mean look how they change jackalman and monkian. I am also really looking forward to this episode too. Hopefully it will reveal Bengali or lynx o.
This was more or less what I envisioned, as well.
On a side note, I’m very miffed nobody got my “Big Lebowski” reference at the start of this thread, I was hoping to get some good quotes in about Rat Dude. 
Maybe. Just maybe. It’s very much up in the air if we are going to get another love relationship or not at this point. If we do, I very much doubt it’ll get in the way of providing the action that should be expected from a show like this. Having more than one romance didn’t get in the way of action-packed shows like The Justice League, Young Justice, The Avengers, or any of the X-Men shows. As I’ve stated before, for right now, the Tygra/Cheetara relation could be the prominent love-pair of the team, while, for the remaining episodes of this season until the middle of season 2, an affair between Lion-O and Pumyra could simply be “implied”.
Again, maybe there won’t be another romance, aside from Tygra and Cheetara, but if there is, I don’t think we should worry too much about having it predominate the action. So far, we have had 5 continous episodes with no romance whatsover.
And it has been all the better for it I think. There were a fair few episodes where the romance was prominent before that, and I think at the moment they have the balance okay, introducing any more will tip the balance I think. I don’t disagree that having more than one romance didn’t get in the way of action-packed shows like The Justice League, Young Justice, or any of the X-Men shows,I mean I still remember the whole Rogue/Gambit thing from watching the X men as a kid, but it was never a prominent focus.
I don’t think there will be any more romance, not from any other characters than Tygra or Cheetara anyway. And I think it will be better for it.

I’m hoping it will reveal at least one of them too. And if you think about scale, Rataro was arguably the biggest badass out of the mutants in the OS, so if that transfers to the NS as well, and given how sociopathic and dangerous they have made Addicus and Kaynar, Rataro will be epic!
I like what you said here. I tend to like “implied” relationships, and Young Justice was a good example towards the end of season 1 with Kid Flash and Artemis.
