Ebay update thread & collectivity issues!

It appreas lately that there are hordes of Thundercats popping up on ebay everyday. Some are reasonably priced, others are ridiculous. Buyer beware. For instance right now there’s a Bengali hammer for sale with a BIN of $100.00, no figure included. The same seller also has a Bengali figure no accessory for $100.00 BIN. So to have a complete bengali from this said seller you have to shell out $200. To me that is way over priced.
Also same said seller is selling several Thundercats accessories way over price. $35 for a sword of omen for Lion-O? Wily-Kit with hoverboard $60?

On a lighter note a complete loose Jaga sold at auction for $110.00 the other day and a MIB Tongue-A-Saurus went for $550. The tongue-a-saurus was sweet looking and i’m sure worth every penny as it’s one of the most rare Thundercats items.

In closing the ebay market is definately picking up since the announcement of the new toy line. Can’t wait to see where it hits when the new toys come out.

Please remember that sellers can sell their items for whatever price they like, doesn’t mean they will get a sale. Please avoid posting any insulting remarks about a seller too :slight_smile:

Ive noticed an influx in good pieces.

And tbh.. I dont think them ben gali prices are unreasonable. Its very hard to find a loose one with no wear. I paid £150gbp for my mint white head BG but there were hardly ever on ebay then.

Ebays a wierd site.. ive seen items sell real cheap and seen the same items sell way over the norm. Its all about whos watching and how flush they feel :slight_smile:

My post was in no way to knock the seller but to just let the board know. I like to blog nad I figured I could do a weekly ebay update for this board.I apologize if I offended anyone, I’ll try to be more straight forward and talk abotu the figures and product instead.

This amazing piece of Thundercats history just popped up on ebay and it’s the first time I have EVER seen one.

It’s a Thundercats, Cat’s Lair life size puzzle.

Current price on ebay is $499. Being that i’ve never seen one of these before I wouldnt know where to put a tag on it, but it’s still very cool![/LEFT]

There are deals to be had but good lord you have to hover over ebay! I have picked up some deals. And pasted on some others, there was an 8-Back Slithe with a buy-it-now of $39. If i didn’t have 2 then i would have snatched it, leave it for the next collector

Good idea on the post ebay front..

That puzzle looks great.. Although for that price i would of thought they would of at least checked it was complete…

It’s fine to discuss what things are worth and if it’s a good deal or not, or even if you can get said item cheaper elsewhere. But we prefer to keep it friendly (even with non board members, like Ebay sellers) :slight_smile:

and as for ThunderCats toys, back in the day (2002-2005) you could find almost anything from the toyline on Ebay. Now it seems real hard to get great items… I’m glad I only need the easier MOC’s to complete my collection! :slight_smile:

I wish I would have collected back in 02-05 when thunderwings lion-o’s were available…now they are not available, at any price apparently…

To be honest they have never been easy to find. If they were easy to get back then I would have picked one up. So don’t feel to bad with this item, as it’s always been quite rare :wink:

No. Tongue-A-Sauras does pop every now and then. I’d put that in the same rareness box as a MIB Sword Of Omens.

Actually I’d place the hard to find items into the following tiers:

Extremely RARE!: Laser Sabers Two-Packs

Very Rare: Thunderwings Lion-O, Luna Lasher Mumm-Ra, 8-back Cheetara (alone) MOC

Semi Rare: Bengali MOC, Cats Lair MIB, Sword of Omens MIB, Tongue-A-Sauras MIB

Rare: Astral Moat Monster MIB, Pumyra MOC, The Stinger MOC

Of course this is based on my own experience of collecting over the last 10 years :slight_smile: Others might have had different experiences with certain items.

Blackie, i would upgrade the MIB Sword Of omens to the Very Rare section!
I mean i’ve been desperately trying to get hold of one over at e-bay but with no luck. The last i remember seeing is many months ago.It’s getting difficult to find even a used sword, and on most of them the lighting feature doesn’t work

Problem is I think it’s easier to get than those two-packs. I’m sure a couple of auctions/deals were mentioned on the forum last year for the sword…whereas the two-packs hardly came up at all last year?

I’d gladly swap my MIB Sword of Omens for a Thunderwings Lion-O or Luna Lasher Mumm-Ra MOC any day! :slight_smile:

I definately move the sword of omens boxed to extremely rare, and also move the stinger to very rare. I sed to have a stinger carder, the package was beat but the figure was minty inside. i bought it for $40 on ebay about 7 years ago

But that would make the Sword as rare as the Laser Sabers Two-Packs? :eek:

Regular Sword of Omen -Moderately Rare
Boxed Sword Of Omen - Extremely Rare

that would be the differance.

As far as the thunderwings go. I bought mine in 08 for $40 with no Lion-O. It was one of the final pieces I needed for my collection and it took me over 6 years to find.

I would also like to venture and say a Driller MOC is also an Extremely Rare piece, I’ve never seen one MOC only loose. In fact there’s on on ebay right now for sale, loose, current price is $152.00 tempted to bid on it cause im rebuilding my collection (yes the wife is allowing me)

I’ve seen several Driller MOC’s over the years on e-Bay, but never a Thunderwings Lion-O or LL Mumm-Ra. Now that’s not to say they haven’t come up, and maybe its just my luck, but I’ve seen driller MOC’s pretty frequently on eBay over the last couple of years just browsing.

They aren’t cheap, but they’re there.

Edit - in fact, I just found one not long after posting this. The packaging is crap, but its MOC

Note - still ticked about the MIB Tongue-A-Saurus that basically got stolen for a bid of $500+ I can’t blame the person for the steal of a deal but man…wish I had seen that auction.

Ah… I’m talking about MIB/MOC items only. No way is a MIB Sword as rare as those Laser Saber Two-Packs MOC!

Fair enough. Neil i agree with you that a MIC Sword isn’t as rare as the Thunderwings Lion-o or LL Mumm-Ra but it’s definitely harder to find that an 8-back Cheetara! So this is why i suggested to move it up!

Also what about the 8-back Lion-o W/Battery? orange or red i think there are very few of them left…if none the same goes for Mumm-ra W/Battery.They belong to the Extremely Rare category in my perception

PS.I am on the prowl for a MIC Sword of Omens! Please let me know if someone is willing to help me end my hunting because it’s taken me quite some time!Thanks

I have been actively collecting for 3 months…I have yet to see any of the two-packs for sale or a sword of omens MIB. the 8-Back single Cheetara…im not convinced this even exists…
