Did he lose it? Can’t remember.
Maybe the others got it back for him.
Ok, when I was kid I saw this episode a number of times and I couldn’t follow what’s going on and always thought it was probably because the plot was too complicated for a kid to understand. a decade or so later I’ve watched it again and I still don’t know what’s going on LOL. Here are some of the question that I’ve had about this episode since the first time I’ve seen this episode.
- When did tygra regain his senses? (I didn’t realize about the mock eating until you guys mention it so I think this sorta solves answers this)
- Why did Willa agree to mumra’s plan so easily? It didn’t look like he put her under any spell?
- if she was under a spell when the heck did she come to her senses?
The thing that was confusing to me was that it seemed that things were going bad for the thundercats at the end but all of a sudden in the last scene tygra came to his senses and willa returned the sword and there were no signs as to what happend.
P.S. as for how Willa was able to use the sword. I had always thought that the sword could be used by any Leader with a Good heart ergo why it worked for willa. Otherwise they could have grab any innocent person.
Maybe Willa’s heart was on the right place from the beginning (planning all the time to fool Mumm-Ra) and the sword sensed it.
As for when Tygra came to his sense… I think (don’t remember properly though) there was a moment when he asked Silky/Mumm-Ra for more fruit, and he denied (he said he hasn’t any more, or that he doesn’t have any reason to give Tygra some more as he has already got him what Mumm-Ra wanted or something like that), so maybe the addictive effect passed because of Mumm-R’s selfishness and Tygra was able to realize what was happening (he might have even talked to Willa and planned it all together… those two seemed to think alike a lot during the show).
This episode has to be one of my favorites lol

Episodes like Crystal Canyon, Turmagar the Tuska and Garden of Delights accentuate on Tygra’s ‘‘evil’’ side. Never would i expect to see a member of Thundercats, let alone the second in command, so easily affected by substances, bad influences and domineering intentions…
These three episodes and especially Garden of Delights have so much depth as far as character development is concerned, i wish Tygra will express his ‘latent’ elements in the New Episodes as well. Besides the conflict for the rightful owner of the throne might arouse tygra’s ‘dark’ side. Moreover, i wish that we see more of his ‘mind’ abilities which were shown only in one episode in the old series(trial of mind power), that would be very cool and great scenarios would come out of it
I don’t think “Turmagar the Tuska” displayed Tygra’s “evil” or “dark” side, but his more vulnerable one instead. Anyway, it was a nice episode (Turmagar) because it reinforced and aspect of him that was showcased in “Garden of Delights”.
Of course, it had to be him the one influenced by the siren: Cheetara was a woman, and Jaga forbids the Lord of the TCs to have such weakness (and Pantrho wasn’t there lol).
It woudl have been interesting though that producers dealt with that aspect of him more, like addressiong it directly in one episode, or seeing Tyghra struggling against his addictive personality. It could even have been his weakness in “Safari Joe” rather than the not able to swim bulls**t.
The bad influences i mentioned above go to the siren and how easily Tygra fell victim to her enchanting abilities, panthro wasn’t there but how about Lion-o?? He didn’t fell, whereas Tygra followed her without a single hesitation
Right. I didn’t like that part of that episode. It should have shown both Lion-o and Tygra struggling against it, and him finally being captivated by the siern’s song.
It was too easy for Lion-o; he was like “what’s that?”, then Turmagar said “the siren”, and Lion-o went all “ok, let’s better ignore it”… while we didn’t see how she seduced Tygra (who, btw, in the previous scene was normally standing there with them).
Also, can’t believe they didn’t notice him going and stopped him, it was just when they decided to follow their way that Lion-o asked where Tygra was. How did he separate from the others without them noticing it?
Maybe it just demonstrated his poor judgment towards women. 
Some of these plot points would have been made clearer had there been more dialogue. Ironic since normally the Thundercats explain things a little TOO much! Lol
But anyway, Tygra comes to his senses just before asking for more of the fruit towards the end. He was trying to set the bait for Mumra by pointing out, “You will never have it all as long as Lion-O lives.” He’s letting Mumra thinks he’s willing to sacrifice Lion-O for more of the fruit, but it’s really a set up.
And Willa never does agree to Mumra’s plan. It’s that she’s able to see early on what Mumra had done to Tygra so she plays along until she could find a way to fix things.
Mixed with a bit of Lion-O being all “Ew! Girls have cooties!”
Well Lion-O’s the lead, he has to be seen as possessing a bit more strength than the secondary characters. Plus he has to be the one to save the day, lol.
I guess in the same way Tygra succumbed to Silky’s narcotic fruit or gave in, without resistance, to the keystone’s powers which resulted in him showing signs of jealousness and acrimonious behavious. In ‘Turmagar’ the moment Tygra saw the Mermaid, he was instantly carried away and bewitched by her demonic aura.
The question which strenthens my belief on Tyhgra’s ‘evil’ nature is why is he so easily prone to these addictions, without ever putting up a mental fight or trying to refuse them in the first place.
I agree in that Lion-o was supposed to be the one to save the day (although in some eps it was others who did it)… I’m just saying he should have struggled against it too. On the other hand, Tygra was he one with mind powers, thus he should have been more prepared to confront it, IMO
That’s whay I was saying; we never saw him struggling or even worried about that aspect of him. They could have addressed it in some ep, like they did with Cheetara’s fears about the others mocking her or her failing them, which caused a lack of confidence in herself and her sixth sense, that was an issue in at least 2 eps (as far as I remember): “Dimension Doom” and “Telepathy Beam”.
I agree in that it was the same reason why he fell under Silky’s fruit and the keystone that he fell under the spell of the mermaid… something in his personality was always about control.
Also, my question was, how didn’t Cheetara, Lion-o, Snarf or Turmagar notice Tygra getting separated from the group and walking towards the mermaid? They all wre looking frontwards, so they should have noticed it
I don’t think the lord of the TCs is more strong-minded than any other Thundercats. In episodes like Dimension Doom he gets controlled by outside influences just as easily as Tygra does.

I agree, they did miss an opportunity there to explore this apparent weakness further. I actually think it makes sense. I mean normal people can easily get lost in illusion and deluded thinking. Now if someone had the ability to actually, literally create illusions, I imagine they could be vulnerable to getting lost in them.
Gotta stand up for my man–er, “cat”–Tygra, lol. I also agree with those saying episodes like aren’t showing his “evil” side or “betraying his friends”, but rather just succumbing to a weakness or temptation due to outside influences (e.g., in this episode he is entranced by Silky and therefore not entirely himself when he takes the fruit and becomes high on it and addicted to it).
