Hey guys was wondering if Panthro and Tygra could break free from Safari Joe energy bolts. Would the nunchucks and Whip be able to block them? Or would the BOlts be to fast for them to move. We already know Lion-o can break free from them in the episode Fond Memories with his sword. We also know Cheetara can’t.

Maybe the bolts would’ve been too fast for Panthro and Tygra to conquer.
It all depends, Panthro may be able to block them with his nunchucks. Tygra could turn invisible but than again if the bolts are fast Tygra may not have time to turn invisible. We almost find out in the Safari Joe episode. Tygra not paying attention, luckily Cheetara pushes him out of the way on them energy bolts. Always wonder what would of happen if cheetara never pushed Tygra out of the way.
I will have to re-watch that episode before I can comment. I have only seen it twice and the last time was several years ago.
I always wondered that too. Hadn’t Cheetara pushed Tygra away and the energy bolts caught him instead, how would SF trap Cheetara? An what if Tygra chose ti turn invisible? The writers served that episode to Lion-O in a silver plate lol
Well Tygra never saw the Energy bolts coming at him. If cheetara does not push Tygra out of the way, than Tygra going for a ride. I think the energy bolts would be to strong for Tygra to break free. Energy bolts would be around Tygra wrists and ankles and he would be stuck suspended helplessly in midair. My question would be if Tygra saw them coming at him would he be able to move away from them or block them with his bolo whip? Same with Panthro.
That’s what happened with Cheetara, the enrgy bolts were too strong for her and she was helplessly suspended. I think the same would have happened to whatever TC the energy bolts caught out of guard, including Lion-O.
But to answer your question, I think yes in both cases, Tygra and Panthro. Lion-O managed to do it, so why no the others?
I could not agree more with you about the writers gave this to Lion-O on a silver plate. I always asked myself about the Tygra vs SJ battle. I mean SL helps Tygra out of the whole with his whip in his hand the whole time. Also Safari Joe does NOT handcuff his hands. I mean Tygra could of got right up. Was he to weak after the water?? I think the writers got lazy on that part!!!

I always thought that too. I mean, the TCs (including Tygra) had shown to “recover” from bigger damage fatser in other ocasions. Why didn’t Tygra recover after a little water? It’s not like we saw him drawining and taking some water, right? And yes, SJ did nothing to immobilize him (like cuffs or ropes or anything), so he could have struck back. Same with Panthro, did that energy bat suck his life energy away or what? It just flew above him and bam! Panthro was out of combat! At least Cheetara was immobilized right from the start.
Agree. Writers got lazy. That’s just it. Common sense SJ pulls Tygra out of the water. Than You either handcuff his hands together or when SJ helps Tygra out of the water SJ fires energy bolts and Tygra up in midair with cheetara than SJ says his greatest line SJ does it again. Hey if you remember was the energy bolts moving alittle up and down when cheetara was in them!! Also I always wonder how the hell did SJ get cheetara in her cage if she’s up in midair. My guess SJ puts Tygra in his cage first than cheetara, but again how does he get her down from there. As for Panthro he, look like a big p—y from the start. I mean an energy bat!!! Really. The worst part was it somehow knocks him out cold. Come on that was so weak.
I think the enerygy bolts are able to move (they fly impulsed by fire ejectors, maybe they could turn and advance, like a spaceship) and that way he could have had Cheetara into the cage.
Also, giving it a second thought, maybe Tygra got too exhausted in the water, so he had no strenght to move and SJ knew that. After all, he was lying over his stomach, caughing; I mean, you don’t expect an almost drowned person to recover and move that fast, do you? So there SJ didn’t feel like there was a rush in immobilizing him (he could have done it off camera). Problem is, we never saw Tygra not even about to get drowned, he never even got himself under water, drank it and/or breathed it; he was all the time above water. It was as if water just drained his energy off, and that was what bothered me.
Panthro, it was the most ridicule one (even more than the water thing).
Overall, a lame way to get rid of the TCs and turn Lion-O the hero of the episode. It would have been a better idea to force the TCs to get into the cages under the threat of killing the kittens if they didn’t (that wouldn’t have beem too sporty or too “hunting”, but would have been a better way to do it IMO).
Agree I believe the energy bolts do move. I mean SJ had to free cheetara at some point!!! Which to me is why SJ puts Tygra in his cage first. Than bring Chertara down with SJ robot pointing his gun at her or Tygra. Since Tygra is on the ground) but that’s why it would of make sense for SJ to fire energy bolts after he helps tygra from drowning!!! I mean think about it, SJ got to bring Tygra to his cage on foot now ( since Tygra is awake u like Panthro who was knock out) besides Cheetara not going anywhere Your right Tygra never under water and to me that was a Was way to go out but Makes no sense, to help him up and just watch him have problems breathing. Especially with his Bolo-whip in his hand the whole time. Should of shown SJ taking his whip away and firing energy bolts at Tygra after he brings him up out of the whole. But I’m 100% sure Tygra went in his cage first with SJ robot pointing his gun at him. Same with bringing Chertara down. SJ robot pointing his gun and Tygra if she try anything funny.
Here another thing that bother me about This episode. Cheetara tells Tygra in there cages if only I had my staff. But even if she had her staff in the cage she can’t contact lion-0. Because if you remember Lion-o sword of omens could not see SJ because SJ had a force field so cheetara staff would not work. Also another thing that bother me was when SJ tells Tygra don’t even dare to charge me. Tygra dose not listen to SJ and charges at him instead of turning invisible. Am I right. If Tygra turns invisible does SJ still defeat him??? I mean Tygra turn invisible against Mongor and somehow Mongor made Tygra turn back to normal. Don’t know if SJ would of beat Tygra invisible. So my guess is the writers decided not to make Tygra invisible or else he would of won and not once again lion-o the hero. Agree???

Yes, I also think Tygra was introduced into the cage first (either conscious or unconscious, but most probable conscious but at gun point or weakened or neutralized somehow; As I said, maybe SJ bound Tygra off camera) and then forced Cheetara inside under threats of hurting Tygra if she didn’t (remember he threatened to turn Tygra into a rug if she didn’t keep calm).
I still he think he somehow neutralized both Cheetara and Tygra and took them in an easier way than we are describing LOL.
Here are some other possibilities:

[li]One way to get Cheetara inside without using Tygra as a way to do it is that he turned off the energy bolts and Cheetara fell facedown to the ground, knocking her unconscious. Then made Tygra get inside under threats of hurting her and the kittens.[/li]
[li]Another way to get them is the inverse: SF took Tygra’s bolowhip and forced him to get inside under threats of shooting Cheetara up in the air if he didn’t (assuming the enrgy bolts were mobile: SJ and Tygra walked to SJ’s camp and Cheetara followed them up in the air). Tygra entered the cage and then it was Cheetara’s turn; she got inside under threats of hurting Tygra and the kittens.[/li][li]He just bound them both and took them to the camp, then made them get inside under threats of hurting them both and the kittens.[/li]
[li]A more extreme one: with Tygra lying semi-drowned, SJ knocked him out hitting him with his gun at the back of his head, then turned the energy bolts off and Cheetara fell unconscious to the ground. Then he just simply carried them to his camp and got them inside the cage. But this one would be very brutal for the show LOL.[/li][li]He threatened them both with hurting the kittens, no need to do much more.[/li][/ol]
Bottomline: he used the TC (the kittens, Cheetara, Tygra, all of them) to make the others get insidew, voluntarily or involuntarily. After all, once an enemy had a TC, he had the upped hand because the otehrs will see for their safety, right?
I agree 100%. I have always thought that, had Tygra turned invisible, SJ would have had no chance against him, that’s why SJ’s intention was to neutralize Tygra’s invisibility shooting the energy bolts at him IMO. Why he didn’t turn invisible after that? I always found that strange and bothered me. Again, writers wanting Lion-O to save the day.
2 and 3 I think that’s about SJ did. I to think the energy bolts were Mobile. SJ controlled them. He brought cheetara down after Tygra in the cage and she had nowhere to go. Remember SJ robot had a gun to. Off topic the thundercats #4 comies was great story. Lynxana was just like SJ. Did you see the way she battle lion-0. She did not back down at all. That was an even fight. getting wild kit and cat in That sticky net was a great trap but I wish Lynxana would of battle each adult thundercats the way she battle Lion-O. Instead of trapping them with mushrooms And glass that was slick as ice. Fight them face to face and make the best boy try hunter in the Galaxy Win of course. But the writers can of got lazy on that. What do you guys think. Panthro, Tygra and cheetara know match for her!!!
I would have liked to see Lynxana fitghing them as well, rather than just neutralizing them but putting them to sleep or using the glass thing.
Situations like these (Safari Joe, Lynxana) made the other TCs look real weak and/or silly IMO. Not weak int e “no strenght” way, but weak in teh “they’re not worthy fighting, just neutralize them because the big challenge is Lion-O”.
At least Mongor and super-powered Vultureman got to defeat them in combat.

Lynxana looked more powerful than SJ. She went toe to toe with Lion-o so in saying that I think the other big cats would have they hands full. She looked super fast. I mean if Wold Tygra bolo-whip be able to take her with her Stun-Gun. Again would he be able to turn invisible or would she be to fast for him. Same with Panthro. Think Lynxana takes cheetara down. Yea I always hated that she knocks Tygra and Panthro out with mushrooms. But I guess it makes sense since it would be hard to beat them both in a fight at the same time. You kinda of get a clue when Lynxana and lion-0 Free Tygra in #5. Tygra tells Lynxana in glad your on our side. Wonder how you can take that. Lol super power vultureman. I remember that one.
I agree. The Thundercats should have just been a fighting unit like Defenders of the Earth. All had the strengths and weaknesses.

Thats right cheetara tells tygra in the cage if only I had my staff. That’s right and she calls SJ a Bully. What I notice about that part. Tygra does not say a word to SJ. Cheetara does all the talking either SJ did a number on Tygra or that cage made Tygra weaken than a kitten like he said.
